< Psalms 82 >
1 Saamu ti Asafu. Ọlọ́run ń ṣàkóso nínú ìpéjọpọ̀ ńlá, ó ṣe ìdájọ́ láàrín àwọn “ọlọ́run òrìṣà”.
— A Psalm of Asaph. God hath stood in the company of God, In the midst God doth judge.
2 “Yóò ti pẹ́ tó tí ìwọ yóò máa gbèjà àwọn aláìṣòdodo kí ó sì ṣe ojú ìṣáájú sí àwọn ènìyàn búburú?
Till when do ye judge perversely? And the face of the wicked lift up? (Selah)
3 Gbèjà àwọn aláìlágbára àti aláìní baba; ṣe ìtọ́jú ẹ̀tọ́ àwọn aláìní àti ẹni ìnilára.
Judge ye the weak and fatherless, The afflicted and the poor declare righteous.
4 Gba àwọn aláìlágbára àti aláìní; gbà wọ́n kúrò lọ́wọ́ àwọn ènìyàn búburú.
Let the weak and needy escape, From the hand of the wicked deliver them.
5 “Wọn kò mọ̀ ohun kankan, wọn kò lóye ohun kankan. Wọn ń rìn kiri nínú òkùnkùn; à si mí gbogbo ìpìlẹ̀ ayé.
They knew not, nor do they understand, In darkness they walk habitually, Moved are all the foundations of earth.
6 “Mo wí pé, ‘Ẹyin ní “Ọlọ́run òrìṣà”; ẹ̀yin ní gbogbo ọmọ Ọ̀gá-ògo jùlọ.’
I — I have said, 'Gods ye [are], And sons of the Most High — all of you,
7 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin ó kú bí ènìyàn lásán; ẹ̀yin ó ṣubú bí ọ̀kan nínú ọmọ-aládé.”
But as man ye die, and as one of the heads ye fall,
8 Dìde, Ọlọ́run, ṣe ìdájọ́ ayé, nítorí gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè ni ìní rẹ.
Rise, O God, judge the earth, For Thou hast inheritance among all the nations!
