< Philemon 1 >

1 Èmi Paulu, ẹni tí a fi sẹ́wọ̀n nítorí pé ó ń wàásù ìyìnrere Jesu Kristi àti Timotiu arákùnrin wa, Sí Filemoni ọ̀rẹ́ wa ọ̀wọ́n àti alábáṣiṣẹ́ wa,
Paul, prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy my brother, —unto Philemon the beloved, and a fellow worker of ours,
2 sí Affia arábìnrin wa, sí Arkippu ẹni tó jẹ́ jagunjagun fún àgbélébùú náà àti sí ìjọ àwọn Kristiani tí ó ń pàdé nínú ilé rẹ:
And unto Apphia our sister. And unto Archippus our fellow-soldier, and unto the assembly which meeteth, at thy house:
3 Oore-ọ̀fẹ́ fún un yín àti àlàáfíà láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run Baba wa àti Jesu Kristi.
Favour unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Èmi máa ń dúpẹ́ lọ́wọ́ Ọlọ́run nígbà tí mo bá rántí rẹ nínú àdúrà mi,
I am giving thanks unto my God—always, making mention, of thee, in my prayers,
5 nítorí mo ń gbọ́ nípa ìgbàgbọ́ rẹ nínú Jesu Olúwa àti nípa ìfẹ́ rẹ sí àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́.
Hearing of thy love, and of the faith which thou hast towards the Lord Jesus and towards all the saints, —
6 Èmi ń gbàdúrà pé, bí ìwọ ti ń ṣe alábápín nínú ìgbàgbọ́ rẹ pẹ̀lú àwọn ẹlòmíràn, pé kí ìgbàgbọ́ náà lè mú ọkàn wọn dúró gbọingbọin, gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọn ti rí àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ ohun rere tí ó ń bẹ nínú ayé rẹ, èyí tí ó ti ọ̀dọ̀ Kristi wá.
To the end that, the fellowship of thy faith, may become, energetic, by a personal knowledge of every good thing that is in us towards Christ;
7 Ìfẹ́ rẹ ti fún mi ní ayọ̀ púpọ̀ àti ìgboyà, nítorí ìwọ, arákùnrin ti tu ọkàn àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ lára.
For, much joy, have I had, and encouragement, by occasion of thy love, in that, the tender affections of the saints, have had rest given them by thee, brother.
8 Nítorí náà, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé nínú Kristi mo ní ìgboyà púpọ̀ láti pàṣẹ ohun ti ó yẹ kí ó ṣe fún ọ,
Wherefore, though I have, much, freedom of speech, in Christ, to be enjoining upon thee that which is befitting,
9 síbẹ̀ nítorí ìfẹ́ èmí kúkú bẹ̀ ọ́. Èmi gẹ́gẹ́ bí Paulu, arúgbó, àti nísinsin yìí òǹdè Jesu Kristi.
Yet, for loves sake, I rather exhort, —being, such a one, as Paul the aged, now, also, even a prisoner of Christ Jesus, —
10 Èmí bẹ̀ ọ́ nítorí ọmọ mi Onesimu, ẹni tí ó di ọmọ nígbà tí mo wà nínú ìdè.
I exhort thee concerning my own child, whom I have begotten in my bonds, —Onesimus:
11 Nígbà kan rí, kò wúlò fún ọ, ṣùgbọ́n ní báyìí, ó ti wúlò fún ọ àti fún èmi pàápàá.
Him who, at one time, was, unto thee, unserviceable, but, now, unto thee and unto me, serviceable;
12 Èmi rán an nísinsin yìí, àní ẹni ọkàn mi padà sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ.
