< Psalms 69 >

1 Fún adarí orin. Tí ohùn “Àwọn Lílì.” Ti Dafidi. Gbà mí, Ọlọ́run, nítorí omi ti kún dé ọrùn mi.
O God, save me, because [I am in great danger]. [It is as though] flood water is up to my neck, [and I am about to drown] [MET].
2 Mo ń rì nínú irà jíjìn, níbi tí kò sí ibi ìfẹsẹ̀lé. Mo ti wá sínú omi jíjìn; ìkún omi bò mí mọ́lẹ̀.
I continue to sink in the deep mud, and there is no solid ground for me to stand on. I am in deep water, and flood waters are swirling around me.
3 Agara dá mi, mo ń pè fún ìrànlọ́wọ́; ọ̀fun mí gbẹ, ojú mi ṣú, nígbà tí èmi dúró de Ọlọ́run mi.
I am exhausted from calling out [for help]; my throat is very dry. Because I have cried so much as I have waited for God [to help me], my eyes are swollen.
4 Àwọn tí ó kórìíra mi láìnídìí wọ́n ju irun orí mi lọ, púpọ̀ ni àwọn ọ̀tá mi láìnídìí, àwọn tí ń wá láti pa mí run. A fi ipá mú mi láti san ohun tí èmi kò jí.
Those who hate me when there is no reason to hate me are more than the number of hairs on my head [HYP]! Those who want to get rid of me are strong, and they tell lies about me. They demand that I return to them things that I did not steal!
5 Ìwọ mọ òmùgọ̀ mi, Ọlọ́run; ẹ̀bi mi kò pamọ́ lójú rẹ.
O God, (you see the sins that I have committed/my sins are not hidden from you). You know that I have foolishly [disobeyed your laws].
6 Má ṣe dójútì àwọn tí ó ní ìrètí nínú rẹ nítorí mi, Olúwa, Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun; má ṣe jẹ́ kí àwọn tó ń wá ọ dààmú nítorí mi, Ọlọ́run Israẹli.
O Yahweh God, [you who are the commander] of the armies [of heaven], do not allow the [wrong things that] I [have done] to cause those who trust in you to be disappointed/disillusioned. O God, you whom [we] Israeli people [worship], do not allow me to cause your people to be humiliated.
7 Nítorí rẹ ni mo ń ru ẹ̀gàn, ìtìjú sì bo ojú mi.
People have insulted/ridiculed me because [I am devoted to] you. They have thoroughly humiliated [IDM] me.
8 Mo jẹ́ àjèjì si àwọn arákùnrin mi; àlejò sí àwọn arákùnrin ìyá mi;
Even my own [older] brothers act as if they do not know me; they treat me like a foreigner.
9 nítorí ìtara ilé rẹ jẹ mí run, àti ẹ̀gàn àwọn tí ń gàn ọ́ ṣubú lù mí.
[Some people have despised your temple]; but my zeal for [keeping] your temple [holy] is like a fire burning inside me. So [it is as though] those who are insulting you are also insulting me.
10 Nígbà tí mo sọkún tí mo sì ń fi àwẹ̀ jẹ ara mi ní ìyà èyí náà sì dín ẹ̀gàn mi kù;
When I have humbled myself and (fasted/abstained from eating food) [to show my sadness about the disgraceful things that they have done to your temple], they just insult me.
11 nígbà tí mo wọ aṣọ àkísà, àwọn ènìyàn ń pa òwe mọ́ mi.
When I put on [rough] sackcloth [to show that I am sad], they laugh at [IDM] me.
12 Àwọn tí ó jókòó ní ẹnu ibodè ń bú mi, mo sì di orin àwọn ọ̀mùtí.
Even the elders [of the city] say bad things about me. The drunkards of the city sing [disgusting] songs about me.
13 Ṣùgbọ́n bí ó ṣe ti èmi ni ìwọ ni èmi ń gbàdúrà mi sí Olúwa, ní ìgbà ìtẹ́wọ́gbà Ọlọ́run, nínú ìfẹ́ títóbi rẹ, dá mi lóhùn pẹ̀lú ìgbàlà rẹ tí ó dájú.
But Yahweh, I will [continue] praying to you. At the time that you choose, answer me and rescue me because you faithfully love me.
14 Gbà mí kúrò nínú ẹrẹ̀, má ṣe jẹ́ kí n rì; gbà mí lọ́wọ́ àwọn tí ó kórìíra mi, kúrò nínú ibú omi.
Do not allow me to sink any more in the mud. Rescue me from those who hate me! Lift me up out of these deep waters!
15 Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ìkún omi bò mí mọ́lẹ̀ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni má ṣe jẹ́ kí ọ̀gbìn gbé mi mì kí o má sì ṣe jẹ́ kí ihò pa ẹnu rẹ̀ dé mọ́ mi.
Do not allow flood waters to swirl around me, do not allow the deep [mud] to swallow me; keep me from sinking into the pit [of death] [MET].
16 Dá mí lóhùn, Olúwa, nínú ìṣeun ìfẹ́ rẹ; nínú ọ̀pọ̀ àánú rẹ yípadà sí mi.
O Yahweh, answer my prayer and help me because you are good and love me faithfully.
17 Má ṣe pa ojú rẹ mọ́ fún ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ: yára dá mi lóhùn, nítorí mo wà nínú ìpọ́njú.
Do not (hide yourself from/refuse to hear) me; answer me quickly because I am in great trouble.
