< Matthew 19 >

1 Lẹ́yìn tí Jesu ti parí ọ̀rọ̀ yìí, ó kúrò ní Galili. Ó sì yípo padà sí Judea, ó gba ìhà kejì odò Jordani.
When Jesus had finished saying these things, He left Galilee and went into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan.
2 Ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn sì ń tọ̀ ọ́ lẹ́yìn, ó sì mú wọn láradá níbẹ̀.
Large crowds followed Him, and He healed them there.
3 Àwọn Farisi wá sọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ láti dán an wò. Wọ́n bi í pé, “Ǹjẹ́ ó tọ̀nà fún ọkùnrin láti kọ ìyàwó rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ nítorí ohunkóhun?”
Then some Pharisees came and tested Him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”
4 Ó dáhùn ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ẹyin kò ti kà á pé ‘ẹni tí ó dá wọn ní ìgbà àtètèkọ́ṣe, Ọlọ́run dá wọn ni ti akọ ti abo.’
Jesus answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’
5 Ó sì wí fún un pé, ‘Nítorí ìdí èyí ọkùnrin yóò fi baba àti ìyá rẹ̀ sílẹ̀, òun yóò sì dàpọ̀ mọ́ aya rẹ̀, àwọn méjèèjì yóò sì di ara kan.’
and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?
6 Wọn kì í túnṣe méjì mọ́, ṣùgbọ́n ara kan. Nítorí náà, ohun tí Ọlọ́run bá ti so ṣọ̀kan, kí ẹnikẹ́ni má ṣe yà wọ́n.”
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
7 Wọ́n bi í pé: “Kí ni ìdí tí Mose fi pàṣẹ pé, ọkùnrin kan lè kọ ìyàwó rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ nípa fífún un ní ìwé ìkọ̀sílẹ̀?”
“Why then,” they asked, “did Moses order a man to give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
8 Jesu dáhùn pé, “Nítorí líle àyà yín ni Mose ṣe gbà fún yín láti máa kọ aya yín sílẹ̀. Ṣùgbọ́n láti ìgbà àtètèkọ́ṣe wá, kò rí bẹ́ẹ̀.
Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hardness of heart; but it was not this way from the beginning.
9 Mo sọ èyí fún yín pé, ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá kọ aya rẹ̀ sílẹ̀, láìṣe pé nítorí àgbèrè, tí ó bá sì fẹ́ ẹlòmíràn, ó ṣe panṣágà.”
Now I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman, commits adultery.”
10 Àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ wí fún un pé, “Bí ọ̀rọ̀ bá rí báyìí láàrín ọkọ àti aya, kó ṣàǹfààní fún wa láti gbé ìyàwó.”
His disciples said to Him, “If this is the case between a man and his wife, it is better not to marry.”
11 Jesu dáhùn pé, “Gbogbo ènìyàn kọ́ ló lé gba ọ̀rọ̀ yìí, bí kò ṣe iye àwọn tí a ti fún.
“Not everyone can accept this word,” He replied, “but only those to whom it has been given.
12 Àwọn mìíràn jẹ́ akúra nítorí bẹ́ẹ̀ ní a bí wọn, àwọn mìíràn ń bẹ tí ènìyàn sọ wọn di bẹ́ẹ̀; àwọn mìíràn kọ̀ láti gbé ìyàwó nítorí ìjọba ọ̀run. Ẹni tí ó bá lè gbà á kí ó gbà á.”
For there are eunuchs who were born that way; others were made that way by men; and still others live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
13 Lẹ́yìn náà a sì gbé àwọn ọmọ ọwọ́ wá sọ́dọ̀ Jesu, kí ó lè gbé ọwọ́ lé wọn, kí ó sì gbàdúrà fún wọn. Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ bá àwọn tí ó gbé wọn wá wí.
Then the little children were brought to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. And the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 Ṣùgbọ́n Jesu dáhùn pé, “Ẹ jẹ́ kí àwọn ọmọdé wá sọ́dọ̀ mi, ẹ má ṣe dá wọn lẹ́kun, nítorí irú wọn ni ìjọba ọ̀run.”
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
15 Lẹ́yìn náà, ó gbé ọwọ́ lé wọn, ó sì kúrò níbẹ̀.
And after He had placed His hands on them, He went on from there.
