< Romans 8 >

1 Nítorí náà, kò sí ìdálẹ́bi nísinsin yìí fún àwọn tí ó wà nínú Kristi Jesu, àwọn tí kò rìn nípa ti ara, bí kò ṣe nípa ti Ẹ̀mí.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 Nítorí nípasẹ̀ òfin ti ẹ̀mí ìyè nínú Kristi Jesu ti sọ mí di òmìnira kúrò lọ́wọ́ òfin ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ àti ikú.
For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death.
3 Nítorí ohun tí òfin kò lè ṣe, bí ó ti jẹ aláìlera nítorí ara, Ọlọ́run rán ọmọ òun tìkára rẹ̀ ní àwòrán ara ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ó sì di ẹ̀ṣẹ̀; àti bi ẹbọ fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ó sì dá ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ lẹ́bi nínú ara,
For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh,
4 kí a lè mú òdodo òfin ṣẹ, nínú wa, nítorí tí àwa yé gẹ́gẹ́ bí ohun ti ara, bí kò ṣe gẹ́gẹ́ bí ohun ti Ẹ̀mí.
so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 Àwọn tí ń gbe nípa ti ara, wọn a máa ronú ohun ti ara; ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ti ń gbe nípa ti Ẹ̀mí, wọn a máa ronú ohun ti Ẹ̀mí.
Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
6 Nítorí èrò ti ara ikú ni; ṣùgbọ́n èrò ti ẹ̀mí ni ìyè àti àlàáfíà.
The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace,
7 Nítorí èrò ti ara ọ̀tá ni sí Ọlọ́run, nítorí kì í tẹríba fún òfin Ọlọ́run, òun kò tilẹ̀ le ṣe e.
because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
8 Ìdí nìyìí tí àwọn tí ó wà lábẹ́ àkóso ara ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, kò le è tẹ́ Ọlọ́run lọ́rùn.
Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God.
9 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹyin kò sí nínú ti ara, bí kò ṣe nínú ti Ẹ̀mí, bí ó bá ṣe pé Ẹ̀mí Ọlọ́run ń gbé inú yín. Ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹnikẹ́ni kò bá ní Ẹ̀mí Kristi, òun kò sí nínú ẹni tirẹ̀.
You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
10 Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé Kristi ń gbé inú yín síbẹ̀síbẹ̀, ara yín jẹ́ òkú nítorí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀; ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀mí mímọ́ tí ń gbé inú yín yóò fún yín ní ìyè, nítorí ó ti fún un yín ní òdodo.
But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11 Àti pé, bí ẹ̀mí Ọlọ́run, ẹni tí ó jí Jesu kúrò nínú òkú bá ń gbé inú yín, ẹni tí ó jí Kristi Jesu dìde kúrò nínú òkú, yóò fi ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ tí ń gbé inú yín sọ ara kíkú yín di ààyè pẹ̀lú.
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.
12 Nítorí náà ará a ni ojúṣe láti ṣe, ṣùgbọ́n kì í ṣe nípa nǹkan tí ara, tí a ó fi máa gbé nípa ti ara.
Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.
13 Nítorí pé bí ẹ̀yin bá ń tẹ̀lé, ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ti ara ẹ̀yin yóò sọnù, ẹ ó sì ṣègbé, ṣùgbọ́n bí ó bá jẹ́ ń gbé nípa ti ara, ẹ̀yin yóò kú, ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹ̀yín bá ń gbé nípa ti Ẹ̀mí, ẹ ó pa iṣẹ́ ti ara run, ẹ̀yin yóò yè.
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14 Nítorí pé, iye àwọn tí Ẹ̀mí Ọlọ́run bá ń darí ni ọmọ Ọlọ́run.
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
15 Nítorí ẹ̀yin kò tún gba ẹ̀mí ẹrú láti máa bẹ̀rù mọ́; ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin gba ẹ̀mí ìsọdọmọ, nípa èyí tí àwa fi ń ké pé “Ábbà, Baba.”
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
16 Nítorí Ẹ̀mí mímọ́ ń sọ̀rọ̀ ìjìnlẹ̀ nínú ọkàn wa, ó sì ń sọ fún wa pé, nítòótọ́, àwa jẹ́ ọmọ Ọlọ́run.
The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
17 Níwọ́n ìgbà tí a jẹ́ ọmọ rẹ̀, ǹjẹ́ ajogún ni àwa, ajogún Ọlọ́run, àti àjùmọ̀jogún pẹ̀lú Kristi, bí ó bá ṣe àwa jìyà, kí a sì le ṣe wá lógo pẹ̀lú rẹ̀.
And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him.
18 Síbẹ̀síbẹ̀, ìyà tí a ń jẹ nísinsin yìí kò jámọ́ nǹkan nígbà tí a bá fiwé ògo tí yóò fún wa ní ìkẹyìn.
I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us.
19 Nítorí ẹ̀dá ń dúró ní ìfojúsọ́nà de ìfihàn àwọn ọmọ Ọlọ́run.
The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God.
