< Psalms 58 >

1 Fún adarí orin. Tí ohùn “Má ṣe parun.” Ti Dafidi. Miktamu. Ẹ̀yin ha ń sọ òdodo nítòótọ́ ẹ̀yin ìjọ ènìyàn? Ǹjẹ́ ẹ̀yin ń ṣe ìdájọ́ tí ó ṣe títọ́ ẹ̀yìn ọmọ ènìyàn?
For the Chief Musician. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A poem by David. Do you indeed speak righteousness, silent ones? Do you judge blamelessly, you sons of men?
2 Bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́, nínú ọkàn yín ẹ̀yìn ń gbèrò àìṣòdodo, ọwọ́ yín sì tú ìwà ipá jáde ni ayé.
No, in your heart you plot injustice. You measure out the violence of your hands in the earth.
3 Ní inú ìyá wọn wá ni ènìyàn búburú tí ṣìnà, lójúkan náà tí a ti bí wọn, wọn a máa ṣèké.
The wicked go astray from the womb. They are wayward as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
4 Oró wọn dàbí oró ejò, wọn dàbí adití ejò paramọ́lẹ̀ tí ó di ara rẹ̀ ni etí,
Their poison is like the poison of a snake, like a deaf cobra that stops its ear,
5 tí kò ní gbọ́ ìpè àwọn atunilójú, bí ó ti wù kí ó máa fi ọgbọ́n ṣe ìtujú tó.
which does not listen to the voice of charmers, no matter how skillful the charmer may be.
6 Ká eyín ẹnu wọn, Ọlọ́run; ní ẹnu wọn, ká ọ̀gàn àwọn ọmọ kìnnìún, Olúwa.
Break their teeth, God, in their mouth. Break out the great teeth of the young lions, LORD.
7 Jẹ́ kí wọn parẹ́ bí omi tó ń sàn lọ; nígbà tí ó bá fa ọfà rẹ̀, kí ọ̀kọ̀ wọn kí ó ṣẹ́.
Let them vanish like water that flows away. When they draw the bow, let their arrows be made blunt.
8 Jẹ́ kí wọn rí bí ìgbín tí rẹ̀ dànù tí ó sì ṣègbé bí ọmọ tí oṣù rẹ̀ kò pé, kí wọn má ṣe rí oòrùn.
Let them be like a snail which melts and passes away, like the stillborn child, who has not seen the sun.
9 Kí ìkòkò yín kí ó tó mọ ìgbóná ẹ̀gún; bóyá ní tútù tàbí ní gbígbẹ, yóò fi ìjì gbá wọn lọ.
Before your pots can feel the heat of the thorns, he will sweep away the green and the burning alike.
10 Olódodo yóò yọ̀ nígbà a bá ń gbẹ̀san wọn, nígbà tí wọn bá wẹ ẹsẹ̀ wọn nínú ẹ̀jẹ̀ ènìyàn búburú.
The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance. He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,
11 Àwọn ènìyàn yóò wí pé, “Lóòtítọ́ èrè àwọn ń bẹ fún olódodo; lóòtítọ́ òun ni Ọlọ́run tí ń ṣe ìdájọ́ ní ayé.”
so that men shall say, “Most certainly there is a reward for the righteous. Most certainly there is a God who judges the earth.”
