< Psalms 89 >
1 Maskili ti Etani ará Esra. Èmi kọrin títóbi ìfẹ́ Olúwa títí láé; pẹ̀lú ẹnu mi ní èmi yóò jẹ́ kí a mọ òtítọ́ rẹ láti ìran dé ìran.
A Psalme to give instruction, of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing the mercies of the Lord for euer: with my mouth will I declare thy trueth from generation to generation.
2 Èmi ó wí pé, ìfẹ́ rẹ dúró títí láé, pé ìwọ gbe òtítọ́ rẹ kalẹ̀ ní ọ̀run fúnra rẹ̀.
For I said, Mercie shalbe set vp for euer: thy trueth shalt thou stablish in ye very heauens.
3 Ìwọ wí pé, “Èmi ti dá májẹ̀mú pẹ̀lú àwọn àyànfẹ́ mi mo ti búra fún Dafidi ìránṣẹ́ mi.
I haue made a couenant with my chosen: I haue sworne to Dauid my seruant,
4 ‘Èmi ó fi ìdí irú-ọmọ rẹ múlẹ̀ títí láé èmí ó sì máa gbe ìtẹ́ rẹ ró láti ìran dé ìran.’”
Thy seede will I stablish for euer, and set vp thy throne from generation to generation. (Selah)
5 Àwọn ọ̀run yóò máa yin iṣẹ́ ìyanu rẹ, Olúwa, òtítọ́ rẹ ni ìpéjọpọ̀ àwọn ẹni mímọ́.
O Lord, euen the heauens shall prayse thy wonderous worke: yea, thy trueth in the Congregation of the Saints.
6 Ta ni ó wà ní ọ̀run tí a lè fiwé Olúwa? Ta ni nínú àwọn ọmọ alágbára ti a lè fiwé Olúwa?
For who is equall to the Lord in the heauen? and who is like the Lord among the sonnes of the gods?
7 Nínú àjọ ìgbìmọ̀ ẹni mímọ́, wọ́n bẹ̀rù Ọlọ́run gidigidi; ó sì ní ìbùyìn fún ju gbogbo àwọn tí ó yí i ká.
God is very terrible in the assemblie of the Saints, and to be reuerenced aboue all, that are about him.
8 Olúwa Ọlọ́run alágbára, ta ló dàbí rẹ ìwọ jẹ́ alágbára, Olúwa, òtítọ́ rẹ sì yí ọ ká.
O Lord God of hostes, who is like vnto thee, which art a mightie Lord, and thy trueth is about thee?
9 Ìwọ ń darí ríru omi Òkun; nígbà tí ó ru àwọn omi sókè, ìwọ mú wọn parọ́rọ́.
Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waues thereof arise, thou stillest them.
10 Ìwọ ni ó ti ya Rahabu pẹ́rẹpẹ̀rẹ bí ẹni tí a pa; ìwọ ti fi apá ọwọ́ agbára rẹ tú àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ ká.
Thou hast beaten downe Rahab as a man slaine: thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy mightie arme.
11 Tìrẹ ní àwọn ọ̀run, ayé pẹ̀lú jẹ́ tìrẹ: ayé àti ohun gbogbo tí ó wà nínú rẹ̀: ìwọ ti gbé wọn kalẹ̀.
The heauens are thine, the earth also is thine: thou hast layde the foundation of the world, and all that therein is.
12 Gúúsù àti àríwá ìwọ ni ó dá wọn; Tabori àti Hermoni ń fi ayọ̀ yin orúkọ rẹ.
Thou hast created the North and the South: Tabor and Hermon shall reioyce in thy Name.
13 Ìwọ ní apá agbára; agbára ní ọwọ́ rẹ, gíga ní ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ.
Thou hast a mightie arme: strong is thine hand, and high is thy right hand.
14 Òdodo àti òtítọ́ ni ìpìlẹ̀ ìtẹ́ rẹ: ìdúró ṣinṣin ìfẹ́ àti òtítọ́ ń lọ síwájú rẹ.
Righteousnesse and equitie are the stablishment of thy throne: mercy and trueth goe before thy face.
15 Ìbùkún ni fún àwọn ènìyàn tí wọn mọ ohùn ayọ̀ nì, Olúwa wọ́n ó máa rìn ní ìmọ́lẹ̀ ojú rẹ.
Blessed is the people, that can reioyce in thee: they shall walke in the light of thy countenance, O Lord.
