وَقَالَ أَرُونَةُ: «لِمَاذَا جَاءَ سَيِّدِي ٱلْمَلِكُ إِلَى عَبْدِهِ؟» فَقَالَ دَاوُدُ: «لِأَشْتَرِيَ مِنْكَ ٱلْبَيْدَرَ لِكَيْ أَبْنِيَ مَذْبَحًا لِلرَّبِّ فَتَكُفَّ ٱلضَّرْبَةُ عَنِ ٱلشَّعْبِ».
وَسَأَلَ: «لِمَاذَا جَاءَ سَيِّدِي الْمَلِكُ إِلَى بَيْتِ عَبْدِهِ؟» فَأَجَابَهُ دَاوُدُ: «لأَشْتَرِيَ مِنْكَ الْبَيْدَرَ حَتَّى أَبْنِيَ لِلرَّبِّ مَذْبَحاً فَتَكُفَّ الضَّرْبَةُ عَنِ النَّاسِ».

Et il sortit et se prosterna devant le roi, le visage incliné vers la terre, et il dit: Quelle raison y a-t-il pour que mon seigneur le roi vienne vers son serviteur? David lui répondit: C’est pour acheter de toi l’aire et bâtir un autel au Seigneur, afin que cesse la tuerie qui ravage le peuple.
Aravna dit: Pourquoi mon seigneur le roi vient-il vers son serviteur? Et David répondit: Pour acheter de toi l’aire et pour y bâtir un autel à l’Éternel, afin que la plaie se retire de dessus le peuple.

ויאמר ארונה מדוע בא אדני המלך אל עבדו ויאמר דוד לקנות מעמך את הגרן לבנות מזבח ליהוה ותעצר המגפה מעל העם׃

Y Arauna dijo: ¿Por qué ha venido mi señor el rey a su siervo? Y David dijo: Para darte un precio por tu grano, para que pueda levantar un altar al Señor, y la enfermedad pueda ser detenida entre la gente.
