< Psalms 116 >
1 Èmi fẹ́ràn Olúwa, nítorí ó gbọ́ ohùn mi; ó gbọ́ ẹkún mi fún àánú.
I love Yahweh—because he heareth my voice, my supplications;
2 Nítorí ó yí etí rẹ̀ padà sí mi, èmi yóò máa pè é ni wọ́n ìgbà tí mo wà láààyè.
Because he hath bowed down his ear unto me, therefore, throughout my days, will I call.
3 Okùn ikú yí mi ká, ìrora isà òkú wá sórí mi; ìyọnu àti ìbànújẹ́ borí mi. (Sheol )
The meshes of death encompassed me, and the distresses of hades, came upon me, Peril and sorrow, I found; (Sheol )
4 Nígbà náà ni mo ké pe orúkọ Olúwa: “Olúwa, èmi bẹ̀ ọ́, gba ọkàn mi!”
But, on the Name of Yahweh, I called—I beseech thee, Yahweh, deliver my soul.
5 Olúwa ní oore-ọ̀fẹ́, ó sì ní òdodo; Ọlọ́run wa kún fún àánú.
Gracious is Yahweh and righteous, and, our God, is full of compassion.
6 Olúwa pa àwọn ọlọ́kàn fífúyẹ́ mọ́ nígbà tí mo wà nínú àìní ńlá, ó gbà mí.
Yahweh, preserveth the simple, I was brought low, when, to me, he granted salvation.
7 Padà, ìwọ ọkàn mi, sí ibi ìsinmi rẹ, nítorí Olúwa ṣe dáradára sí ọ.
Return, O my soul, to thy rest, For, Yahweh, hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 Nítorí ìwọ, Olúwa, ti gba ọkàn mi kúrò lọ́wọ́ ikú, ojú mi kúrò lọ́wọ́ omijé, àti ẹsẹ̀ mi kúrò lọ́wọ́ ìṣubú,
For thou hast rescued my soul from death, —mine eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
9 nítorí èmi yóò máa rìn níwájú Olúwa ní ilẹ̀ alààyè.
I will walk to and fro before Yahweh, in the lands of life.
10 Èmi gbàgbọ́; nítorí náà mo wí pé, “èmi rí ìpọ́njú púpọ̀”.
I believed that I should speak, I, was greatly depressed.
11 Àti nínú ìdààmú mi mo wí pé, “Èké ni gbogbo ènìyàn”.
I, said in mine alarm, All men, are false!
12 Kí ni èmi yóò san fún Olúwa nítorí gbogbo rere rẹ̀ sí mi?
How shall I give back to Yahweh, All his benefits unto me?
13 Èmi yóò gbé ago ìgbàlà sókè èmi yóò sì máa ké pe orúkọ Olúwa.
The cup of salvation, will I lift, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
14 Èmi yóò mú ìlérí mi ṣẹ sí Olúwa ní ojú àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀.
My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in presence of all his people!
15 Iyebíye ní ojú Olúwa àti ikú àwọn ẹni mímọ́ rẹ̀.
Costly in the eyes of Yahweh, is, death, for his men of lovingkindness.
16 Olúwa, nítòótọ́ ìránṣẹ́ rẹ ni mo jẹ́; èmi ni ìránṣẹ́ rẹ, ọmọ ìránṣẹ́bìnrin rẹ; ó ti tú mi sílẹ̀ nínú ìdè mi.
I beseech thee, O Yahweh—for, I, am thy servant, —I, am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid, Thou hast loosened my bonds.
17 Èmi yóò rú ẹbọ ọpẹ́ sí ọ èmi yóò sì ké pe orúkọ Olúwa.
To thee, will I sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
18 Èmi yóò mú ìlérí mi sẹ sí Olúwa ní ojú gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀,
My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in the presence of all his people; —
19 nínú àgbàlá ilé Olúwa ní àárín rẹ̀, ìwọ Jerusalẹmu. Ẹ yin Olúwa.
In the courts of the house of Yahweh, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye Yah!
