< Psalms 9 >
1 Fún adarí orin. Ní ti ohun orin. “Ní ti ikú ọmọ.” Saamu ti Dafidi. Èmi ó yìn ọ́, Olúwa, pẹ̀lú gbogbo ọkàn mi; èmi ó sọ ti ìyanu rẹ gbogbo.
For the music director. According to Muth-labben. A psalm of David. I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the amazing things you have done.
2 Inú mi yóò dùn, èmi yóò sì yọ̀ nínú rẹ; èmi ó kọrin ìyìn sí orúkọ rẹ, Ìwọ Ọ̀gá-Ògo jùlọ.
I will be glad and celebrate in you; I will sing praises to your wonderful nature, Most High God.
3 Àwọn ọ̀tá mi pẹ̀yìndà; wọ́n kọsẹ̀ wọn sì ṣègbé níwájú rẹ.
Those who hate me retreat; they fall back and die when you confront them.
4 Nítorí ìwọ ti di òtítọ́ àti ọ̀ràn mi mú; ìwọ ti jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ rẹ, láti ṣe ìdájọ́ òdodo.
For you have judged that I am right; you have decided fairly from your throne of judgment.
5 Ìwọ ti bá orílẹ̀-èdè wí, Ìwọ sì ti pa ẹni búburú run; Ìwọ ti yọ orúkọ wọn kúrò láé àti láéláé.
You have condemned the nations; you have destroyed the wicked; you have wiped out their names forever and ever.
6 Ìparun àìlópin ti borí àwọn ọ̀tá, ìwọ ti fa àwọn ìlú wọn tu; àní ìrántí wọn sì ti ṣègbé.
The enemies are finished, ruined forever; their cities are destroyed—even the memory of them is gone.
7 Olúwa jẹ ọba títí láé; ó ti gbé ìtẹ́ rẹ̀ kalẹ̀ fún ìdájọ́.
But the Lord rules forever, his throne is set up for judgment.
8 Òun yóò sì ṣe ìdájọ́ ayé ní òdodo; yóò ṣe àkóso ènìyàn pẹ̀lú òdodo.
The Lord judges the world rightly; he judges the nations fairly.
9 Olúwa ni ààbò fún àwọn tí a ni lára, ibi ìsádi ní àkókò ìpọ́njú.
The Lord is a place of safety for those who are oppressed, a fortress in times of trouble.
10 Àwọn tí ó mọ orúkọ rẹ yóò gbẹ́kẹ̀lé ọ, nítorí, Olúwa, kò kọ àwọn tó ń wá a sílẹ̀.
Those who know your nature trust in you, for you don't abandon those who come to you.
11 Kọ orin ìyìn sí Olúwa, tí o ń jẹ ọba ní Sioni; kéde láàrín àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè, ohun tí ó ṣe.
Sing praises to the Lord who reigns in Zion! Tell the nations what he has done!
12 Nítorí ẹni tí ó ń gbẹ̀san ẹ̀jẹ̀ rántí; òun kò kọ ẹkún àwọn tí a pọ́n lójú.
He does not forget to punish murderers; he does not ignore the cries of the suffering.
13 Olúwa, wo bí àwọn ọ̀tá ṣe ń ṣe inúnibíni sí mi! Ṣàánú, kí o sì gbé mí sókè kúrò ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà ikú,
Be gracious to me, Lord! Look at how my enemies are persecuting me! Grab me back from the gates of death,
14 kí èmi kí ó lè sọ ti ìyìn rẹ ni ẹnu-ọ̀nà àwọn ọmọbìnrin Sioni àti láti máa yọ̀ nínú ìgbàlà rẹ.
so I can praise you at Zion's gates, happy that you have saved me.
15 Àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè ti jì sí kòtò tí wọn ti gbẹ́; ẹsẹ̀ wọn ni àwọ̀n tí wọ́n dẹ sílẹ̀ kọ́.
The nations have fallen into their own pit they dug; their feet are trapped by their own net they set.
16 A mọ Olúwa nípa òdodo rẹ̀; àwọn ènìyàn búburú ni a dẹ́kun mú nípa iṣẹ́ ọwọ́ wọn.
The Lord is known for his fairness; the wicked are trapped by their own actions. (Higgaion, Selah)
17 Àwọn ènìyàn búburú ni a ó dà sí isà òkú, àti gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè tí ó gbàgbé Ọlọ́run. (Sheol )
The wicked depart, going to the grave—all nations who turn their backs on God. (Sheol )
18 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn aláìní ni a kò ní gbàgbé láéláé, ìrètí àwọn ti ó tálákà ni a kì yóò gbàgbé láéláé.
But the needy will not be ignored forever, the hope of those who suffer will not always be dashed.
19 Dìde, Olúwa, má ṣe jẹ́ kí ènìyàn borí; jẹ́ kí a ṣe ìdájọ́ àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè ni iwájú rẹ.
Stand up, Lord! Don't let human beings win! Let the nations be brought before you for judgment!
20 Lù wọ́n pẹ̀lú ìpayà, Olúwa; jẹ́ kí àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè mọ̀ pé ènìyàn lásán ni wọ́n. (Sela)
Lord, terrify them! Let them know they are only human! (Selah)
