< Psalms 90 >

1 Àdúrà Mose ènìyàn Ọlọ́run. Olúwa, ìwọ ti jẹ́ ibùgbé wa ní gbogbo ìran dé ìran.
A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, you have been a home to us one generation after another.
2 Kí a tó bí àwọn òkè ńlá àti kí ìwọ tó dá ilẹ̀ àti ayé, láti ayérayé dé ayérayé ìwọ ni Ọlọ́run.
Before the mountains were born, or the earth and the world were brought forth, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
3 Ìwọ yí ènìyàn padà sí erùpẹ̀, wí pé, “Padà sí erùpẹ̀, ìwọ ọmọ ènìyàn.”
You bring us back to the dust, you summon mortals to return.
4 Nítorí pé ìgbà tí ẹgbẹ̀rún ọdún bá kọjá lójú rẹ, bí àná ni ó rí, bí ìgbà ìṣọ́ kan lóru.
For you see a thousand years as the passing of yesterday, as a watch in the night.
5 Ìwọ gbá ènìyàn dànù nínú oorun ikú; wọ́n dàbí koríko tuntun ní òwúrọ̀.
Your floods sweep them away; they are like a dream, or like grass which sprouts in the morning,
6 Lóòtítọ́, ní òwúrọ̀, ó yọ tuntun ní àṣálẹ́ ni yóò gbẹ, tí yóò sì rẹ̀ dànù.
which blossoms and sprouts in the morning, but by evening is cut and withered.
7 A pa wá run nípa ìbínú rẹ nípa ìbínú rẹ ara kò rọ̀ wá.
For your anger consumes us, the heat of your wrath confounds us.
8 Ìwọ ti gbé ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wa ka iwájú rẹ, àti ohun ìkọ̀kọ̀ wa nínú ìmọ́lẹ̀ iwájú rẹ.
Our sins you have set before you, our secrets in the light of your face.
9 Gbogbo ọjọ́ wa ń kọjá lọ lábẹ́ ìbínú rẹ; àwa ń lo ọjọ́ wa lọ bí àlá tí à ń rọ́.
For through your wrath our days are declining, we bring our years to an end as a sigh.
10 Àádọ́rin ọdún ni iye ọjọ́ ọdún wá, bi ó sì ṣe pé nípa agbára tí wọn bá tó ọgọ́rin ọdún, agbára nínú làálàá pẹ̀lú ìbànújẹ́ ni, nítorí pé a kò ní pẹ́ gé e kúrò, àwa a sì fò lọ.
The span of our life is seventy years, or, if we are strong, maybe eighty; yet is their breadth but empty toil, for swiftly they go, and we fly away.
11 Ta ni ó mọ agbára ìbínú rẹ? Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀rù rẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ìbínú rẹ.
Who lays to heart the power of your anger? Or who stands in reverent awe of your wrath?
12 Kọ́ wa bí a ti ń kaye ọjọ́ wa dáradára, kí àwa ba à lè fi ọkàn wa sípa ọgbọ́n.
O teach us to count our days so our minds may learn wisdom.
13 Yípadà, Olúwa! Yóò ti pẹ́ tó? Ṣàánú fún àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ.
Return, O Lord; why so long? Relent on your servants.
14 Tẹ́ wa lọ́rùn ní òwúrọ̀ nínú ìṣeun ìfẹ́ rẹ, kí àwa kí ó lè kọrin fún ayọ̀ kí inú wa sì dùn ní gbogbo ọjọ́.
Grant us your love to the full in the morning, that all our days we may shout for joy.
15 Mú inú wa dùn bí ọjọ́ tí ìwọ ti pọ́n wa lójú, fún ọjọ́ púpọ̀ tí àwa ti rí wàhálà.
Make us glad for the days you have humbled us, for the evil years we have seen.
16 Jẹ́ kí a fi iṣẹ́ rẹ̀ han àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀, ògo rẹ̀ sí àwọn ọmọ wọn.
Let your servants see you in action, show your majesty to their children.
17 Jẹ́ kí ẹwà Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa wà lára wa; fi ìdí iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ wa múlẹ̀ lára wa, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, kí ó sì fi ìdí iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ wa múlẹ̀.
Let the grace of the Lord our God be upon us, uphold what our hands are striving to do.
