< Psalms 34 >
1 Tí Dafidi. Nígbà tí ó díbọ́n bí ẹni tí ń ṣe wèrè níwájú Abimeleki, ẹni tí ó lé e lọ, ó sì jáde lọ. Èmi yóò máa fi ìbùkún fún Olúwa nígbà gbogbo; ìyìn rẹ̀ yóò máa wà ní ẹnu mi títí láé.
Of David. When he made a change in his behaviour before Abimelech, who sent him away, and he went. I will be blessing the Lord at all times; his praise will be ever in my mouth.
2 Ọkàn mí yóò máa ṣògo nínú Olúwa; jẹ́ kí àwọn onírẹ̀lẹ̀ gbọ́ kí inú wọn kí ó sì máa dùn.
My soul will say great things of the Lord: the poor in spirit will have knowledge of it and be glad.
3 Gbé Olúwa ga pẹ̀lú mi; kí ẹ sì jẹ́ kí a jọ gbé orúkọ rẹ̀ lékè.
O give praise to the Lord with me; let us be witnesses together of his great name.
4 Èmi wá Olúwa, ó sì dá mi lóhùn; Ó sì gbà mí kúrò nínú ìbẹ̀rù mi gbogbo.
I was searching for the Lord, and he gave ear to my voice, and made me free from all my fears.
5 Wọ́n wò ó, ìmọ́lẹ̀ sì mọ́ wọn; ojú kò sì tì wọ́n.
Let your eyes be turned to him and you will have light, and your faces will not be shamed.
6 Ọkùnrin olùpọ́njú yí kígbe, Olúwa sì gbóhùn rẹ̀; ó sì gbà á là kúrò nínú gbogbo ìpọ́njú rẹ̀.
This poor man's cry came before the Lord, and he gave him salvation from all his troubles.
7 Angẹli Olúwa yí àwọn tí ó bẹ̀rù rẹ̀ ká ó sì gbà wọ́n.
The angel of the Lord is ever watching over those who have fear of him, to keep them safe.
8 Tọ́ ọ wò kí o sì rí i wí pé Olúwa dára; ẹni ayọ̀ ni ọkùnrin náà tí ó gbẹ́kẹ̀lé ààbò nínú rẹ̀.
By experience you will see that the Lord is good; happy is the man who has faith in him.
9 Ẹ bẹ̀rù Olúwa, ẹ̀yin ènìyàn rẹ̀ mímọ́, nítorí pé kò sí àìní fún àwọn tí ó bẹ̀rù rẹ̀.
Keep yourselves in the fear of the Lord, all you his saints; for those who do so will have no need of anything.
10 Àwọn ọmọ kìnnìún a máa ṣe aláìní ebi a sì máa pa wọ́n; ṣùgbọ́n àwọn tí ó wá Olúwa kì yóò ṣe aláìní ohun tí ó dára.
The young lions are in need and have no food; but those who are looking to the Lord will have every good thing.
11 Wá, ẹ̀yin ọmọ mi, fi etí sí mi; èmi yóò kọ́ ọ yín ní ẹ̀rù Olúwa.
Come, children, give attention to me; I will be your teacher in the fear of the Lord.
12 Ta ni nínú yín tí ń fẹ́ ìyè, tí ó sì ń fẹ́ ọjọ́ púpọ̀; kí ó lè gbádùn ọjọ́ rere?
What man has a love of life, and a desire that his days may be increased so that he may see good?
13 Pa ahọ́n rẹ̀ mọ́ kúrò nínú ibi àti ètè rẹ̀ kúrò ní ẹ̀tàn sísọ.
Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from words of deceit.
14 Yà kúrò nínú ibi kí o sì ṣe rere; wá àlàáfíà, kí o sì lépa rẹ̀.
Be turned from evil, and do good; make a search for peace, desiring it with all your heart.
15 Ojú Olúwa ń bẹ lára àwọn olódodo; etí i rẹ̀ sì ṣí sí ẹkún wọn.
The eyes of the Lord are on the upright, and his ears are open to their cry.
16 Ojú Olúwa korò sí àwọn tí ń ṣe búburú; láti ké ìrántí wọn kúrò lórí ilẹ̀.
The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to take away the memory of them from the earth.
17 Nígbà tí olódodo bá ké fún ìrànlọ́wọ́, Olúwa a máa gbọ́, a sì yọ wọ́n jáde láti inú gbogbo wàhálà wọn.
The cry of the upright comes before the Lord, and he takes them out of all their troubles.
18 Olúwa súnmọ́ etí ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn oníròbìnújẹ́ ọkàn; ó sì gba irú àwọn tí í ṣe oníròra ọkàn là.
The Lord is near the broken-hearted; he is the saviour of those whose spirits are crushed down.
19 Ìpọ́njú àwọn olódodo pọ̀, ṣùgbọ́n Olúwa gbà wọ́n kúrò nínú gbogbo rẹ̀.
Great are the troubles of the upright: but the Lord takes him safely out of them all.
20 Ó pa gbogbo egungun wọn mọ́; kò sí ọ̀kan tí ó dá nínú wọn.
He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken.
21 Ibi ni ó mú ikú ìkà wá, àti àwọn tí ó kórìíra olódodo ni yóò jẹ̀bi.
Evil will put an end to the sinner, and those who are haters of righteousness will come to destruction.
22 Olúwa ra ọkàn àwọn ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ padà; kò sí ọ̀kan nínú àwọn tí ó gbẹ́kẹ̀lé tí yóò jẹ̀bi.
The Lord will be the saviour of the souls of his servants, and no one who has faith in him will be put to shame.
