< Psalms 33 >
1 Ẹ yọ̀ nínú Olúwa, ẹ̀yin olódodo; ìyìn si yẹ fún ẹni dídúró ṣinṣin.
[A Psalm] of David. Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous; praise becomes the upright.
2 Ẹ yin Olúwa pẹ̀lú dùùrù; ẹ máa fi ohun èlò olókùn mẹ́wàá kọrin sí i.
Praise the Lord on the harp; platy to him on a lute of ten strings.
3 Ẹ kọ orin tuntun sí i; ẹ máa fi ọgbọọgbọ́n lu ohun èlò orin sí i, pẹ̀lú ariwo.
Sing to him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
4 Nítorí pé ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa dúró ṣinṣin, gbogbo iṣẹ́ rẹ̀ ni à ń ṣe nínú òtítọ́.
For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are faithful.
5 Ó fẹ́ òtítọ́ àti ìdájọ́; ilé ayé kún fún ìdúró ṣinṣin àti àánú Olúwa.
He loves mercy and judgement; the earth is full the mercy of the Lord.
6 Nípasẹ̀ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa ni a ṣe dá àwọn ọ̀run, àti gbogbo àwọn ẹgbẹ́ ogun wọn nípa ìmísí ẹnu rẹ̀.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the host of them by the breath of his [mouth].
7 Ó kó àwọn omi òkun jọ gẹ́gẹ́ bí èyí tí ó wà nínú ìgò; ó sì fi ibú ṣe ilé ìṣúra gbogbo.
Who gathers the waters of the sea as [in] a bottle; who lays up the deeps in treasuries.
8 Jẹ́ kí gbogbo ayé kí ó bẹ̀rù Olúwa: jẹ́ kí gbogbo àwọn olùgbé ayé kí ó wà nínú ìbẹ̀rù rẹ̀.
Let all the earth fear the Lord; and let all that dwell in the world be moved because of him.
9 Nítorí tí ó sọ̀rọ̀, ó sì ti rí bẹ́ẹ̀; ó pàṣẹ ó sì dúró ṣinṣin.
For he spoke, and they were made; he commanded, and they were created.
10 Olúwa ti mú ìmọ̀ràn àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè wá sí asán; ó sì mú àrékérekè àwọn ènìyàn di ṣíṣákì í.
The Lord frustrates the counsels of the nations; he brings to nothing also the reasonings of the peoples, and brings to nothing the counsels of princes.
11 Ìgbìmọ̀ Olúwa dúró títí ayérayé, àní ìrò inú rẹ̀ láti ìrandíran ni.
But the counsel of the Lord endures for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.
12 Ìbùkún ni fún orílẹ̀-èdè náà, Ọlọ́run ẹni tí Olúwa jẹ́ tirẹ̀, àti àwọn ènìyàn náà tí ó ti yàn ṣe ìní rẹ̀.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.
13 Olúwa wò láti ọ̀run wá; Ó sì rí gbogbo ìran ènìyàn.
The Lord looks out of heaven; he beholds all the sons of men.
14 Níbi tí ó ti jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ Ó wo gbogbo àwọn olùgbé ayé
He looks from his prepared habitation on all the dwellers on the earth;
15 ẹni tí ó ṣe àyà wọn bákan náà, ó sì kíyèsi ìṣe wọn.
who fashioned their hearts alone; who understands all their works.
16 A kò gba ọba kan là nípasẹ̀ ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ àwọn ọmọ-ogun; kò sì sí jagunjagun tí a gbà sílẹ̀ nípa agbára ńlá rẹ̀.
A king is not saved by reason of a great host; and a giant shall not be delivered by the greatness of his strength.
17 Ohun asán ni ẹṣin fún ìṣẹ́gun; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì yóò fi agbára ńlá rẹ̀ gbani sílẹ̀.
A horse is vain for safety; neither shall he be delivered by the greatness of his power.
18 Wò ó, ojú Olúwa wà lára àwọn tí ó bẹ̀rù rẹ̀, àti lára àwọn tí ó ní ìrètí nínú ìfẹ́ rẹ̀ tí ó dúró ṣinṣin.
Behold, the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him, those that hope in his mercy;
19 Láti gba ọkàn wọn kúrò lọ́wọ́ ikú àti láti pa wọ́n mọ́ láààyè lọ́wọ́ ìyàn.
to deliver their souls from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Ọkàn wa dúró de Olúwa; òun ni ìrànlọ́wọ́ wa àti asà wa.
Our soul waits on the Lord; for he is our helper and defender.
21 Ọkàn wa yọ̀ nínú rẹ̀, nítorí pé, àwa gbẹ́kẹ̀lé orúkọ rẹ mímọ́.
For our heart shall rejoice in him, and we have hoped in his holy name.
22 Kí àánú rẹ, Olúwa, kí ó wà lára wa, àní gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwa ti ń ṣe ìrètí nínú rẹ.
Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we have hoped in you.
