< Psalms 37 >
1 Ti Dafidi. Má ṣe ìkanra nítorí àwọn olùṣe búburú, kí ìwọ má sì ṣe ṣe ìlara nítorí àwọn oníṣẹ́ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀;
א Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.
2 nítorí pé wọn yóò gbẹ bí i koríko, wọn yóò sì rẹ̀ dànù bí ewéko tútù.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb.
3 Gbẹ́kẹ̀lé Olúwa, kí o sì máa ṣe rere; torí pé ìwọ yóò gbé ilẹ̀ náà, kí o sì gbádùn ààbò rẹ̀.
בּ Trust in Adonai, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Ṣe inú dídùn sí Olúwa; òun yóò sì fún ọ ní ìfẹ́ inú rẹ̀.
Also delight yourself in Adonai, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Fi ọ̀nà rẹ lé Olúwa lọ́wọ́; gbẹ́kẹ̀lé pẹ̀lú, òun yóò sì ṣe é.
גּ Commit your way to Adonai. Trust also in him, and he will do this:
6 Yóò sì mú kí òdodo rẹ̀ jáde bí ìmọ́lẹ̀ òwúrọ̀, àti ìdájọ́ rẹ̀ bí ọ̀sán gangan.
he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your mishpat ·justice· as the noonday sun.
7 Ìwọ dákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́ níwájú Olúwa, kí o sì fi sùúrù dúró dè é; má ṣe ṣe ìkanra nítorí àwọn tí ń rí rere ní ọ̀nà wọn, nítorí ọkùnrin náà ti mú èrò búburú ṣẹ.
דּ Rest in Adonai, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
8 Fàsẹ́yìn nínú inúbíbí, kí o sì kọ ìkáàánú sílẹ̀, má ṣe ṣe ìkanra, kí ó má ba à ṣé búburú pẹ̀lú.
ה Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret, it leads only to evildoing.
9 Nítorí tí á ó gé àwọn olùṣe búburú kúrò, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn tí ó bá dúró de Olúwa àwọn ni yóò jogún ilẹ̀ náà.
For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Adonai shall inherit the land.
10 Síbẹ̀ nígbà díẹ̀ sí i, àwọn ènìyàn búburú kì yóò sí mọ̀; nítòótọ́ ìwọ yóò fi ara balẹ̀ wo ipò rẹ̀, wọn kì yóò sí níbẹ̀.
ו For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he is not there.
11 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ọlọ́kàn tútù ni yóò jogún ilẹ̀ náà, wọn yóò sì máa ṣe inú dídùn nínú ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ àlàáfíà.
But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 Ènìyàn búburú di rìkíṣí sí olóòtítọ́, wọ́n sì pa eyín wọn keke sí wọn;
ז The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.
13 ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa rẹ́rìn-ín sí àwọn ènìyàn búburú, nítorí tí ó rí wí pé ọjọ́ wọn ń bọ̀.
'Adonay [Lord] will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
14 Ènìyàn búburú fa idà yọ, wọ́n sì tẹ àwọn ọrun wọn, láti sọ tálákà àti aláìní kalẹ̀, láti pa àwọn tí ó dúró ṣinṣin.
ח The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright on the path.
15 Idà wọn yóò wọ àyà wọn lọ, àti wí pé ọrun wọn yóò sì ṣẹ́.
Their sword shall enter into their own heart. Their bows shall be broken.
16 Ohun díẹ̀ tí olódodo ní, sàn ju ọ̀pọ̀ ọrọ̀ ènìyàn búburú;
ט Better is a little that the upright has, than the abundance of many wicked.
17 nítorí pé a óò ṣẹ́ ọwọ́ àwọn ènìyàn búburú, ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa gbé olódodo sókè.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Adonai upholds the upright.
18 Olúwa mọ àwọn ọjọ́ àwọn tó dúró ṣinṣin, àti wí pé ilẹ̀ ìní wọn yóò wà títí ayérayé.
י Adonai knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever.
19 Ojú kì yóò tì wọ́n ní àkókò ibi, àti ní ọjọ́ ìyàn, a ó tẹ́ wọn lọ́rùn.
They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ènìyàn búburú yóò ṣègbé. Àwọn ọ̀tá Olúwa yóò dàbí ẹwà oko tútù; wọn fò lọ; bi èéfín ni wọn yóò fò lọ kúrò.
כּ But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Adonai shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish— vanish like smoke.
21 Àwọn ènìyàn búburú yá, wọn kò sì san án padà, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn olódodo a máa ṣàánú, a sì máa fi fún ni;
ל The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the upright give generously.
