< Psalms 88 >
1 Orin. Saamu ti àwọn ọmọ Kora. Fún adarí orin. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ti mahalati leannoti. Maskili ti Hemani ará Esra. Olúwa, Ọlọ́run tí ó gbà mí là, ní ọ̀sán àti ní òru, mo kígbe sókè sí Ọ.
A Canticle Psalm to the sons of Korah. Unto the end. For Mahalath, to answer the understanding of Heman the Ezrahite. O Lord, God of my salvation: I have cried out, day and night, in your presence.
2 Jẹ́ kí àdúrà mi kí ó wá sí iwájú rẹ; dẹ etí rẹ sí igbe mi.
Let my prayer enter in your sight. Incline your ear to my petition.
3 Nítorí ọkàn mi kún fún ìpọ́njú ọkàn mi sì súnmọ́ isà òkú. (Sheol )
For my soul has been filled with evils, and my life has drawn near to Hell. (Sheol )
4 A kà mí mọ́ àwọn tí wọ́n lọ sí ọ̀gbun ilẹ̀ èmi dàbí ọkùnrin tí kò ni agbára.
I am considered to be among those who will descend into the pit. I have become like a man without assistance,
5 A yà mí sọ́tọ̀ pẹ̀lú àwọn òkú bí ẹni tí a pa tí ó dùbúlẹ̀ ní ipò ikú, ẹni tí ìwọ kò rántí mọ́, ẹni tí a gé kúrò lára àwọn tí ìwọ ń tọ́jú.
idle among the dead. I am like the wounded sleeping in sepulchers, whom you no longer remember, and who have been repelled by your hand.
6 Ìwọ tí ó fi mí sí kòtò jíjìn, ní ibi ọ̀gbun tó ṣókùnkùn.
They have lain me in the lower pit: in dark places and in the shadow of death.
7 Ìbínú rẹ ṣubú lé mi gidigidi; ìwọ ti fi àwọn ìjì rẹ borí mi.
Your fury has been confirmed over me. And you have brought all your waves upon me.
8 Ìwọ tí gba ọ̀rẹ́ mi tí ó súnmọ́ mi kúrò lọ́wọ́ mi ìwọ sì sọ mi di ìríra sí wọn. A há mi mọ́, èmi kò sì le è jáde;
You have sent my acquaintances far from me. They have set me as an abomination to themselves. I was handed over, yet I did not depart.
9 ojú mi káàánú nítorí ìpọ́njú. Mo kígbe pè ọ́, Olúwa, ní gbogbo ọjọ́; mo na ọwọ́ mi jáde sí ọ.
My eyes languished before destitution. All day long, I cried out to you, O Lord. I stretched out my hands to you.
10 Ìwọ ó fi iṣẹ́ ìyanu rẹ hàn fún òkú bi? Àwọn òkú yóò ha dìde láti yìn ọ́ bí?
Will you perform wonders for the dead? Or will physicians raise to life, and so confess to you?
11 A ó ha fi ìṣeun ìfẹ́ rẹ hàn ní ibojì bí, tàbí òtítọ́ rẹ ní ipò ìparun?
Could anyone declare your mercy in the sepulcher, or your truth from within perdition?
12 A ha lè mọ iṣẹ́ ìyanu rẹ ní òkùnkùn bí àti òdodo rẹ ní ilẹ̀ ìgbàgbé?
Will your wonders be known in the darkness, or your justice in the land of oblivion?
13 Ṣùgbọ́n mo kígbe sí ọ fún ìrànlọ́wọ́, Olúwa; ní òwúrọ̀ ni àdúrà mí wá sọ́dọ̀ rẹ.
And I have cried out to you, O Lord, and in early morning, my prayer will come before you.
14 Olúwa, èéṣe tí ìwọ fi kọ̀ mí tí ìwọ fi ojú rẹ pamọ́ fún mi?
Lord, why do you reject my prayer? Why do you turn your face away from me?
15 Láti ìgbà èwe mi, ìṣẹ́ ń ṣẹ́ mi, èmi múra àti kú; nígbà tí ẹ̀rù rẹ bá ń bà mí, èmi di gbére-gbère.
I am poor, and I have been amid hardships from my youth. And, though I have been exalted, I am humbled and disturbed.
16 Ìbínú rẹ ti kọjá lára mi; ìbẹ̀rù rẹ ti gé mi kúrò.
Your wrath has crossed into me, and your terrors have disturbed me.
17 Ní gbogbo ọjọ́ ni wọn yí mi ká bí ìkún omi; wọ́n mù mí pátápátá.
They have surrounded me like water, all day long. They have surrounded me, all at once.
18 Ìwọ ti mú ọ̀rẹ́ àti olùfẹ́ mi kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi; òkùnkùn sì jẹ́ ọ̀rẹ́ tímọ́tímọ́ mi.
Friend and neighbor, and my acquaintances, you have sent far away from me, away from misery.
