< Psalms 144 >
1 Ti Dafidi. Ìyìn sí Olúwa àpáta mi, ẹni tí ó kọ́ ọwọ́ mi fún ogun, àti ìka mi fún ìjà.
Blessed be Yhwh my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
2 Òun ni Ọlọ́run ìfẹ́ mi àti odi alágbára mi, ibi gíga mi àti olùgbàlà mi, asà mi, ẹni tí èmi gbẹ́kẹ̀lé, ẹni tí ó tẹrí àwọn ènìyàn ba lábẹ́ mi.
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
3 Olúwa, kí ni ènìyàn tí ìwọ fi ń ṣàníyàn fún un, tàbí ọmọ ènìyàn tí ìwọ fi ń ronú nípa rẹ̀?
Yhwh, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!
4 Ènìyàn rí bí èmi; ọjọ́ rẹ̀ rí bí òjìji tí ń kọjá lọ.
Man is like to vanity: his days are as a shadow that passeth away.
5 Tẹ ọ̀run rẹ ba, Olúwa, kí o sì sọ̀kalẹ̀; tọ́ àwọn òkè ńlá wọn yóò sí rú èéfín.
Bow thy heavens, O Yhwh, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
6 Rán mọ̀nàmọ́ná kí ó sì fọ́n àwọn ọ̀tá ká; ta ọfà rẹ kí ó sì dà wọ́n rú.
Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.
7 Na ọwọ́ rẹ sílẹ̀ láti ibi gíga; gbà mí kí o sì yọ mí nínú ewu kúrò nínú omi ńlá: kúrò lọ́wọ́ àwọn ọmọ àjèjì.
Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
8 Ẹnu ẹni tí ó kún fún èké ẹni tí ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ̀ jẹ́ ìrẹ́jẹ.
Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
9 Èmi yóò kọ orin tuntun sí ọ Ọlọ́run; lára ohun èlò orin olókùn mẹ́wàá èmi yóò kọ orin sí ọ.
I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.
10 Òun ni ó fi ìgbàlà fún àwọn ọba, ẹni tí ó gba Dafidi ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀ lọ́wọ́ idà ìpanilára. Lọ́wọ́ pípanirun.
It is he that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.
11 Gbà mí kí o sì yọ mí nínú ewu kúrò lọ́wọ́ àwọn ọmọ àjèjì tí ẹnu wọn kún fún èké, tí ọwọ́ ọ̀tún wọn jẹ́ ọwọ́ ọ̀tún èké.
Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:
12 Kí àwọn ọmọkùnrin wa kí ó dàbí igi gbígbìn tí ó dàgbà ni ìgbà èwe wọn, àti ọmọbìnrin wa yóò dàbí òpó ilé tí a ṣe ọ̀nà sí bí àfarawé ààfin.
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
13 Àká wa yóò kún pẹ̀lú gbogbo onírúurú oúnjẹ àgùntàn wa yóò pọ̀ si ní ẹgbẹ̀rún, ní ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́wàá ní oko wa:
That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
14 àwọn màlúù wa yóò ru ẹrù wúwo kí ó má sí ìkọlù, kí ó má sí ìkólọ sí ìgbèkùn, kí ó má sí i igbe ìpọ́njú ní ìgboro wa.
That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
15 Ìbùkún ni fún àwọn ènìyàn náà tí ó wà ní irú ipò bẹ́ẹ̀, ìbùkún ni fún àwọn ènìyàn náà, tí ẹni tí Ọlọ́run Olúwa ń ṣe.
Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is Yhwh.
