< Zechariah 2 >

1 Mó si tún gbé ojú mi, sókè, mo sì wò, sì kíyèsi i, ọkùnrin kan ti o mú okùn ìwọ̀n lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀.
I lifted up my eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
2 Mo sí wí pé, “Níbo ni ìwọ ń lọ?” O sí wí fún mí pé, “Láti wọn Jerusalẹmu, láti rí iye ìbú rẹ̀, àti iye gígùn rẹ̀.”
Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what [is] its breadth, and what [is] its length.
3 Sì kíyèsi i, angẹli tí ó ń bá mi sọ̀rọ̀ jáde lọ, angẹli mìíràn si jáde lọ pàdé rẹ̀.
And behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
4 Ó si wí fún un pé, “Sáré, sọ fún ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin yìí wí pé, ‘A ó gbé inú Jerusalẹmu bi ìlú ti kò ní odi, nítorí ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn àti ohun ọ̀sìn inú rẹ̀.
And said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited [as] towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle in it.
5 Olúwa wí pé: Èmi ó sì jẹ́ odi iná fún un yíká, èmi ó sì jẹ́ ògo láàrín rẹ̀.’
For I, saith the LORD, will be to her a wall of fire on every side, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
6 “Wá! Wá! Sá kúrò ni ilẹ̀ àríwá,” ni Olúwa wí, “nítorí pé bí afẹ́fẹ́ mẹ́rin ọ̀run ni mo tú yín káàkiri,” ni Olúwa wí.
Ho, ho, [come forth], and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.
7 “Gbà ara rẹ̀ sílẹ̀, ìwọ Sioni, ìwọ tí ó ń bà ọmọbìnrin Babeli gbé.”
Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest [with] the daughter of Babylon.
8 Nítorí báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí: “Lẹ́yìn ògo rẹ̀ ni a ti rán mi sí àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè tí ń kó yin: nítorí ẹni tí ó tọ́ yin, ó tọ́ ọmọ ojú rẹ̀.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me to the nations which wasted you: for he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye.
9 Nítorí kíyèsi i, èmi ó gbọn ọwọ́ mi sí orí wọn, wọn yóò sì jẹ́ ìkógun fún ìránṣẹ́ wọn: ẹ̀yin yóò sì mọ̀ pé, Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ni ó rán mi.
For behold, I will shake my hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.
10 “Kọrin kí o sì yọ̀, ìwọ ọmọbìnrin Sioni. Nítorí èmi ń bọ̀ àti pé èmi yóò sì gbé àárín rẹ,” ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí.
Sing, and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
11 “Ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ orílẹ̀-èdè ni yóò dàpọ̀ mọ́ Olúwa ní ọjọ́ náà, wọn yóò sì di ènìyàn mi, èmi yóò sì gbé àárín rẹ, ìwọ yóò sì mọ̀ pé, Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun ni ó rán mi sí ọ.
And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me to thee.
12 Olúwa yóò sì jogún Juda ìní rẹ̀, ni ilẹ̀ mímọ́, yóò sì tún yan Jerusalẹmu.
And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
13 Ẹ̀ dákẹ́, gbogbo ẹran-ara níwájú Olúwa: nítorí a jí i láti ibùgbé mímọ́ rẹ̀ wá.”
Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
