< Song of Solomon 8 >

1 Ìwọ ìbá rí bí arákùnrin mi si mi, èyí tí ó mú ọmú ìyá mi dàgbà! Èmi ìbá rí ọ ní òde, èmi ìbá fi ẹnu kò ọ́ ní ẹnu, wọn kì bá fi mí ṣe ẹlẹ́yà.
Oh that thou hadst been a very brother to me, who had sucked the breasts of my own mother, —Had I found thee without, I had kissed thee, Yea, folk would not have despised me!
2 Èmi ìbá fi ọ̀nà hàn ọ́ èmi ìbá mú ọ wá sínú ilé ìyá mi, ìwọ ìbá kọ́ mi. Èmi ìbá fi ọtí wáìnì olóòórùn dídùn fún ọ mu, àti oje èso pomegiranate mi.
I would have guided thee—brought thee into the house of my mother, Thou wouldst have instructed me, —I would have let thee drink of spiced wine, of the pressed-out juice of my pomegranate.
3 Ọwọ́ òsì rẹ ìbá wà ní abẹ́ orí mi, ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ ìbá sì gbà mí mọ́ra.
His left hand under my head, then, his right hand, embraceth me.
4 Ọmọbìnrin Jerusalẹmu, èmi pè yín ní ìjà. Ẹ má ṣe rú olùfẹ́ mi sókè. Ẹ má ṣe jí i títí tí yóò fi wù ú.
I [HE] adjure you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, —Why will ye wake, and why will ye arouse the dear love until she please!
5 Ta ni ẹni tí ń gòkè bọ̀ wá láti aginjù, tí ó fi ara ti olùfẹ́ rẹ̀. Olólùfẹ́ Ní abẹ́ igi ápù ni mo ti jí ọ dìde; níbẹ̀ ni ìyá rẹ ti lóyún rẹ níbẹ̀ ni ẹni tí ń rọbí bí ọ sí.
[THEY] Who is this, coming up out of the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? [HE] Under the apple-tree, I roused thee, where thy mother, was in pain with thee, where she was in pain who gave thee birth!
6 Gbé mi sí àyà rẹ bí èdìdì bí èdìdì lé apá rẹ; nítorí ìfẹ́ lágbára bí ikú, ìjowú sì le bí isà òkú jíjò rẹ̀ rí bí jíjò iná, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀wọ́-iná Olúwa. (Sheol h7585)
[SHE] Set me as a seal, upon thy heart, as a seal upon thine arm, For, mighty as death, is love, Exacting as hades, is jealousy, —The flames thereof, are flames of fire, The flash of Yah! (Sheol h7585)
7 Omi púpọ̀ kò le paná ìfẹ́; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni gbígbá omi kò le gbá a lọ. Bí ènìyàn bá fún ìfẹ́, ní gbogbo ọrọ̀ ilé rẹ̀, a ó kẹ́gàn rẹ̀ pátápátá.
Many waters, cannot quench love, nor shall, floods, overwhelm it, —If a man would give all the substance of his house, for love, they would, utterly despise, him.
8 Àwa ní arábìnrin kékeré kan, òun kò sì ní ọmú, kí ni àwa yóò fún arábìnrin wa, ní ọjọ́ tí a ó bá fẹ́ ẹ?
[THEY] A sister, have we, a little one, and, breasts, hath she none, What shall we do for our sister, in the day when she may be spoken for?
9 Bí òun bá jẹ́ ògiri, àwa yóò kọ́ ilé odi fàdákà lé e lórí. Bí òun bá jẹ́ ìlẹ̀kùn, àwa yóò fi pákó kedari dí i.
If, a wall, she is, we will build upon it a battlement of silver, —but if, a door, she is, we will close it up with a plank of cedar.
10 Èmi jẹ́ ògiri, ọmú mi sì rí bí ilé ìṣọ́ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni mo ṣe rí ní ojú rẹ̀ bí ẹni tí ń mú àlàáfíà wá.
[SHE] I, was a wall, and, my breasts, like towers, —Then, became I, in his eyes, one who did indeed find good content.
11 Solomoni ní ọgbà àjàrà kan ní Baali-Hamoni ó gbé ọgbà àjàrà rẹ̀ fún àwọn alágbàtọ́jú olúkúlùkù ni ó ń mú èso rẹ̀ wá ẹgbẹ̀rún fàdákà.
A vineyard, had Solomon, as the owner of abundance, He put out the vineyard to keepers, —Every man, was to bring in, for the fruit thereof, a thousand silverlings:
12 Ṣùgbọ́n ọgbà àjàrà mi jẹ́ tèmi, ó wà fún mi; ẹgbẹ̀rún ṣékélì jẹ́ tìrẹ, ìwọ Solomoni, igba sì jẹ́ ti àwọn alágbàtọ́jú èso.
Mine own vineyard, is before me, —The thousand belong to thee, O Solomon, and two hundred to the keepers of the fruit thereof.
13 Ìwọ tí ń gbé inú ọgbà, àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ dẹtí sí ohùn rẹ, jẹ́ kí èmi náà gbọ́ ohùn rẹ!
[HE] O thou fair dweller in the gardens, the companions are giving heed to thy voice, Let me hear it.
14 Yára wá, Olùfẹ́ mi, kí ìwọ kí ó sì rí bí abo egbin, tàbí gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọmọ àgbọ̀nrín, lórí òkè òórùn dídùn.
[SHE] Come quickly, my beloved, and resemble thou a gazelle, or a young stag, upon the mountains of balsam-trees.