16 Wọn ń ṣògo nínú orúkọ rẹ̀ ní gbogbo ọjọ́, wọn ń yin òdodo rẹ.
They shall reioyce continually in thy Name, and in thy righteousnes shall they exalt them selues.
17 Nítorí ìwọ ni ògo agbára wọn; nípa ojúrere ni ìwo wá ń ṣògo.
For thou art the glory of their strength, and by thy fauour our hornes shall be exalted.
18 Nítorí ti Olúwa ni asà wa, ọba wa sì ni Ẹni Mímọ́ Israẹli.
For our shield apperteineth to the Lord, and our King to the holy one of Israel.
19 Nígbà náà ni ìwọ sọ̀rọ̀ nínú ìran, sí àwọn olóòtítọ́ rẹ, wí pé, “Èmi ti gbé adé kalẹ̀ sórí ẹni tí ó lágbára, èmi ti gbé ẹni tí a yàn láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn ga.
Thou spakest then in a vision vnto thine Holy one, and saydest, I haue layde helpe vpon one that is mightie: I haue exalted one chosen out of the people.
20 Èmi ti rí Dafidi ìránṣẹ́ mi; pẹ̀lú òróró mímọ́ mi ni mo fi yàn án.
I haue found Dauid my seruant: with mine holy oyle haue I anoynted him.
21 Ìgbà gbogbo ni ọwọ́ mi yóò máa wà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ apá mí yóò sì fi agbára fún un.
Therefore mine hande shall be established with him, and mine arme shall strengthen him.
22 Àwọn ọ̀tá kì yóò borí rẹ̀, àwọn ènìyàn búburú kì yóò rẹ̀ ẹ́ sílẹ̀.
The enemie shall not oppresse him, neither shall the wicked hurt him.
23 Èmi yóò run àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ níwájú rẹ èmi yóò lu àwọn tí ó kórìíra rẹ bolẹ̀.
But I will destroy his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.
24 Òtítọ́ mi àti ìdúró ṣinṣin ìfẹ́ yóò wà pẹ̀lú rẹ àti ní orúkọ mi ni a ó gbé ìwo rẹ ga.
My trueth also and my mercie shall be with him, and in my Name shall his horne be exalted.
25 Èmi ó gbé ọwọ́ rẹ lórí òkun, àti ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ lórí àwọn odo ńlá.
I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the floods.
26 Òun yóò kígbe sí mi pé, ‘Ìwọ ni baba mi, Ọlọ́run mi, àti àpáta ìgbàlà mi!’
He shall cry vnto mee, Thou art my Father, my God and the rocke of my saluation.
27 Èmi yóò ṣe é ni àkọ́bí mi, ẹni gíga ju àwọn ọba ayé.
Also I wil make him my first borne, higher then the Kings of the earth.
28 Títí láé ni èmi yóò pa ìfẹ́ dídúró ṣinṣin mọ́ fún un, àti májẹ̀mú mi pẹ̀lú rẹ̀ yóò dúró gbọingbọin.
My mercie will I keepe for him for euermore, and my couenant shall stande fast with him.
29 Èmi ó fi ìdí irú-ọmọ rẹ̀ múlẹ̀ títí láé, àti ìtẹ́ rẹ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀run ti wà láé.
His seede also will I make to endure for euer, and his throne as the dayes of heauen.
30 “Bí àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ bá kọ òfin mi sílẹ̀ tí wọn kò sì rìn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìlànà mi.
But if his children forsake my Lawe, and walke not in my iudgements:
31 Tí wọn bá ba ìlànà mi jẹ́ tí wọn kò sì pa àṣẹ mi mọ́,
If they breake my statutes, and keepe not my commandements:
32 nígbà náà ni èmi ó fì ọ̀gọ̀ bẹ ìrékọjá wọn wò; àti ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn pẹ̀lú pàṣán;
Then will I visite their transgression with the rod, and their iniquitie with strokes.
33 ṣùgbọ́n èmi kò ní mú ìfẹ́ mi tí ó dúró ṣinṣin kúrò lọ́dọ̀ rẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kì yóò jẹ́ kí òtítọ́ mi kí ó yẹ̀.
Yet my louing kindnesse will I not take from him, neither will I falsifie my trueth.
34 Èmi kì yóò sẹ́ májẹ̀mú mi, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kì yóò yí ọ̀rọ̀ tí ó ti ẹnu mi jáde padà.
