< Psalms 73 >
1 Saamu ti Asafu. Nítòótọ́ Ọlọ́run dára fún Israẹli, fún àwọn ọlọ́kàn funfun.
A Psalm of Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
2 Ṣùgbọ́n bí ó ṣe ti èmi, ẹsẹ̀ mi ti yẹ̀ tán; ìrìn mi fẹ́rẹ̀ yọ̀ tán.
But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; my steps had nearly slipped.
3 Nítorí èmi ń ṣe ìlara àwọn tó ń ṣe féfé nígbà tí mo bá rí àlàáfíà àwọn ènìyàn búburú.
For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 Wọn kò ṣe wàhálà; ara wọn mókun wọn sì lágbára.
They have no struggle in their death; their bodies are well-fed.
5 Wọn kò ní ìpín nínú àjàgà tó ń ṣẹlẹ̀ sí ènìyàn; a kò pọ́n wọn lójú nípa ẹlòmíràn.
They are free of the burdens others carry; they are not afflicted like other men.
6 Ìgbéraga ni ọ̀ṣọ́ ọrùn wọn; ìwà ipá bò wọ́n mọ́lẹ̀ bí aṣọ.
Therefore pride is their necklace; a garment of violence covers them.
7 Láti inú ọkàn àrékérekè ni àìṣòdodo ti wá; ẹ̀rí ọkàn búburú wọn kò ní òdínwọ̀n.
From their prosperity proceeds iniquity; the imaginations of their hearts run wild.
8 Wọn ń ṣẹ̀sín, wọn sì ń sọ̀rọ̀-òdì ní ti ìnilára, wọ́n ń sọ̀rọ̀ láti ibi gíga.
They mock and speak with malice; with arrogance they threaten oppression.
9 Wọ́n ń gbé ẹ̀mí wọn lé ọ̀run ahọ́n wọn gba ipò ayé.
They set their mouths against the heavens, and their tongues strut across the earth.
10 Nítorí náà àwọn ènìyàn wọn yípadà sí wọn wọ́n sì mu omi ní ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀.
So their people return to this place and drink up waters in abundance.
11 Wọ́n wí pé, “Báwo ni Ọlọ́run yóò ṣe mọ̀? Ọ̀gá-ògo ha ní ìmọ̀ bí?”
The wicked say, “How can God know? Does the Most High have knowledge?”
12 Bí àwọn ènìyàn búburú ṣe rí nìyí, ènìyàn asán, wọ́n ń pọ̀ ní ọrọ̀.
Behold, these are the wicked— always carefree as they increase their wealth.
13 Nítòótọ́ nínú asán ni mo pa ọkàn mi mọ́; nínú asán ni mo wẹ ọwọ́ mi ní àìlẹ́ṣẹ̀.
Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure; in innocence I have washed my hands.
14 Ní gbogbo ọjọ́ ni a ń yọ mí lẹ́nu; a sì ń jẹ mí ní yà ní gbogbo òwúrọ̀.
For I am afflicted all day long and punished every morning.
15 Bí mo bá wí pé, “Èmi ó wí báyìí,” èmi ó ṣẹ̀ sí ìran àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀.
If I had said, “I will speak this way,” then I would have betrayed Your children.
16 Nígbà tí mo gbìyànjú láti mọ èyí, Ó jẹ́ ìnilára fún mi,
When I tried to understand all this, it was troublesome in my sight
17 títí mo fi wọ ibi mímọ́ Ọlọ́run; nígbà náà ni òye ìgbẹ̀yìn wọn yé mi.
until I entered God’s sanctuary; then I discerned their end.
18 Lóòtítọ́ ìwọ gbé wọn lórí ilẹ̀ yíyọ́ ìwọ jù wọ́n sílẹ̀ sínú ìparun.
Surely You set them on slick ground; You cast them down into ruin.
19 Báwo ní a ti mú wọn lọ sínú ìdahoro yìí bí ẹni pé ní ìṣẹ́jú kan! Ìbẹ̀rù ni a fi ń run wọ́n pátápátá!
How suddenly they are laid waste, completely swept away by terrors!
20 Bí àlá nígbà tí ènìyàn bá jí, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni nígbà tí ìwọ bá dìde, Olúwa, ìwọ yóò ṣe àbùkù àwòrán wọn.
Like one waking from a dream, so You, O Lord, awaken and despise their form.
21 Nígbà tí inú mi bàjẹ́ àti ọkàn mi ṣì korò,
When my heart was grieved and I was pierced within,
22 mo jẹ́ aṣiwèrè àti aláìlóye; mo jẹ́ ẹranko ní iwájú rẹ.
I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before You.
23 Síbẹ̀ mo wà pẹ̀lú rẹ nígbà gbogbo; ìwọ di ọwọ́ ọ̀tún mi mú.
Yet I am always with You; You hold my right hand.
24 Ìwọ fi ìmọ̀ràn rẹ tọ́ mi ní ìkẹyìn ìwọ ó mú mi lọ sí inú ògo.
You guide me with Your counsel, and later receive me in glory.
25 Ta ni mo ní ní ọ̀run, bí kò ṣe ìwọ? Àti ní ayé kò sí ohun tí mo fẹ́ lẹ́yìn rẹ.
Whom have I in heaven but You? And on earth I desire no one besides You.
26 Ara mi àti ọkàn mi le è kùnà ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run ni agbára ẹ̀mí mi àti ìpín mi títí láé.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27 Àwọn tí ó jìnnà sí ọ yóò ṣègbé ìwọ ti pa gbogbo wọn run; tí ń ṣe àgbèrè kiri kúrò lọ́dọ̀ rẹ.
Those far from You will surely perish; You destroy all who are unfaithful to You.
28 Ṣùgbọ́n ní ti èmi, ó dára láti súnmọ́ Ọlọ́run. Èmi ti fi Olúwa Olódùmarè ṣe ààbò mi; kí èmi ó lè máa sọ̀rọ̀ iṣẹ́ rẹ.
But as for me, it is good to draw near to God. I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may proclaim all Your works.
