< Zechariah 5 >

1 Nígbà náà ni mo yípadà, mo sì gbé ojú mi sókè, mo sì wò, sì kíyèsi i, ìwé kíká ti ń fò.
I looked up again, and I saw a scroll that was flying [through the air].
2 Ó sì wí fún mi pé, “Kí ni ìwọ rí?” Èmi sì dáhùn pé, “Mo rí ìwé kíká tí ń fò; gígùn rẹ̀ jẹ́ ogún ìgbọ̀nwọ́, ìbú rẹ̀ sì jẹ́ ìgbọ̀nwọ́ mẹ́wàá.”
The angel asked me, “What do you see?” I replied, “I see a flying scroll that is [huge], (10 yards/9 meters) long and (5 yards/4.5 meters) wide.”
3 Ó sì wí fún mi pé, “Èyí ni ègún tí ó jáde lọ sí gbogbo ilẹ̀ ayé, nítorí gbogbo àwọn tí ó bá jalè ni a ó ké kúrò láti ìhín lọ nípa rẹ̀; gbogbo àwọn tí ó bá sì búra èké ni a ó ké kúrò láti ìhín lọ nípa rẹ̀.
Then he said to me, “On this scroll is written the [words that Yahweh is speaking to] curse the entire country. On [one side of] the scroll it is written that every thief will be banished. On [the other side] it is written that everyone who tells a lie when he is solemnly promising to tell the truth will also be banished from the country.
4 Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí pé, ‘Èmi yóò mú un jáde, Èmi yóò si wọ inú ilé olè lọ, àti inú ilé ẹni ti o bá fi orúkọ mi búra èké, yóò si wà ni àárín ilé rẹ̀, yóò si rún pẹ̀lú igi àti òkúta inú rẹ̀.’”
The Commander of the armies of angels says, ‘I will send [copies of] this scroll to the places where thieves live and to the houses of those who use my name when they solemnly promise to tell the truth. [The copies of] this scroll will stay in their houses, until those houses and all their wood and stones are destroyed.’”
5 Angẹli tí ń bá mi sọ̀rọ̀ sì jáde lọ, ó sì wí fún mi pé, “Gbé ojú rẹ sókè nísinsin yìí, kí o sì wo nǹkan tí yóò jáde lọ.”
Then the angel who had been talking to me came closer to me and said, “Look up and see what is appearing!”
6 Mo sì wí pé, “Kí ni nǹkan náà?” Ó sì wí pé, “Èyí ni òsùwọ̀n tí ó jáde lọ.” Ó sì wí pé, “Èyí ni àwòrán ní gbogbo ilẹ̀ ayé.”
I asked him, “What is it?” He replied, “It is a big basket [for measuring grain]. But it represents the sins that everyone in this nation has committed.”
7 Sì kíyèsi i, a gbé tálẹ́ǹtì òjé sókè, obìnrin kan sì nìyìí tí ó jókòó sí àárín àpẹẹrẹ òsùwọ̀n.
Then [the angel] lifted the basket’s cover, [which was made] of lead. There was a woman sitting inside the basket!
8 Ó sì wí pé, “Èyí ni ìwà búburú.” Ó sì ti sí àárín òsùwọ̀n, ó sì ju ìdérí òjé sí ẹnu rẹ̀.
The angel said, “She represents the wicked things [that people do].” Then the angel pushed her back into the basket and closed the very heavy lid [again].
9 Mo sì gbé ojú mi sókè, mo sì wò, sì kíyèsi i, obìnrin méjì jáde wá, ẹ̀fúùfù sì wá nínú ìyẹ́ wọn; nítorí wọ́n ní ìyẹ́ bí ìyẹ́ àkọ̀, wọ́n sì gbé àpẹẹrẹ òsùwọ̀n náà dé àárín méjì ayé àti ọ̀run.
Then I looked up and saw two women in front of me. They [were flying toward us], with their wings spread out in the wind. Their wings were [large], like [SIM] storks’ wings. They lifted the big basket up into the sky.
10 Mo sì sọ fún angẹli tí ó ń bá mi sọ̀rọ̀ pé, “Níbo ni àwọn wọ̀nyí ń gbé òsùwọ̀n náà lọ.”
I asked the angel who had been talking to me, “Where are they taking that basket?”
11 Ó si wí fún mi pé, “Sí orílẹ̀-èdè Babeli láti kọ ilé fún un. Tí ó bá ṣetán, a ó sì fi ìdí rẹ̀ mulẹ̀, a o sì fi ka orí ìpìlẹ̀ rẹ̀ níbẹ̀.”
He replied, “[They are taking it] to Babylonia to build a temple for it. When the temple is finished, they will set the basket there on a pedestal [for people to worship it].”