16 Ẹnìkan sì wá ó bí Jesu pé, “Olùkọ́, ohun rere kí ni èmi yóò ṣe, kí èmi kí ó lè ní ìyè àìnípẹ̀kun?” (aiōnios g166)
Just then a man came up to Jesus and inquired, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to obtain eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
17 Jesu dá a lóhùn pé, “Èéṣe tí ìwọ fi ń béèrè nípa ohun rere lọ́wọ́ mi. Ẹni kan ṣoṣo ni ó wà tí í ṣe ẹni rere. Bí ìwọ bá fẹ́ dé ibi ìyè, pa àwọn òfin mọ́.”
“Why do you ask Me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”
18 Ọkùnrin náà béèrè pé, “Àwọn wo ni òfin wọ̀nyí?” Jesu dáhùn pé, “‘Ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ pànìyàn; ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ ṣe panṣágà; ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ jalè; ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ jẹ́rìí èké’,
“Which ones?” the man asked. Jesus answered, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness,
19 bọ̀wọ̀ fún baba àti ìyá rẹ. ‘Kí o sì fẹ́ aládùúgbò rẹ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ara rẹ.’”
honor your father and mother, and love your neighbor as yourself.’”
20 Ọmọdékùnrin náà tún wí pé, “Gbogbo òfin wọ̀nyí ni èmi ti ń pamọ́, kí ni nǹkan mìíràn tí èmi ní láti ṣe?”
“All these I have kept,” said the young man. “What do I still lack?”
21 Jesu wí fún un pé, “Bí ìwọ bá fẹ́ di ẹni pípé, lọ ta ohun gbogbo tí ìwọ ní, kí o sì fi owó rẹ̀ tọrẹ fún àwọn aláìní. Ìwọ yóò ní ọrọ̀ ńlá ní ọ̀run. Lẹ́yìn náà, wá láti máa tọ̀ mi lẹ́yìn.”
Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”
22 Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin náà gbọ́ èyí, ó kúrò níbẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ìbànújẹ́, nítorí ó ní ọrọ̀ púpọ̀.
When the young man heard this, he went away in sorrow, because he had great wealth.
23 Nígbà náà, ní Jesu wí fún àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ pé, “Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín pé, ó ṣòro fún ọlọ́rọ̀ láti wọ ìjọba Ọ̀run.”
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24 Mo tún wí fún yín pé, “Ó rọrùn fún ìbákasẹ láti wọ ojú abẹ́rẹ́ jù fún ọlọ́rọ̀ láti wọ ìjọba Ọlọ́run.”
Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
25 Nígbà tí àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn gbọ́ èyí, ẹnu sì yà wọn gidigidi, wọ́n béèrè pé, “Ǹjẹ́ ta ni ó ha le là?”
When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Ṣùgbọ́n Jesu wò wọ́n, ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ènìyàn ni èyí ṣòro fún; ṣùgbọ́n fún Ọlọ́run ohun gbogbo ni ṣíṣe.”
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
27 Peteru sì wí fún un pé, “Àwa ti fi ohun gbogbo sílẹ̀, a sì tẹ̀lé ọ, kí ni yóò jẹ́ èrè wa?”
“Look,” Peter replied, “we have left everything to follow You. What then will there be for us?”
28 Jesu dáhùn pé, “Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín pé, ‘Nígbà ìsọdọ̀tun ohun gbogbo, nígbà tí Ọmọ Ènìyàn yóò jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ tí ó lógo, dájúdájú, ẹ̀yin ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn mi yóò sì jókòó lórí ìtẹ́ méjìlá láti ṣe ìdájọ́ ẹ̀yà Israẹli méjìlá.
Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, in the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 Àti pé ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá fi ilé tàbí arákùnrin tàbí arábìnrin tàbí baba tàbí ìyá tàbí àwọn ọmọ, tàbí ohun ìní rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ nítorí orúkọ mí, yóò gba ọgọọgọ́rùn-ún èrè rẹ̀ láyé, wọn ó sì tún jogún ìyè àìnípẹ̀kun. (aiōnios g166)
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for the sake of My name will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
30 Ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn tí ó síwájú nísinsin yìí ni yóò kẹ́yìn, àwọn tí ó kẹ́yìn ni yóò sì síwájú.’
But many who are first will be last, and the last will be first.
