< Psalms 56 >
1 Fún adarí orin. Ti ohùn “Àdàbà lórí Óákù òkè réré.” Ti Dafidi. Miktamu. Nígbà tí àwọn ará Filistini ka mọ́ ní Gati. Ṣàánú fún mi, Ọlọ́run, nítorí àwọn ènìyàn ń fi ìgbónára lépa mi; ní gbogbo ọjọ́ ni wọn ń kọjú ìjà sí mi, wọn ń ni mi lára.
[For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "Silent Dove in Distant Lands." A poem by David, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.] Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me.
2 Àwọn ọ̀tá mi ń lé mi ní gbogbo ọjọ́, àwọn ènìyàn ń kọjú ìjà sí mi nínú ìgbéraga wọn.
My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, for they are many who fight proudly against me.
3 Nígbà tí ẹ̀rù bà ń bà mí, èmi o gbẹ́kẹ̀lé ọ.
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.
4 Nínú Ọlọ́run èmi yóò máa yìn ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ, nínú Ọlọ́run ni ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé mi; ẹ̀rù kì yóò bà mí kí ni ẹran-ara lè ṣe sí mi?
In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
5 Wọn ń yí ọ̀rọ̀ mí ní gbogbo ọjọ́, wọn ń gbèrò nígbà gbogbo láti ṣe mí níbi.
All day long they twist my words. All their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 Wọn kó ara wọn jọ, wọ́n ba. Wọ́n ń ṣọ́ ìgbésẹ̀ mi wọn ń làkàkà láti gba ẹ̀mí mi.
They conspire and lurk, watching my steps, they are eager to take my life.
7 San ẹ̀san iṣẹ́ búburú wọ́n fún wọn; ní ìbínú rẹ, Ọlọ́run, wọ́ àwọn ènìyàn náà bọ́ sílẹ̀.
Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, God.
8 Kọ ẹkún mi sílẹ̀; kó omijé mi sí ìgò rẹ, wọ́n kò ha sí nínú ìkọ̀sílẹ̀ rẹ bí?
You number my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren't they in your book?
9 Nígbà náà ni àwọn ọ̀tá mi yóò pẹ̀yìndà nígbà tí mo bá pè fún ìrànlọ́wọ́ nípa èyí ni mo mọ̀ pé Ọlọ́run ń bẹ fún mi.
Then my enemies shall turn back in the day that I call. I know this, that God is for me.
10 Nínú Ọlọ́run, ẹni tí mo yìn ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ nínú Olúwa, ẹni tí mo yin ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀,
In God, I will praise his word. In Jehovah, I will praise his word.
11 nínú Ọlọ́run ni ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé mi: ẹ̀rù kì yóò bà mí. Kí ni ènìyàn lè ṣe sí mi?
I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
12 Mo jẹ́ ẹ̀jẹ́ lábẹ́ rẹ Ọlọ́run: èmi o mú ìyìn mi wá fún ọ.
Your vows are on me, God. I will give thank offerings to you.
13 Nítorí ìwọ tí gbà mí lọ́wọ́ ikú àti ẹsẹ̀ mi lọ́wọ́ ìṣubú, kí èmí lè máa rìn níwájú Ọlọ́run ní ìmọ́lẹ̀ àwọn alààyè.
For you have delivered my soul from death, and prevented my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
