< Romans 2 >
1 Nítorí náà, aláìríwí ni ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó wù kí ó jẹ́ tí ń dá ni lẹ́jọ́, nítorí nínú ohun tí ìwọ ń ṣe ìdájọ́ ẹlòmíràn, ìwọ ń dá ara rẹ lẹ́bi; nítorí ìwọ tí ń dájọ́ ń ṣe ohun kan náà nínú èyí tí ìwọ ń dá ni lẹ́jọ́.
Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoeuer thou art that condemnest: for in that that thou condemnest another, thou condemnest thy selfe: for thou that condemnest, doest the same things.
2 Ṣùgbọ́n àwa mọ̀ pé ìdájọ́ Ọlọ́run jẹ́ òtítọ́ si gbogbo àwọn tí ó ń ṣe irú ohun báwọ̀nyí.
But we know that the iudgement of God is according to trueth, against them which comit such things.
3 Nítorí bí ìwọ tí ń ṣe ènìyàn lásán bá ń ṣe ìdájọ́ àwọn tí ń ṣe irú ohun báwọ̀nyí, tí ìwọ tìkára rẹ ń ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀, ìwọ ro èyí pé ìwọ o yọ nínú ìdájọ́ Ọlọ́run bí?
And thinkest thou this, O thou man, that condemnest them which doe such thinges, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the iudgement of God?
4 Tàbí ìwọ ń gàn ọrọ̀ oore àti ìpamọ́ra àti sùúrù rẹ̀? Ìwọ kò ha mọ̀ pé oore Ọlọ́run ni ó ń fà ọ́ lọ sì ìrònúpìwàdà?
Or despisest thou the riches of his bountifulnesse, and patience, and long sufferance, not knowing that the bountifulnesse of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 Ṣùgbọ́n gẹ́gẹ́ bí líle àti àìronúpìwàdà ọkàn rẹ̀, ìwọ ń to ìbínú jọ fún ara rẹ de ọjọ́ ìbínú àti ìfihàn ìdájọ́ òdodo Ọlọ́run.
But thou, after thine hardnesse, and heart that canot repent, heapest vp as a treasure vnto thy selfe wrath against the day of wrath, and of the declaration of the iust iudgement of God,
6 Ọlọ́run yóò san án fún olúkúlùkù gẹ́gẹ́ bí iṣẹ́ rẹ̀.
Who wil reward euery man according to his woorkes:
7 Àwọn ẹni tí ń fi sùúrù nínú rere ṣíṣe, wá ògo àti ọlá àti àìdíbàjẹ́ ni yóò fi ìyè àìnípẹ̀kun fún. (aiōnios )
That is, to them which through patience in well doing, seeke glorie, and honour, and immortalitie, euerlasting life: (aiōnios )
8 Ṣùgbọ́n fún àwọn onímọ̀-tara-ẹni-nìkan, tí wọn kò sì gba òtítọ́ gbọ́, ṣùgbọ́n tí wọn ń tẹ̀lé ọ̀nà búburú, wọn yóò ní ìrírí ìrunú àti ìbínú rẹ̀.
But vnto them that are contentious and disobey the trueth, and obey vnrighteousnesse, shalbe indignation and wrath.
9 Ìpọ́njú àti ìrora, yóò wà lórí olúkúlùkù ọkàn ènìyàn tí ń hùwà ibi: ti Júù ṣáájú, àti àwọn Helleni pẹ̀lú;
Tribulation and anguish shalbe vpon the soule of euery man that doeth euill: of the Iewe first, and also of the Grecian.
10 ṣùgbọ́n ògo, àti ọlá, àti àlàáfíà, fún olúkúlùkù ẹni tí ń hùwà rere, fún Júù, ṣáájú àti fún àwọn Helleni pẹ̀lú.
But to euery man that doeth good, shalbe glory, and honour, and peace: to the Iew first, and also to the Grecian.
11 Nítorí Ọlọ́run kì í ṣe ojúsàájú ènìyàn.
For there is no respect of persons with God.
12 Gbogbo àwọn tí ó ṣẹ̀ ní àìlófin wọn ó sì ṣègbé láìlófin, àti iye àwọn tí ó ṣẹ̀ lábẹ́ òfin, àwọn ni a ó fi òfin dá lẹ́jọ́.
For as many as haue sinned without the Lawe, shall perish also without the Lawe: and as many as haue sinned in the Lawe, shall be iudged by the Lawe,
13 Nítorí kì í ṣe àwọn olùgbọ́ òfin ni ẹni ìdáláre lọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn olùṣe òfin ni a ó dá láre.
(For the hearers of the Lawe are not righteous before God: but the doers of the Lawe shalbe iustified.
14 Nítorí nígbà tí àwọn aláìkọlà, tí kò ní òfin, bá ṣe ohun tí ó wà nínú òfin nípa ìwà ẹ̀dá, àwọn wọ̀nyí, jẹ́ òfin fún ara wọn bí wọn kò tilẹ̀ ní òfin.