22 nítorí àwọn tí Olúwa bá bùkún ni yóò jogún ilẹ̀ náà, àwọn tí ó fi bú ni a ó gé kúrò.
For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
23 Ìlànà ìgbésẹ̀ ènìyàn rere wá láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa wá, o sì ṣe inú dídùn sí ọ̀nà rẹ̀;
מ A man’s goings are established by Adonai. He delights in his way.
24 bí ó tilẹ̀ ṣubú a kì yóò ta á nù pátápátá, nítorí tí Olúwa di ọwọ́ rẹ̀ mú.
Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Adonai holds him up with his hand.
25 Èmi ti wà ni èwe, báyìí èmi sì dàgbà; síbẹ̀ èmi kò ì tí ì ri kí a kọ olódodo sílẹ̀, tàbí kí irú-ọmọ rẹ̀ máa ṣagbe oúnjẹ.
נ I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the upright forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.
26 Aláàánú ni òun nígbà gbogbo a máa yá ni; a sì máa bùsi i fún ni.
All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His offspring is blessed.
27 Lọ kúrò nínú ibi, kí o sì máa ṣe rere; nígbà náà ni ìwọ yóò gbé ní ilẹ̀ náà títí láéláé.
ס Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever.
28 Nítorí pé Olúwa fẹ́ràn ìdájọ́ òtítọ́, kò sì kọ àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ rẹ̀ sílẹ̀. Àwọn olódodo ni a ó pamọ́ títí ayérayé, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ọmọ ènìyàn búburú ni a ó ké kúrò.
ע For Adonai 'ahav ·affectionately loves· mishpat ·justice·, and does not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 Olódodo ni yóò jogún ilẹ̀ náà, yóò sì máa gbé ibẹ̀ títí ayérayé.
The upright shall inherit the land, and live in it forever.
30 Ẹnu olódodo sọ̀rọ̀ ọgbọ́n, ahọ́n rẹ̀ a sì máa sọ̀rọ̀ ìdájọ́.
פּ The mouth of the upright talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks mishpat ·justice·.
31 Òfin Ọlọ́run rẹ̀ ń bẹ ní àyà wọn; àwọn ìgbésẹ̀ rẹ̀ kì yóò yẹ̀.
The Torah ·Teaching· of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.
32 Ènìyàn búburú ń ṣọ́ olódodo, Ó sì ń wá ọ̀nà láti pa á.
צ The wicked watches the upright, and seeks to kill him.
33 Olúwa kì yóò fi lé e lọ́wọ́ kì yóò sì dá a lẹ́bi, nígbà tí a bá ń ṣe ìdájọ́ rẹ̀.
Adonai will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him as guilty when he is judged.
34 Dúró de Olúwa, kí o sì máa pa ọ̀nà rẹ̀ mọ́. Yóò sì gbé ọ lékè láti jogún ilẹ̀ náà; nígbà tí a bá gé àwọn ènìyàn búburú kúrò ìwọ yóò ri.
ק Wait for Adonai, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.
35 Èmi ti rí ènìyàn búburú tí ń hu ìwà ìkà, ó sì fi ara rẹ̀ gbilẹ̀ bí igi tútù ńlá,
ר I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.
36 ṣùgbọ́n ní ìṣẹ́jú kan sí i ó kọjá lọ, sì kíyèsi, kò sì sí mọ́; bi ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ wí pé mo wá a kiri, ṣùgbọ́n a kò le è ri.
But he passed away, and behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Máa kíyèsi ẹni pípé, kí o sì wo ẹni tó dúró ṣinṣin; nítorí àlàáfíà ni òpin ọkùnrin náà.
שׁ Mark the perfect man, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.
38 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn olùrékọjá ni a ó parun papọ̀; ìran àwọn ènìyàn búburú ni a ó gé kúrò.
As for the rebellious who break away from authority thus breaking relationship, they shall be destroyed together. The future of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 Ìgbàlà àwọn onídùúró ṣinṣin wá láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa; òun ni ààbò wọn ní ìgbà ìpọ́njú
תּ But the salvation of the upright is from Adonai. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
40 Olúwa yóò ràn wọ́n lọ́wọ́ yóò sì gbà wọ́n; yóò gbà wọ́n lọ́wọ́ ènìyàn búburú, yóò sì gbà wọ́n là, nítorí tí wọ́n gbẹ́kẹ̀lé e.
Adonai helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them, Because they have taken refuge in him.
