“This month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.

| «هَذَا ٱلشَّهْرُ يَكُونُ لَكُمْ رَأْسَ ٱلشُّهُورِ. هُوَ لَكُمْ أَوَّلُ شُهُورِ ٱلسَّنَةِ. |
| «مُنْذُ الآنَ يَكُونُ لَكُمْ هَذَا الشَّهْرُ رَأْسَ الشُّهُورِ وَأَوَّلَ شُهُورِ السَّنَةِ. |

“यह महीना तुम लोगों के लिये आरम्भ का ठहरे; अर्थात् वर्ष का पहला महीना यही ठहरे।
