< Zechariah 8 >
1 Ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun si tún tọ́ mí wá.
And the word of the Lord of hosts came, saying:
2 Báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí, “Owú ńlá ńlá ni mo jẹ fún Sioni, pẹ̀lú ìbínú ńlá ńlá ni mo fi jowú fún un.”
Thus says the Lord of hosts: I have been zealous for Zion with a great zeal, and with a great indignation have I been zealous for her.
3 Báyìí ni Olúwa wí, “Mo yípadà sí Sioni èmi ó sì gbé àárín Jerusalẹmu. Nígbà náà ni a ó sì pé Jerusalẹmu ni ìlú ńlá òtítọ́; àti òkè ńlá Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, ni a ó pè ní òkè ńlá mímọ́.”
Thus says the Lord of hosts: I have been turned back towards Zion, and I will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And Jerusalem will be called: “The City of Truth,” and “The Mountain of the Lord of Hosts, the Sanctified Mountain.”
4 Báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí, “Arúgbó ọkùnrin, àti arúgbó obìnrin, yóò gbé ìgboro Jerusalẹmu, àti olúkúlùkù pẹ̀lú ọ̀pá ni ọwọ́ rẹ̀ fún ogbó.
Thus says the Lord of hosts: Then elderly men and elderly women will dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man will be with his walking stick in his hand, because of the multitude of days.
5 Ìgboro ìlú yóò sì kún fún ọmọdékùnrin, àti ọmọdébìnrin, tí ń ṣiré ní ìta wọn.”
And the streets of the city will be filled with toddlers and children, playing in its streets.
6 Báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí pé, “Bí ó bá ṣe ìyanu ní ojú ìyókù àwọn ènìyàn yìí ni ọjọ́ wọ̀nyí, ǹjẹ́ ó ha lè jẹ́ ìyanu ni ojú mi bí?” ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí.
Thus says the Lord of hosts: If it seems difficult in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, could it indeed be difficult in my eyes, says the Lord of hosts?
7 Báyìí ní Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí pé, “Kíyèsi i, èmi ó gba àwọn ènìyàn mi kúrò ni ilẹ̀ ìlà-oòrùn, àti kúrò ni ilẹ̀ ìwọ̀-oòrùn.
Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the land of the East, and from the land of the setting of the sun.
8 Èmi ó sì mú wọn padà wá, wọn ó sì máa gbé àárín Jerusalẹmu. Wọn ó sì jẹ́ ènìyàn mi, èmi ó sì jẹ́ Ọlọ́run wọn, ní òtítọ́, àti ní òdodo.”
And I will lead them, and they will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they will be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in justice.
9 Báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí pé, “Jẹ́ kí ọwọ́ yín le ẹ̀yin ti ń gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí ní ọjọ́ wọ̀nyí ni ẹnu àwọn wòlíì tí ó wà ni ọjọ́ tí a fi ìpìlẹ̀ ilé Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun lélẹ̀, jẹ́ ki ọwọ́ rẹ̀ le kí a bá lè kọ́ tẹmpili.
Thus says the Lord of hosts: Let your hands be strengthened, you who, in those days, are listening to these words by the mouth of the prophets, in the day that the house of the Lord of hosts has been founded, so that the temple may be built.
10 Nítorí pé, ṣáájú ọjọ́ wọ̀nyí, owó ọ̀yà ènìyàn kò tó nǹkan, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọ̀yà ẹran pẹ̀lú, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò sí àlàáfíà fún ẹni ń jáde lọ, tàbí ẹni ti ń wọlé bọ, nítorí ìpọ́njú náà: nítorí mo dojú gbogbo ènìyàn, olúkúlùkù kọ aládùúgbò rẹ̀.
Indeed, before those days, there was no pay for men, nor was there pay for beasts of burden, and neither was there peace for those entering, nor for those exiting, because of the tribulation. And I had dismissed all men, each one against his neighbor.
11 Ṣùgbọ́n ní ìsinsin yìí èmi kì yóò ṣè sí ìyókù àwọn ènìyàn yìí gẹ́gẹ́ bí tí ìgbà àtijọ́,” ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí.
But now, I will not act towards the remnant of this people according to the former days, says the Lord of hosts.
