David said on that day, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him go up to the watercourse and strike those lame and blind, who are hated by David’s soul.” Therefore they say, “The blind and the lame cannot come into the house.”
وَقَالَ دَاوُدُ فِي ذَلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ: «إِنَّ ٱلَّذِي يَضْرِبُ ٱلْيَبُوسِيِّينَ وَيَبْلُغُ إِلَى ٱلْقَنَاةِ وَٱلْعُرْجِ وَٱلْعُمْيِ ٱلْمُبْغَضِينَ مِنْ نَفْسِ دَاوُدَ». لِذَلِكَ يَقُولُونَ: «لَا يَدْخُلِ ٱلْبَيْتَ أَعْمَى أَوْ أَعْرَجُ». |
وَكَانَ دَاوُدُ قَدْ قَالَ لِرِجَالِهِ: «عَلَى مَنْ يُهَاجِمُ الْيَبُوسِيِّينَ أَنْ يَسْتَخْدِمَ الْقَنَاةَ لِلْوُصُولِ إِلَى هَؤُلاءِ’الْعُمْيِ وَالْعُرْجِ‘الَّذِينَ تُبْغِضُهُمْ نَفْسِي». لِذَلِكَ يُقَالُ: «لا يَدْخُلُ بَيْتَ الرَّبِّ أَعْمَى وَلا أَعْرَجُ». |

And David said on that day, Every one that smites the Jebusite, let him attack with the dagger both the lame and the blind, and those that hate the soul of David. Therefore they say, The lame and the blind shall not enter into the house of the Lord.

At that time David said, “Those who attack the Jebusites will have to go through the water shaft to reach the 'lame and the blind' who are David's enemies.” That is why people say, “The 'blind and the lame' must not enter the palace.”
And David said on that day, Whoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, [that are] hated by David's soul, [he shall be chief and captain]: Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

Or David avait dit en ce jour-là: Quiconque aura battu les Jébusiens, et aura atteint le canal, et les aveugles et les boiteux qui sont haïs de l'âme de David, [sera récompensé]. C'est pourquoi on dit: Aucun aveugle ni boiteux n'entrera dans cette maison.
Car David avait proposé en ce jour-là une récompense à celui qui battrait les Jébuséens, toucherait les gouttières des toits, et enlèverait les aveugles et les boiteux, haïssant l’âme de David. C’est pourquoi l’on dit en proverbe: Un aveugle et un boiteux n’entreront point dans le temple.
David avait dit en ce jour: Quiconque battra les Jébusiens et atteindra le canal, quiconque frappera ces boiteux et ces aveugles qui sont les ennemis de David… C’est pourquoi l’on dit: L’aveugle et le boiteux n’entreront point dans la maison.

Et, ce jour-là, David dit: Que tous ceux qui frapperont les Jébuséens les poignardent, ainsi que les aveugles et les boiteux, et les ennemis de David. De là vient le proverbe: Les aveugles et les boiteux n'entreront pas dans la maison du Seigneur.

Und David sprach an selbigem Tage: Wer die Jebusiter schlägt und an die Wasserleitung gelangt, und die Lahmen und die Blinden schlägt, welche der Seele Davids verhaßt sind...! Daher spricht man: Ein Blinder und ein Lahmer darf nicht ins Haus kommen.
An jenem Tage sprach David: Jeder, der die Jebusiter schlägt....und die Blinden und Lahmen, die David in der Seele verhaßt sind. Daher pflegt man zu sagen: Ein Blinder und Lahmer kommt nicht ins Haus hinein!
