< Psalms 30 >
1 Saamu. Orin. Fún ìyàsímímọ́ Tẹmpili. Ti Dafidi. Èmi yóò kókìkí i rẹ, Olúwa, nítorí ìwọ ni ó gbé mi lékè tí ìwọ kò sì jẹ́ kí àwọn ọ̀tá mi kí ó yọ̀ mí.
Yahweh, I praise you because you rescued me. You did not allow [me to die], [with the result that] my enemies could gloat/rejoice.
2 Olúwa Ọlọ́run mi, èmi ké pè ọ́ fún ìrànlọ́wọ́, ìwọ sì ti wò mí sàn.
Yahweh, my God, I called out for you to help [me when I was ill], and you healed me.
3 Olúwa, ìwọ ti yọ ọkàn mi jáde kúrò nínú isà òkú, mú mi padà bọ̀ sípò alààyè kí èmi má ba à lọ sínú ihò. (Sheol )
You saved/restored me when I was dying [MTY]. I was nearly dead, but you caused me to get well again. (Sheol )
4 Kọ orin ìyìn sí Olúwa, ẹ̀yin olódodo; kí ẹ sì fi ọpẹ́ fún orúkọ rẹ̀ mímọ́.
All you who belong to Yahweh, sing praise to him! Think about what [God], the holy one, has done, and thank him!
5 Nítorí pé ìbínú rẹ̀ wà fún ìgbà díẹ̀, ojúrere rẹ̀ wà títí ayérayé; ẹkún lè pẹ́ títí di alẹ́, ṣùgbọ́n ayọ̀ yóò wá ní òwúrọ̀.
When he becomes angry, he is angry for only a very short time [HYP], but he is good [to us] all of our life. We may cry during the night, but the next morning we will be joyful.
6 Ní ìgbà ayé mi, mo wí pé, “a kì yóò ṣí mi ní ipò padà.”
As for me, when I had no troubles, I said [to myself], “No one will defeat me!”
7 Nípa ojúrere rẹ, Olúwa, ìwọ ti gbé mi kalẹ̀ bí òkè tí ó ní agbára; ìwọ pa ojú rẹ mọ́, àyà sì fò mí.
Yahweh, because you were good to me, at first you caused me to be safe [as though I was inside] [MET] a mountain. But then [I became ill, and I thought that] you had turned away from me, and I became afraid.
8 Sí ọ Olúwa, ni mo ké pè é; àti sí Olúwa ni mo sọkún fún àánú:
[Then] I called out to you, and I pleaded for you [to help me].
9 “Èrè kí ni ó wà nínú ikú ìparun mi, nínú lílọ sí ihò mi? Eruku yóò a yìn ọ́ bí? Ǹjẹ́ yóò sọ nípa òdodo rẹ?
[I said], “Yahweh, (what will you gain if I die?/ you won’t gain anything if I die) [MTY]. (In what way will it benefit you?/it won’t benefit you at all) if I go to the place where the dead people are [RHQ]. Dead people are certainly not able to praise you [RHQ], and they are not able to tell others that you are trustworthy [RHQ]!
10 Gbọ́, Olúwa, kí o sì ṣàánú fún mi; ìwọ Olúwa, jẹ́ olùrànlọ́wọ́ mi.”
Yahweh, listen to me, and be merciful to me! Yahweh, help me!”
11 Ìwọ ti yí ìkáàánú mi di ijó fún mi; ìwọ sì ti bọ́ aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀ mi, o sì fi aṣọ ayọ̀ wọ̀ mí,
But [now you have healed me], and you have caused me to change from being sad to dancing [joyfully]. You have taken away the clothes that showed that I was very sad and you have given me clothes that showed that I was [very] joyful.
12 nítorí ìdí èyí ni kí ọkàn mi máa yìn ọ́, kí o má sì ṣe dákẹ́. Ìwọ Olúwa Ọlọ́run mi, èmi yóò máa fi ọpẹ́ fún ọ títí láé.
So I will not be silent; I will sing out [loudly] to praise you. Yahweh, you are my God, and I will thank you forever.
