< Psalms 47 >

1 Fún adarí orin. Ti àwọn ọmọ Kora. Saamu. Ẹ pàtẹ́wọ́, gbogbo ẹ̀yin ènìyàn ẹ hó sí Ọlọ́run pẹ̀lú orin ayọ̀ tó rinlẹ̀.
You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!
2 Báwo ni Olúwa Ọ̀gá-ògo ti ní ẹ̀rù tó ọba ńlá lórí gbogbo ayé.
Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!
3 Ṣe ìkápá àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè lábẹ́ wa àwọn ènìyàn lábẹ́ ẹsẹ̀ wa
He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].
4 Ó mú ilẹ̀ ìní wa fún wa, ọlá Jakọbu, ẹni tí ó fẹ́ wa.
He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.
5 Ọlọ́run tó gòkè lọ tí òun tayọ̀, Olúwa ti òun ti ariwo ìpè.
God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.
6 Ẹ kọrin ìyìn sí Ọlọ́run, ẹ kọrin ìyìn. Ẹ kọrin ìyìn sí ọba wa, ẹ kọrin ìyìn!
Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!
7 Nítorí Ọlọ́run ni ọba gbogbo ayé, ẹ kọrin ìyìn pẹ̀lú Saamu!
God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!
8 Ọlọ́run jẹ ọba lórí gbogbo kèfèrí; Ọlọ́run jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ ìwà mímọ́ rẹ̀.
God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.
9 Àwọn aládé ayé kó ara wọn jọ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ènìyàn Ọlọ́run Abrahamu nítorí asà ayé ti Ọlọ́run ni, òun ni ó ga jùlọ.
The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.
