< Psalms 36 >

1 Fún adarí orin. Ti Dafidi ìránṣẹ́ Olúwa. Ìré-òfin-kọjá ènìyàn búburú jẹ́ kí n mọ̀ nínú ọkàn mi pé, ìbẹ̀rù Ọlọ́run kò sí níwájú wọn.
[Wicked people continually desire to] sin. They consider [IDM] that they do not need to revere God.
2 Nítorí pé wọ́n pọ́n ara wọn ní ojú ara wọn títí tí a kò fi le rí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn láti kórìíra.
Because they are very proud, they do not think that God will discover their sins and condemn them (OR, they do not think about their sins and hate themselves for it).
3 Ọ̀rọ̀ ẹnu wọn ni ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ òhun ẹ̀tàn; wọ́n ti fi ọgbọ́n àti ṣíṣe rere sílẹ̀.
[Everything] that they say is deceitful and full of lies; they no longer do what is good and are no longer wise.
4 Wọ́n gbìmọ̀ ìwà ìkà nígbà tí wọ́n wà lórí ibùsùn wọn: wọ́n gba ọ̀nà tí kò dára wọn kò sì kọ ọ̀nà ibi sílẹ̀.
While they are lying on their beds, they plan to do things to harm [others]; they are determined to do things that are not good, and they never refuse [to do what is] evil.
5 Ìdúró ṣinṣin ìfẹ́ rẹ, ìwọ Olúwa, ó ga dé ọ̀run, òtítọ́ ọ̀ rẹ ga dé àwọsánmọ̀.
Yahweh, your faithful love for us reaches as high as the heavens, you faithfully [do what you have promised]; [it is as though your doing that] extends up to the clouds.
6 Òdodo rẹ dàbí àwọn òkè Ọlọ́run, àwọn ìdájọ́ rẹ dàbí ibú ńlá; ìwọ gba ẹranko àti ènìyàn là, Olúwa.
Your righteous behavior is [as permanent as] the highest mountains [MET], your acting justly [will continue as long as] the deepest oceans [exist]. You take care of people and you take care of animals.
7 Báwo ni ìṣeun ìdúró ṣinṣin ìfẹ́ rẹ ti tó! Ọlọ́run! Kí gbogbo ọmọ ènìyàn le sá sí abẹ́ òjìji ìyẹ́ rẹ.
God, your faithful love for us is very precious. You protect us like birds protect their baby birds under their wings [MET].
8 Àsè ilé rẹ yóò tẹ́ wọn lọ́rùn gidigidi; ìwọ yóò sì mú wọn mu nínú odò inú dídùn rẹ.
You provide for us plenty of food from the abundant supply [IDM] that you have; your great blessings for us [flow] like a river.
9 Nítorí pé pẹ̀lú rẹ ni orísun ìyè wà: nínú ìmọ́lẹ̀ rẹ ni àwa yóò rí ìmọ́lẹ̀.
You are the one who causes everything to live; your light is what enables us to see.
10 Mú ìṣeun ìfẹ́ ẹ̀ rẹ sí àwọn tí ó mọ̀ ọ́n àti ìgbàlà rẹ sí àwọn tí ó ní ìdúró ṣinṣin ọkàn!
Continue to faithfully love those who have experienced a relationship with you, and bless those who act righteously/justly.
11 Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ẹsẹ̀ agbéraga kí ó wá sí orí mi, kí o má sì jẹ́ kí ọwọ́ àwọn ènìyàn búburú sí mi ní ipò.
Do not allow proud people [SYN] to attack me, or allow wicked people to chase me away.
12 Níbẹ̀ ni àwọn oníṣẹ́ ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ gbé ṣubú sí: a rẹ̀ wọ́n sílẹ̀, wọn kì yóò le è dìde!
Look where evil people have fallen on the ground, defeated; they were thrown down, and they will never rise again.