Whom I have sent back unto thee—him, that is, my own, tender affections!—
13 Èmi ìbá fẹ́ láti dá a dúró sọ́dọ̀ mi níhìn-ín, kí ó ba à dípò rẹ láti máa ràn mí lọ́wọ́ nígbà tí mo wà nínú ìdè nítorí ìyìnrere
Whom, I, was minded, with myself, to detain, that, in thy behalf, unto me, he might be ministering in the bonds of the joyful message;
14 ṣùgbọ́n èmi kò fẹ́ ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ rárá láìgba ìyọ̀ǹda ní ọwọ́ rẹ, kí oore tí ìwọ bá ṣe má ba à jẹ́ ìfipámúniṣe bí kò ṣe ìfìfẹ́ṣe.
But, apart from thy mind, I wished to do, nothing, that, not as by necessity, thy goodness should be, but, by choice.
15 Bóyá ìdí rẹ̀ tí òun fi yẹra kúrò lọ́dọ̀ rẹ fún ìgbà díẹ̀ ni pé kí ìwọ kí ó lè gbà á padà sọ́dọ̀ títí láé. (aiōnios g166)
For, peradventure, for this cause, was he separated for an hour, that, as an age-abiding possession, thou mightest have him back, — (aiōnios g166)
16 Kì í wá ṣe bí ẹrú mọ́, ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹni ti ó sàn ju ẹrú lọ, gẹ́gẹ́ bí arákùnrin. Ó ṣọ̀wọ́n fún mi jọjọ, ṣùgbọ́n ó ṣọ̀wọ́n fún ọ jù nípa ti ara àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí arákùnrin nínú Olúwa.
No longer as a servant, but above a servant—a brother beloved, very greatly to me, but, how much rather, to thee—both in the flesh and in the Lord!
17 Nítorí náà bí ìwọ bá kà mí sí ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ̀, tẹ́wọ́ gbà á bí ìwọ yóò ti tẹ́wọ́ gbà mí.
If, therefore, thou holdest me as one in thy fellowship, take him unto thee, as myself;
18 Bí ó bá ti ṣe ọ́ ní ibi kan tàbí jẹ ọ́ ní gbèsè ohun kan, kà á sí mi lọ́rùn.
And, if he hath wronged thee at all or oweth thee aught, the same, unto me, do thou reckon: —
19 Èmi Paulu, ni mo fi ọwọ́ ara mi kọ ìwé yìí; èmi yóò san án padà láì tilẹ̀ ní í sọ nípa pé ìwọ pàápàá jẹ mi ní gbèsè ara rẹ.
I, Paul, have written [it] with, my own, hand, —I, will repay [it]; that I may not tell thee—that, thyself, unto me, thou still owest.
20 Èmi ń fẹ́ arákùnrin, pé kí èmi kí ó lè ni àǹfààní kan láti ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ nínú Olúwa; fi ayọ̀ rẹ kún ọkàn mi nínú Kristi.
Yea! brother, I, would, from thee, have help, in the Lord: give rest unto my tender affections in Christ.
21 Ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé ti mo ní pé ìwọ yóò gbọ́rọ̀, ni mo fi kọ ìwé yìí ránṣẹ́ sí ọ. Mo mọ̀ dájú pé ìwọ yóò ṣe ju bí mo ti béèrè lọ.
Confident of thine obedience, I have written unto thee, knowing that, even beyond what I say, thou wilt do: —
22 Ó ku ohun kan, ṣe ìtọ́jú iyàrá àlejò rẹ sílẹ̀ fún mi, nítorí mo ní ìgbàgbọ́ pé a óò tú mi sílẹ̀ fún yín ní ìdáhùn sí àdúrà yín.
At the same time, moreover, be also getting ready for me, a lodging; for I am hoping that, through your prayers, I shall be granted as a favour unto you.
23 Epafira, òǹdè ẹlẹgbẹ́ mi nínú Kristi Jesu kí ọ.
There salute thee—Epaphras my fellow-captive in Christ Jesus,
24 Marku kí ọ pẹ̀lú Aristarku, Dema àti Luku, àwọn alábáṣiṣẹ́ mi.
Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, —my fellow-workers.
25 Kí oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Jesu Kristi Olúwa wa wà pẹ̀lú ẹ̀mí yín.
The favour of the Lord Jesus Christ, be with your spirit.