18 Súnmọ́ tòsí kí o sì gbà mí là; rà mí padà nítorí àwọn ọ̀tá mi.
Come near to me and save me; rescue me from my enemies.
19 Ìwọ ti mọ ẹ̀gàn mi, ìtìjú mi àti àìlọ́lá; gbogbo àwọn ọ̀tá mi wà níwájú rẹ.
You know that I am insulted and that [people cause] me [to feel] ashamed and dishonored; you know [who] all my enemies [are].
20 Ẹ̀gàn ba ọkàn mi jẹ́, wọ́n fi mí sílẹ̀ láìsí ìrànlọ́wọ́; mo ń wá aláàánú, ṣùgbọ́n kò sí, mo ń wá olùtùnú, ṣùgbọ́n n kò rí ẹnìkankan.
[Their] insults have deeply offended me, and I (feel helpless/am in despair). I searched for [someone who would] pity [me], but there was no one. I wanted someone to encourage/comfort me, but there were none.
21 Wọ́n fi òróró fún mi pẹ̀lú ohun jíjẹ mi, àti ní òùngbẹ mi, wọ́n fi ọtí kíkan fún mi.
[Instead], they gave me food [that tasted like] poison, and when I was thirsty, they gave me sour wine to drink.
22 Jẹ́ kí tábìlì wọn kí ó di ìkẹ́kùn ní iwájú wọn, kí ó sì di okùn dídẹ fún àwọn tó wà ní àlàáfíà.
I hope/desire that the feasts [MTY] [that they enjoy] will (become a snare for/bring trouble to) them, and that [those whom they invite to] the sacrificial feasts will also be trapped.
23 Kí ojú wọn kì í ó ṣókùnkùn, kí wọn má ṣe ríran, kí ẹ̀yin wọn di títẹ̀ títí láé.
I hope/desire that their eyesight will become dim so that they cannot see anything, and that their backs/bodies will become weaker and weaker.
24 Tú ìbínú rẹ jáde sí wọn; kí ìbínú gbígbóná rẹ bò wọ́n mọ́lẹ̀.
Show them that you are very angry with them! Because of your great/furious anger, chase after them and catch them.
25 Kí ibùjókòó wọn di ahoro; kí ẹnikẹ́ni má ṣe gbé nínú wọn.
Cause their towns to become abandoned/deserted and that there will be no one left to live in their tents/houses.
26 Nítorí wọ́n ń ṣe inúnibíni sí ẹni tí ìwọ ti lù, àti ìrora àwọn tí ó ti ṣèṣe.
[Do this] because they persecute those whom you have punished, (they talk about the sins of/they want to hurt even more) those whom you have wounded.
27 Fi ẹ̀sùn kún ẹ̀sùn wọn; Má ṣe jẹ́ kí wọn pín nínú ìgbàlà rẹ.
Keep making a record of all their sins, do not acquit/pardon them [for the evil things that they have done].
28 Jẹ́ kí a yọ wọ́n kúrò nínú ìwé ìyè kí á má kà wọ́n pẹ̀lú àwọn olódodo.
Erase their names [SYN] from the book [containing the names of those who have eternal] life; do not include them in the list of righteous people.
29 Ṣùgbọ́n tálákà àti ẹni-ìkáàánú ni èmí, Ọlọ́run, jẹ́ kí ìgbàlà rẹ gbé mi lékè.
As for me, I have pain and am suffering. O God, protect me and rescue me.
30 Èmi yóò fi orin gbé orúkọ Ọlọ́run ga èmi yóò fi ọpẹ́ gbé orúkọ rẹ̀ ga.
When God does that, I will sing as I praise God, and I will honor him by thanking him.
31 Eléyìí tẹ́ Olúwa lọ́rùn ju ọ̀dá màlúù lọ ju akọ màlúù pẹ̀lú ìwo rẹ̀ àti bàtà rẹ̀.
My doing that will please Yahweh more than [sacrificing] oxen, more than offering him full-grown bulls.
32 Àwọn òtòṣì yóò rí, wọn yóò sì yọ̀: ẹ̀yin yóò wá Ọlọ́run, ọkàn yín yóò sì wà láààyè!
Oppressed/Afflicted people will see [that God has rescued me], and they will be glad. I want all of you who ask God [to help you] to be encouraged.
33 Olúwa, gbọ́ ti aláìní, kì ó sì kọ àwọn ìgbèkùn sílẹ̀.
Yahweh listens to those who are needy; He does not ignore/forget those who are oppressed/imprisoned.
34 Kí ọ̀run àti ayé yìn ín, òkun àti àwọn tí ń gbé inú rẹ̀,
I desire that everything will praise God— everything that is in heaven and on earth, and all the creatures that are in the seas.
35 nítorí tí Ọlọ́run yóò gba Sioni là yóò sì tún àwọn ìlú Juda wọ̀nyí kọ́. Kí wọn ó lè máa gbé ibẹ̀, kí wọn ó lè máa ní ní ilẹ̀ ìní;
God will rescue the people of Jerusalem [from their enemies], and he will rebuild the towns that are in Judah. His people will live there and [again] possess the land.
36 àwọn ọmọ ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ ni yóò máa jogún rẹ̀, àwọn tí ó fẹ́ orúkọ rẹ ni yóò máa gbé inú rẹ̀.
The descendants of his people will inherit it, and those who love him will live there [safely].
