1 Nígbà tí Israẹli jáde ní Ejibiti, ilé Jakọbu láti inú ènìyàn àjèjì èdè
When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
2 Juda wà ní ibi mímọ́, Israẹli wà ní ìjọba.
Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
3 Òkun sì rí i, ó sì wárìrì: Jordani sì padà sẹ́yìn.
The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
4 Àwọn òkè ńlá ń fò bí àgbò àti òkè kéékèèké bí ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn.
The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
5 Kí ni ó ṣe ọ́, ìwọ Òkun, tí ìwọ fi wárìrì? Ìwọ Jordani, tí ìwọ fi padà sẹ́yìn?
What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6 Ẹ̀yin òkè ńlá kí ló dé ti ẹ fi ń fò bí àgbò, àti ẹ̀yin òkè kéékèèké bí ọ̀dọ́-àgùntàn?
Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
7 Wárìrì, ìwọ ilẹ̀, níwájú Olúwa; ní iwájú Ọlọ́run Jakọbu
Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
8 tí ó sọ àpáta di adágún omi, àti òkúta-ìbọn di orísun omi.
Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
