< Psalms 2 >
1 Èéṣe tí àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè fi ń dìtẹ̀, àti tí àwọn ènìyàn ń ṣe rìkíṣí asán?
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 Àwọn ọba ayé péjọpọ̀ àti àwọn ìjòyè gbìmọ̀ pọ̀ sí Olúwa àti sí ẹni àmì òróró rẹ̀.
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, [saying],
3 Wọ́n sọ pé, “Ẹ jẹ́ kí a fa ẹ̀wọ̀n wọn já, kí a sì ju ṣẹ́kẹ́ṣẹkẹ̀ wọn nù.”
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 Ẹni tí ó gúnwà lórí ìtẹ́ lọ́run rẹ́rìn-ín; Olúwa fi wọ́n rẹ́rìn-ín ẹlẹ́yà.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.
5 Nígbà náà ni yóò bá wọn wí ní ìbínú rẹ̀ yóò sì dẹ́rùbà wọ́n ní ìrunú rẹ̀, ó wí pé,
Then shall he speak to them in his wrath, and trouble them in his sore displeasure.
6 “Èmi ti fi ọba mi sí ipò lórí Sioni, òkè mímọ́ mi.”
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 Èmi yóò sì kéde ìpinnu Olúwa: Ó sọ fún mi pé, “Ìwọ ni ọmọ mi; lónìí, èmi ti di baba rẹ.
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said to me, Thou [art] my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Béèrè lọ́wọ́ mi, Èmi yóò jẹ́ kí orílẹ̀-èdè di ìní rẹ, òpin ilé ayé yóò sì jẹ́ ogún rẹ.
Ask of me, and I will give [thee] the heathen [for] thy inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth [for] thy possession.
9 Ìwọ yóò fi ọ̀pá irin ṣe àkóso wọn ìwọ yóò sì rún wọn wómúwómú bí ìkòkò amọ̀.”
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10 Nítorí náà, ẹ̀yin ọba, ẹ jẹ́ ọlọ́gbọ́n; ẹ gbọ́ ìkìlọ̀ ẹ̀yin alákòóso ayé.
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Ẹ sin Olúwa pẹ̀lú ìbẹ̀rù ẹ sì máa yọ̀ pẹ̀lú ìwárìrì.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Fi ẹnu ko ọmọ náà ní ẹnu, kí ó má ba à bínú, kí ó má ba à pa yín run ní ọ̀nà yín, nítorí ìbínú rẹ̀ lè ru sókè ní ẹ̀ẹ̀kan. Ìbùkún ni fún gbogbo àwọn tí ó fi í ṣe ibi ìsádi wọn.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish [from] the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed [are] all they that put their trust in him.
