কিন্তু আমরা খ্রীষ্টে ধার্মিক বলে গণ্য হবার চেষ্টা করতে গিয়ে আমরাও যদি পাপী বলে প্রমাণ হয়ে থাকি, তবে তার জন্য খ্রীষ্ট কি পাপের দাস? একেবারেই না!
“যদি খ্রীষ্টে নির্দোষ বলে গণ্য হওয়ার প্রচেষ্টায় আমরাও যদি পাপী বলে প্রতিপন্ন হয়ে থাকি, তবে কি ধরে নিতে হবে যে খ্রীষ্ট পাপের সহায়ক? অবশ্যই নয়!

我们若求在基督里称义,却仍旧是罪人,难道基督是叫人犯罪的吗?断乎不是!

S'il se trouve alors que nous, qui cherchons notre justification en Christ, nous sommes aussi des pécheurs, Christ aura été (ce qu'à Dieu ne plaise) un ministre de péché!
Mais si, en cherchant à être justifiés par Christ, nous étions nous-mêmes trouvés pécheurs, Christ serait donc ministre du péché! Non, certes!
