< Titus 1 >
1 Paulu, ìránṣẹ́ Ọlọ́run àti aposteli Jesu Kristi, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìgbàgbọ́ àwọn àyànfẹ́ Ọlọ́run àti ìmọ̀ òtítọ́ irú èyí tí í máa darí ènìyàn sí ìgbé ayé ìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run—
Paul a servant of God an apostle now of Jesus Christ according to [the] faith of [the] elect of God and knowledge of [the] truth which [is] according to godliness
2 ìgbàgbọ́ àti ìmọ̀ tí ó dúró lórí ìrètí iyè àìnípẹ̀kun, èyí tí Ọlọ́run tí kì í purọ́ ti ṣe ìlérí rẹ̀ ṣáájú kí ayé tó bẹ̀rẹ̀, (aiōnios )
in [the] hope of life eternal, which promised who cannot lie God before time eternal. (aiōnios )
3 àti pé ní àkókò tirẹ̀, òun ti fi ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ hàn nínú ìwàásù tí a fi lé mi lọ́wọ́ nípa àṣẹ Ọlọ́run Olùgbàlà wa,
He revealed now [in] seasons [His] own in the word of Him in [the] proclamation with which was entrusted I myself according to [the] commandment of the Savior of us God;
4 Sí Titu, ọmọ mi tòótọ́ nínú ìgbàgbọ́ wa kan náà: Oore-ọ̀fẹ́ àti àlàáfíà láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run Baba àti Kristi Jesu Olùgbàlà wa.
To Titus [my] true child according to [our] common faith: Grace (and *N(K)O*) peace from God [the] Father and (Lord *K*) Christ Jesus the Savior of us.
5 Ìdí tí mo fi fi ọ́ sílẹ̀ ní Krete ni pé kí o lè ṣe àṣepé àwọn iṣẹ́ tó ṣẹ́kù. Mo sì ń rọ̀ ọ́ kí o yan àwọn alàgbà ní ìlú kọ̀ọ̀kan gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ṣe darí rẹ̀.
of this Because (I left *N(k)(o)*) you in Crete, so that the [things] lacking you may set in order and may appoint in every town elders as I myself you directed;
6 Ẹni tí yóò jẹ́ alàgbà gbọdọ̀ jẹ́ aláìlábùkù, wọ́n gbọdọ̀ jẹ́ onìyàwó kan, ọmọ wọn náà gbọdọ̀ jẹ́ onígbàgbọ́ tí kò ní ẹ̀sùn ìwà ipá tàbí ẹ̀sùn àìgbọ́ràn kankan.
if anyone is blameless, of one wife [the] husband, children having believing, not under accusation of debauchery or insubordinate.
7 Alábojútó jẹ́ ẹni tí a gbé iṣẹ́ Ọlọ́run lé lọ́wọ́, nítorí náà, kò gbọdọ̀ ní àbùkù kankan tàbí agbéraga, oníjà, kò gbọdọ̀ jẹ́ ọ̀mùtí tàbí alágídí tàbí olójúkòkòrò.
It behooves for the overseer blameless to be as God’s steward, not self-willed, not quick tempered, not given to wine, not a striker, not greedy of base gain,
8 Wọ́n ní láti jẹ́ olùfẹ́ àlejò ṣíṣe, olùfẹ́ ohun tí ó dára. Wọ́n ní láti jẹ́ ẹni tí ó kò ara rẹ̀ ní ìjánu, ẹni dúró ṣinṣin, ọlọ́kàn mímọ́, àti ẹni oníwàtítọ́.
but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, [and] disciplined,
9 Ó gbọdọ̀ di ẹ̀kọ́ nípa ìdúró ṣinṣin mú dáradára gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti kọ́ ọ, kí ó lè fi ẹ̀kọ́ tí ó yè kooro kọ́ àwọn ẹlòmíràn. Nípa èyí, yóò lè fi ìdí òtítọ́ múlẹ̀ fún àwọn alátakò.
holding according to the teaching of [the] faithful word, that able he may be both to encourage with teaching sound and those contradicting [it] to convict.
10 Nítorí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ènìyàn ni ọlọ̀tẹ̀, asọ̀rọ̀ asán àti ẹlẹ́tàn pàápàá jùlọ láàrín àwọn onílà.
There are for many also insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers especially those of (the *no*) circumcision
11 Ó gbọdọ̀ pa wọ́n lẹ́nu mọ́, nítorí wí pé wọ́n ń pa agbo Ọlọ́run run, nípasẹ̀ àwọn ẹ̀kọ́ tí kò jẹ́ èyí tí wọ́n ń kọ́ni. Èyí ni wọ́n ń ṣe fún ère àìṣòdodo.
whom it is necessary to silence; who whole households overthrow teaching things that [they] not ought of shameful gain because.
12 Ọ̀kan nínú àwọn wòlíì wọn pàápàá sọ wí pé. “Òpùrọ́ ní àwọn ará Krete, wọ́n jẹ́ ẹranko búburú tí kò sé tù lójú, ọ̀lẹ, àti oníwọra”.
Said one of them own of them a prophet; Cretans [are] always liars, evil beasts, gluttons lazy.
13 Òtítọ́ ni ẹ̀rí yìí. Nítorí náà, bá wọn wí gidigidi, kí wọn ba à lè yè koro nínú ìgbàgbọ́
testimony this is true; for which cause do rebuke them severely, so that they may be sound in the faith,
14 kí àwọn má ṣe fiyèsí ìtàn lásán ti àwọn Júù, àti òfin àwọn ènìyàn tí wọ́n yípadà kúrò nínú òtítọ́.
not giving heed to Jewish myths and to [the] commandments of men turning away from the truth.
15 Sí ọlọ́kàn mímọ́, ohun gbogbo ló jẹ́ mímọ́, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn tó ti díbàjẹ́ tí wọ́n kò sí ka ohunkóhun sí mímọ́. Nítòótọ́, àti ọkàn àti ẹ̀rí ọkàn wọn ló ti díbàjẹ́.
All things [are] (indeed *k*) pure to the pure; to those however defiled and unbelieving no [thing] [is] pure, Instead have been defiled of them both mind and conscience.
16 Wọ́n ń fẹnu sọ wí pé àwọn mọ Ọlọ́run, ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n sẹ́ ẹ nípa ìṣe wọn. Wọ́n díbàjẹ́, wọn si jẹ aláìgbọ́ràn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n kò wúlò lọ́nàkọnà ní ti iṣẹ́ rere gbogbo.
God they profess to know, however by [their] works they deny [Him] detestable being and disobedient and for any work good unfit.
