ἀμφι-βάλλω (see supr.), [in LXX: Hab.1:17 *;] = περιβάλλω, to throw around, as a garment: absol. (MM, VGT, see word), of casting a net: Mrk.1:16 (Rec. βάλλονταν ἀμφίβληστρον). SYN.: δίκτυον, σαγήνη. ἀ. is a casting-net, σ. a drag-net, δ. is the more general term - a net of any kind (Tr, Syn., § lxiv). (AS)