12 “Nítorí irúgbìn yóò gbilẹ̀, àjàrà yóò ṣo èso rẹ̀, ilẹ̀ yóò sì hu ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ nǹkan rẹ̀ jáde, àwọn ọ̀run yóò sì mu ìrì wọn wá; èmi ó sì mu kí èyí jẹ ogún ìní àwọn ìyókù ènìyàn yìí ni gbogbo nǹkan wọ̀nyí.
But there will be a seed of peace: the vine will give her fruit, and the earth will give her seedlings, and the heavens will give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.
13 Yóò sì ṣe, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀yin tí jẹ́ ègún láàrín àwọn kèfèrí, ẹ̀yin ilé Juda, àti ilé Israẹli, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi ó gbà yín sílẹ̀; ẹ̀yin o sì jẹ́ ìbùkún, ẹ má bẹ̀rù, ṣùgbọ́n jẹ́ ki ọwọ́ yín le.”
And this shall be: just as you were a curse among the Gentiles, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Let your hands be strengthened.
14 Nítorí báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí: “Gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ti rò láti ṣe yín níbi nígbà tí àwọn baba yín mú mi bínú,” ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí, tí èmi kò sì ronúpìwàdà.
For thus says the Lord of hosts: Just as I intended to afflict you, when your fathers had provoked me to wrath, says the Lord,
15 “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi sì ti ro ọjọ́ wọ̀nyí láti ṣe rere fún Jerusalẹmu, àti fún ilé Juda: ẹ má bẹ̀rù.
and I did not show mercy, so have I turned back, thinking in these days to do good to the house of Judah and to Jerusalem. Do not be afraid.
16 Wọ̀nyí ni nǹkan tí ẹ̀yin ó ṣe: ki olúkúlùkù yín kí ó máa ba ọmọnìkejì rẹ̀ sọ òtítọ́; ṣe ìdájọ́ tòótọ́ àti àlàáfíà ní àwọn ibodè yín.
Therefore, these are the words that you shall do: Speak the truth, each one to his neighbor. With truth and a judgment of peace, judge at your gates.
17 Ẹ má ṣe jẹ́ kí ẹnìkan ro ibi ni ọkàn rẹ̀ sí ẹnìkejì rẹ̀; ẹ má fẹ́ ìbúra èké; nítorí gbogbo nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni mo kórìíra,” ni Olúwa wí.
And let not anyone think up evil against his friend in your hearts. And do not choose to swear falsely. For all these are things that I hate, says the Lord.
18 Ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun sì tọ mi wá wí pé.
And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:
19 Báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí pé: “Àwẹ̀ oṣù kẹrin, karùn-ún, keje, àti tí ẹ̀kẹwàá, yóò jẹ́ ayọ̀ àti dídùn inú, àti àpéjọ àríyá fún ilé Juda; nítorí náà, ẹ fẹ́ òtítọ́ àti àlàáfíà.”
Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth will be for the house of Judah in joy and gladness and with bright solemnities. So then, love truth and peace.
20 Báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí pé, “Àwọn ènìyàn yóò sá à tún wa, àti ẹni tí yóò gbe ìlú ńlá púpọ̀.
Thus says the Lord of hosts, then the people may arrive and dwell in many cities,
21 Àwọn ẹni tí ń gbé ìlú ńlá kan yóò lọ sí òmíràn, wí pé, ‘Ẹ jẹ́ kí a yára lọ gbàdúrà kí a sì wá ojúrere Olúwa, àti láti wá Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun. Èmi pẹ̀lú yóò sì lọ.’
and the inhabitants may hurry, one saying to another: “Let us go and entreat the face of the Lord, and let us seek the Lord of hosts. I will go also.”
22 Nítòótọ́, ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ènìyàn àti àwọn alágbára orílẹ̀-èdè yóò wá láti wá Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ní Jerusalẹmu; àti láti gbàdúrà, àti láti wá ojúrere Olúwa.”
And many peoples and strong nations will approach, seeking the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the face of the Lord.
23 Báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí pé, “Ní àwọn ọjọ́ wọ̀nyí ni ọkùnrin mẹ́wàá láti inú gbogbo èdè àti orílẹ̀-èdè yóò dìímú, àní yóò di etí aṣọ ẹni tí i ṣe Júù mú, wí pé, ‘Àwa yóò ba ọ lọ, nítorí àwa tí gbọ́ pé, Ọlọ́run wà pẹ̀lú rẹ.’”
Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days, then, ten men from every language of the Gentiles will grasp and cling to the hem of one man of Judea, saying: “We will go with you. For we have heard that God is with you.”