20 Nítorí a tẹrí ẹ̀dá ba fún asán, kì í ṣe bí òun ti fẹ́, ṣùgbọ́n nípa ìfẹ́ ẹni tí ó tẹ orí rẹ̀ ba ní ìrètí.
For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope
21 Nítorí a ó sọ ẹ̀dá tìkára rẹ̀ di òmìnira kúrò nínú ẹrú ìdíbàjẹ́, sí òmìnira ògo àwọn ọmọ Ọlọ́run.
that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
22 Nítorí àwa mọ̀ pé gbogbo ẹ̀dá ni ó jùmọ̀ ń kérora tí ó sì ń rọbí pọ̀ títí di ìsinsin yìí.
We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time.
23 Kì í ṣe àwọn nìkan, ṣùgbọ́n àwa tìkára wa pẹ̀lú, a ni àkóso ẹ̀mí, àní àwa tìkára wa ń kérora nínú ara wa, àwa ń dúró de ìsọdọmọ àní ìdáǹdè ara wa.
Not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
24 Nítorí nípa ìrètí ni a fi gbà wá là, ṣùgbọ́n ìrètí tí a bá rí kì í ṣe ìrètí nítorí ta ni ń retí ohun tí ó bá rí?
For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see?
25 Ṣùgbọ́n bí àwa bá ń retí èyí tí àwa kò rí, ǹjẹ́ àwa ń fi sùúrù dúró dè é.
But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently.
26 Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni ẹ̀mí pẹ̀lú sì ń ran àìlera wa lọ́wọ́: nítorí a kò mọ bí a ti ń gbàdúrà gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti yẹ, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀mí tìkára rẹ̀ ń fi ìrora tí a kò le fi ẹnu sọ bẹ̀bẹ̀ fún wa.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.
27 Ẹni tí ó sì ń wá inú ọkàn wò, ó mọ ohun ti ẹ̀mí, nítorí tí ó ń bẹ̀bẹ̀ fún àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìfẹ́ Ọlọ́run.
And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
28 Àwa sì mọ̀ pé ohun gbogbo ni ó ń ṣiṣẹ́ pọ̀ sí rere fún àwọn tí ó fẹ́ Ọlọ́run, àní fún àwọn ẹni tí a pè gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìpinnu rẹ̀.
And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.
29 Nítorí àwọn ẹni tí ó mọ̀ tẹ́lẹ̀, ni ó sì yàn tẹ́lẹ̀ láti rí bí àwòrán ọmọ rẹ̀, kí òun lè jẹ́ àkọ́bí láàrín àwọn arákùnrin púpọ̀.
For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.
30 Àti pé lẹ́yìn tí òun ti pè wá wá sọ́dọ̀ ara rẹ̀, ó sọ wá di aláìjẹ̀bi lẹ́yìn èyí, ó fi rere Kristi kún inú ọkàn wa. Lékè gbogbo rẹ̀, ó fún wa ní ìdúró rere pẹ̀lú rẹ̀, ó sì pinu ògo rẹ̀ fún wa.
And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.
31 Kí ni àwa yóò wí nísinsin yìí sí nǹkan ìyanu wọ̀nyí? Bí Ọlọ́run bá wà pẹ̀lú wa, ta ni yóò kọjú ìjà sí wa?
What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 Níwọ̀n ìgbà tí Ọlọ́run ti fi Ọmọ rẹ̀ fún wa, ǹjẹ́ ó ha tún le ṣòro fún un láti fún wa ní ohunkóhun bí?
He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?
33 Ta ni ẹni náà tí ó lè dá wa lẹ́bi, àwa ẹni tí Ọlọ́run ti yàn fún ara rẹ̀. Ǹjẹ́ Ọlọ́run yóò dá wa lẹ́bi? Bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́! Òun ni ẹni tí ó dáríjì wá, tí ó sì fi wá sípò tí ó dára lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀.
Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
34 Ta ni ẹni náà tí yóò dá wa lẹ́bi? Kò sí. Kristi Jesu tí ó kú, kí a sá à kúkú wí pé tí a ti jí dìde kúrò nínú òkú, ẹni tí ó sì wà ní ọwọ́ ọ̀tún Ọlọ́run, tó sì ń bẹ̀bẹ̀ fún wa?
Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
36 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ti kọ ọ́ pé: “Nítorí rẹ̀ ni a ṣe ń pa wá kú ní gbogbo ọjọ́; À ń kà wá sí bí àgùntàn fún pípa.”
As it is written: “For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 Ṣùgbọ́n nínú gbogbo nǹkan wọ̀nyí, àwa ju ẹni tí ó ṣẹ́gun lọ nípasẹ̀ Kristi ẹni tí ó fẹ́ wa.
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
38 Nítorí pé ó dá mi lójú gbangba pé, kì í ṣe ikú tàbí ìyè, kì í ṣe àwọn angẹli tàbí ẹ̀mí èṣù, kì í ṣe ohun ìgbà ìsinsin yìí tàbí ohun tí ó ń bọ̀, tàbí àwọn agbára,
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39 tàbí òkè, tàbí ọ̀gbun, tàbí ohunkóhun nínú ìṣẹ̀dá ni yóò le yà wá kúrò nínú ìfẹ́ Ọlọ́run tí ó ń bẹ nínú Kristi Jesu, Olúwa wa.
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