For when the Gentiles which haue not the Lawe, doe by nature, the things conteined in the Lawe, they hauing not the Lawe, are a Lawe vnto themselues,
15 Àwọn ẹni tí ó fihàn pé, a kọ̀wé iṣẹ́ òfin sí wọn lọ́kàn, tí ẹ̀rí ọkàn wọn pẹ̀lú sì tún ń jẹ́ wọn lẹ́rìí, àti pé, èrò ọkàn wọn tí ó jẹ́ ọ̀nà ìfinisùn, sì ń gbè wọ́n lẹ́yìn ní ìsinsin yìí.
Which shew the effect of the Lawe written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witnes, and their thoughts accusing one another, or excusing, )
16 Èyí yóò farahàn ní ọjọ́ náà nígbà tí Ọlọ́run yóò tipasẹ̀ Jesu Kristi ṣe ìdájọ́ àwọn àṣírí ènìyàn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìyìnrere mi.
At the day when God shall iudge the secretes of men by Iesus Christ, according to my Gospel.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n bí a bá ń pe ìwọ ní Júù, tí o sì sinmi lé òfin, tí o sì ń ṣògo nínú ìbálòpọ̀ rẹ̀ sí Ọlọ́run,
Beholde, thou art called a Iewe, and restest in the Lawe, and gloriest in God,
18 tí o sì mọ ìfẹ́ rẹ̀, tí o sì fọwọ́sí ohun tí ó dára jùlọ, nítorí tí a ti kọ́ ọ ní òfin;
And knowest his will, and triest the things that dissent from it, in that thou art instructed by the Lawe:
19 tí o sì dá ara rẹ lójú pé ìwọ ni amọ̀nà àwọn afọ́jú, ìmọ́lẹ̀ fún àwọn tí ó wà ni òkùnkùn,
And persuadest thy selfe that thou art a guide of the blinde, a light of them which are in darkenesse,
20 Olùkọ́ àwọn aláìmòye, olùkọ́ àwọn ọmọdé, ẹni tí ó ní ètò ìmọ̀ àti òtítọ́ òfin lọ́wọ́.
An instructer of them which lacke discretion, a teacher of the vnlearned, which hast the forme of knowledge, and of the truth in ye Law.
21 Ǹjẹ́ ìwọ tí o ń kọ́ ẹlòmíràn, ìwọ kò kọ́ ara rẹ? Ìwọ tí ó ń wàásù kí ènìyàn má jalè, ìwọ ha ń jalè bí?
Thou therefore, which teachest another, teachest thou not thy selfe? thou that preachest, A man should not steale, doest thou steale?
22 Ìwọ tí o wí pé, kí ènìyàn má ṣe panṣágà, ìwọ ń ṣe panṣágà bí? Ìwọ tí o kórìíra òrìṣà, ìwọ ń ja tẹmpili ní olè bí?
Thou that saist, A man should not commit adulterie, doest thou commit adulterie? thou that abhorrest idoles, committest thou sacrilege?
23 Ìwọ ti ń ṣògo nínú òfin, ìwọ ha ń bu Ọlọ́run ni ọlá kù nípa rírú òfin?
Thou that gloriest in the Lawe, through breaking the Lawe, dishonourest thou God?
24 Nítorí gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ti kọ ọ́, “Orúkọ Ọlọ́run sá à di ìsọ̀rọ̀-òdì sí láàrín àwọn aláìkọlà nítorí yín.”
For ye Name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.
25 Nítorí ìkọlà ní èrè nítòótọ́, bí ìwọ bá pa òfin mọ́; ṣùgbọ́n bí ìwọ bá jẹ́ arúfin, ìkọlà rẹ di àìkọlà.
For circucision verely is profitable, if thou do the Lawe: but if thou be a transgressour of the Lawe, thy circumcision is made vncircumcision.
26 Nítorí náà bí àwọn aláìkọlà bá pa ìlànà òfin mọ́, a kì yóò ha kà wọ́n sí àwọn tí a kọ nílà bí?
Therefore if the vncircumcision keepe the ordinances of the Lawe, shall not his vncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
27 Aláìkọlà nípa àdánidá, bí ó bá pa òfin mọ́, yóò dá ẹ̀bi fún ìwọ tí ó jẹ́ arúfin nípa ti àkọsílẹ̀ òfin àti ìkọlà.
And shall not vncircumcision which is by nature (if it keepe the Lawe) condemne thee which by the letter and circumcision art a transgressour of the Lawe?
28 Kì í ṣe èyí tí ó farahàn ní òde ni Júù, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì í ṣe èyí tí ó farahàn ní ara ni ìkọlà.
For hee is not a Iewe, which is one outwarde: neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 Ṣùgbọ́n Júù ti inú ni Júù, àti ìkọlà sì ni ti ọkàn nínú ẹ̀mí tí kì í ṣe ti àkọsílẹ̀, ìyìn ẹni tí kò sí lọ́dọ̀ ènìyàn, bí kò ṣe lọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run.
But he is a Iewe which is one within, and the circumcision is of the heart, in the spirite not in the letter, whose praise is not of men, but of God.
