< Psalms 16 >
1 Miktamu ti Dafidi. Pa mí mọ́, Ọlọ́run, nítorí nínú rẹ ni ààbò mi wà.
[A Poem by David.] Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
2 Mo sọ fún Olúwa, “Ìwọ ni Olúwa mi, lẹ́yìn rẹ èmi kò ní ìre kan.”
I said to Jehovah, "You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing."
3 Sí àwọn ènìyàn tí ó wà ní ayé, àwọn ni ológo nínú èyí tí ayọ̀ mí wà.
As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
4 Ìṣòro àwọn wọ̀n-ọn-nì yóò pọ̀ sí i, àní àwọn tí ń tọ ọlọ́run mìíràn lẹ́yìn. Ẹbọ ohun mímu ẹ̀jẹ̀ wọn ni èmi kì yóò ta sílẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi kì yóò dá orúkọ wọn lẹ́nu mi.
Their sorrows will multiply who pay a dowry for another. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.
5 Olúwa, ni ìpín ìní mi tí mo yàn àti ago mi, ó ti pa ohun tí í ṣe tèmi mọ́.
Jehovah is the portion of my inheritance and my cup. You made my lot secure.
6 Okùn ààlà ilẹ̀ ti bọ́ sí ọ̀dọ̀ mi ní ibi dídára; nítòótọ́ mo ti ní ogún rere.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, beautiful is my inheritance.
7 Èmi yóò yin Olúwa, ẹni tí ó gbà mí ní ìyànjú; ní òru, ọkàn mí ń bá mi sọ̀rọ̀.
I will bless Jehovah, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
8 Mo ti gbé Olúwa síwájú mi ní ìgbà gbogbo. Nítorí tí ó wà ní ọwọ́ ọ̀tún mi, a kì yóò mì mí.
I have put Jehovah before me at all times. Because he is at my right hand I will never be upended.
9 Nítorí èyí, ọkàn mi yọ̀, ahọ́n mi pẹ̀lú ń fò fáyọ̀; ara mi pẹ̀lú yóò sinmi ní ààbò,
Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.
10 nítorí ìwọ kò ní fi ọ̀kan sílẹ̀ nínú isà òkú, tàbí kí ìwọ jẹ́ kí ẹni mímọ́ rẹ kí ó rí ìdíbàjẹ́. (Sheol )
For you will not abandon my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay. (Sheol )
11 Ìwọ ti fi ipa ọ̀nà ìyè hàn mí; Ìwọ yóò kún mi pẹ̀lú ayọ̀ ní iwájú rẹ, pẹ̀lú ìdùnnú ayérayé ní ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ.
You make known to me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