My couenant wil I not breake, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
35 Lẹ́ẹ̀kan ṣoṣo ni èmi ti fi ìwà mímọ́ mi búra; èmi kì yóò purọ́ fún Dafidi.
I haue sworne once by mine holines, that I will not fayle Dauid, saying,
36 Irú-ọmọ rẹ yóò dúró títí láé, àti ìtẹ́ rẹ̀ yóò dúró bí oòrùn níwájú mi.
His seede shall endure for euer, and his throne shalbe as the sunne before me.
37 A ó fi múlẹ̀ títí láé bí òṣùpá, àti bi ẹlẹ́rìí òtítọ́ ni ọ̀run.” (Sela)
He shalbe established for euermore as the moone, and as a faythfull witnes in the heauen. (Selah)
38 Ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí ìwọ ti ṣá tì, ìwọ sì kórìíra; ìwọ kún fún ìrunú sí ẹni àmì òróró rẹ.
But thou hast reiected and abhorred, thou hast bene angry with thine Anoynted.
39 Ìwọ ti sọ májẹ̀mú ìránṣẹ́ rẹ di òfo; ìwọ tàbùkù adé rẹ nínú eruku.
Thou hast broken the couenant of thy seruant, and profaned his crowne, casting it on the ground.
40 Ìwọ ti wó gbogbo àwọn odi rẹ̀ ìwọ sọ ibi gíga rẹ̀ di ahoro.
Thou hast broken downe all his walles: thou hast layd his fortresses in ruine.
41 Àwọn tí ń kọjá lọ fi ṣe ìjẹ; ó ti di ẹ̀gàn àwọn olùbágbé rẹ̀.
All that goe by the way, spoyle him: he is a rebuke vnto his neighbours.
42 Ìwọ ti gbé ọwọ́ ọ̀tún ọ̀tá rẹ̀ sókè; ìwọ mú gbogbo ọ̀tá rẹ̀ yọ̀.
Thou hast set vp the right hand of his enemies, and made all his aduersaries to reioyce.
43 Pẹ̀lú, ìwọ ti yí ojú idà rẹ̀ padà, ìwọ kò sì dúró tì í nínú ogun.
Thou hast also turned the edge of his sworde, and hast not made him to stand in the battell.
44 Ìwọ ti mú ògo rẹ̀ kùnà, ìwọ si wó ìtẹ́ rẹ̀ palẹ̀ sílẹ̀ẹ́lẹ̀.
Thou hast caused his dignitie to decay, and cast his throne to the ground.
45 Ìwọ ti gé ọjọ́ èwe rẹ̀ kúrú; ìwọ sì fi ìtìjú bò ó.
The dayes of his youth hast thou shortned, and couered him with shame. (Selah)
46 Yóò ti pẹ́ tó, Olúwa? Tí ìwọ ó ha fi ara rẹ pamọ́ títí láé? Yóò ti pẹ́ to tí ìbínú rẹ yóò máa jó bí iná?
Lord, howe long wilt thou hide thy selfe, for euer? shall thy wrath burne like fire?
47 Rántí bí ọjọ́ mi ti kúrú tó nítorí asán ha ni ìwọ fi ṣẹ̀dá àwọn ènìyàn!
Remember of what time I am: wherefore shouldest thou create in vaine all the children of men?
48 Ta ni yóò wà láààyè tí kò ní rí ikú rẹ̀? Ta ló lè sá kúrò nínú agbára isà òkú? (Sheol )
What man liueth, and shall not see death? shall hee deliuer his soule from the hande of the graue? (Selah) (Sheol )
49 Olúwa, níbo ni ìṣeun ìfẹ́ rẹ àtijọ́ wà, tí ìwọ ti fi òtítọ́ rẹ búra fún Dafidi?
Lord, where are thy former mercies, which thou swarest vnto Dauid in thy trueth?
50 Rántí, Olúwa, bí a ti ń gan àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ; bí èmi ti gbà ní àyà mi láti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn,
Remember, O Lord, the rebuke of thy seruants, which I beare in my bosome of all the mightie people.
51 ẹ̀gàn tí àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ gàn, Olúwa, tí wọn gan ipasẹ̀ ẹni àmì òróró rẹ.
For thine enemies haue reproched thee, O Lord, because they haue reproched the footesteps of thine Anointed.
52 Olùbùkún ní Olúwa títí láé.
Praised be the Lord for euermore. So be it, euen so be it.
