< Psalms 123 >

1 Orin fún ìgòkè. Ìwọ ní mo gbé ojú mí sókè sí, ìwọ tí ń gbé inú ọ̀run.
A song for pilgrims going up to Jerusalem. I look up to you, the one who rules from heaven.
2 Kíyèsi, bí ojú àwọn ìránṣẹ́kùnrin ti máa ń wo ọwọ́ àwọn baba wọn, àti bí ojú ìránṣẹ́bìnrin ti máa ń wo ọwọ́ ìyá rẹ̀ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ojú wa ń wo Olúwa Ọlọ́run wa, títí yóò fi ṣàánú fún wa.
Just as servants look to their master, or a maid looks to her mistress, so we keep our eyes on you, Lord our God, waiting for you to be merciful to us.
3 Olúwa, ṣàánú fún wa, ṣàánú fún wa; nítorí tí a kún fún ẹ̀gàn púpọ̀púpọ̀.
Please have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy. We've had enough of people's contempt.
4 Ọkàn wa kún púpọ̀ fún ẹ̀gàn àwọn onírera, àti fún ẹ̀gàn àwọn agbéraga.
We've had more than enough of the scorn of the proud, and the contempt of the arrogant.
