< Psalms 83 >

1 Orin. Saamu ti Asafu. Ọlọ́run, má ṣe dákẹ́; má ṣe dákẹ́, Ọlọ́run má ṣe dúró jẹ́ẹ́.
A Song of a Psalm for Asaph. O God, who shall be compared to thee? be not silent, neither be still, O God.
2 Wo bí àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ ti ń rọ́kẹ̀kẹ̀ lọ, bi àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ ti ń gbé ohùn wọn sókè.
For behold, thine enemies have made a noise; and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3 Pẹ̀lú àrékérekè ni wọn dìtẹ̀ sí àwọn ènìyàn rẹ; wọn sí dìtẹ̀ mọ́ àwọn tí o fẹ́.
Against thy people they have craftily imagined a device, and have taken counsel against thy saints.
4 Wọn wí pé, “wá, ẹ jẹ́ kí á pa wọ́n run bí orílẹ̀-èdè, kí orúkọ Israẹli ma bá a sí ní ìrántí mọ́.”
They have said, Come, and let us utterly destroy them out of the nation; and let the name of Israel be remembered no more at all.
5 Wọ́n gbìmọ̀ pọ̀ pẹ̀lú ọkàn kan; wọ́n ṣe àdéhùn láti ṣọ̀tẹ̀ sí ọ
For they have taken counsel together with one consent: they have made a confederacy against thee;
6 Àgọ́ Edomu àti ti àwọn ará Iṣmaeli, ti Moabu àti ti Hagari
even the tents of the Idumeans, and the Ismaelites; Moab, and the Agarenes;
7 Gebali, Ammoni àti Amaleki, Filistia, pẹ̀lú àwọn ènìyàn Tire.
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalec; the Philistines also, with them that dwell at Tyre.
8 Asiria pẹ̀lú ti darapọ̀ mọ́ wọn láti ran àwọn ọmọ Lọti lọ́wọ́. (Sela)
Yea, Assur too is come with them: they have become a help to the children of Lot. (Pause)
9 Ṣe sí wọn bí ìwọ ti ṣe sí Midiani bí o ti ṣe sí Sisera àti Jabini ní odò Kiṣoni,
Do thou to them as to Madiam, and to Sisera; as to Jabin at the brook of Kison.
10 ẹni tí ó ṣègbé ní Endori tí wọn sì dàbí ààtàn ní orí ilẹ̀.
They were utterly destroyed at Aendor: they became as dung for the earth.
11 Ṣe àwọn ọlọ́lá wọn bí Orebu àti Seebu, àwọn ọmọ-aládé wọn bí Seba àti Salmunna,
Make their princes as Oreb and Zeb, and Zebee and Salmana; [even] all their princes:
12 tí ó wí pé, “Ẹ jẹ́ kí a gbà ní ìní àní pápá oko tútù Ọlọ́run.”
who said, let us take to ourselves the altar of God as an inheritance.
13 Ìwọ Ọlọ́run, ṣe wọ́n bí ààjà, bí ìyàngbò níwájú afẹ́fẹ́.
O my God, make them as a wheel; as stubble before the face of the wind.
14 Bí iná ti í jó igbó, àti bí ọ̀wọ́-iná ti ń mú òkè ńlá gbiná,
As fire which shall burn up a wood, as the flame may consume the mountains;
15 bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí o fi ẹ̀fúùfù líle rẹ lépa wọn dẹ́rùbà wọn lójú pẹ̀lú ìjì rẹ.
so shalt thou persecute them with thy tempest, and trouble them in thine anger.
16 Fi ìtìjú kún ojú wọn, kí àwọn ènìyàn bá à lè ṣe àfẹ́rí orúkọ rẹ àti kí o fi ìjì líle rẹ dẹ́rùbà, ìwọ Olúwa.
Fill their faces with dishonour; so shall they seek thy name, O Lord.
17 Jẹ́ kí ojú kí ó tì wọ́n, kí wọ́n sì dààmú láéláé kí wọ́n ṣègbé sínú ẹ̀gàn
Let them be ashamed and troubled for evermore; yea, let them be confounded and destroyed.
18 jẹ́ kí wọn mọ̀ pé ìwọ, tí orúkọ rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Olúwa: pé ìwọ nìkan ní Ọ̀gá-ògo jùlọ lórí gbogbo ayé.
And let them know that thy name is Lord; that thou alone art Most High over all the earth.
