< Matthew 10 >
1 Jesu sì pe àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ méjìlá sí ọ̀dọ̀; ó fún wọn ní àṣẹ láti lé ẹ̀mí àìmọ́ jáde àti láti ṣe ìwòsàn ààrùn àti àìsàn gbogbo.
Then Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority to cast out unclean spirits and to heal every disease and every sickness.
2 Orúkọ àwọn aposteli méjèèjìlá náà ni wọ̀nyí: ẹni àkọ́kọ́ ni Simoni ẹni ti a ń pè ni Peteru àti arákùnrin rẹ̀ Anderu; Jakọbu ọmọ Sebede àti arákùnrin rẹ̀ Johanu.
Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3 Filipi àti Bartolomeu; Tomasi àti Matiu agbowó òde; Jakọbu ọmọ Alfeu àti Taddeu;
Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, who was given the name Thaddaeus;
4 Simoni ọmọ ẹgbẹ́ Sealoti, Judasi Iskariotu, ẹni tí ó da Jesu.
Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
5 Àwọn méjèèjìlá wọ̀nyí ni Jesu ran, ó sì pàṣẹ fún wọn pé, “Ẹ má ṣe lọ sì ọ̀nà àwọn kèfèrí, ẹ má ṣe wọ̀ ìlú àwọn ará Samaria.
These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Do not go anywhere among the Gentiles, and do not enter any town of the Samaritans,
6 Ẹ kúkú tọ̀ àwọn àgùntàn ilé Israẹli tí ó nù lọ.
but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 Bí ẹ̀yin ti ń lọ, ẹ máa wàásù yìí wí pé, ‘Ìjọba ọ̀run kù sí dẹ̀dẹ̀.’
As you go, preach that the kingdom of heaven has drawn near.
8 Ẹ máa ṣe ìwòsàn fún àwọn aláìsàn, ẹ si jí àwọn òkú dìde, ẹ sọ àwọn adẹ́tẹ̀ di mímọ́, kí ẹ sì máa lé àwọn ẹ̀mí èṣù jáde. Ọ̀fẹ́ ni ẹ̀yin gbà á, ọ̀fẹ́ ni kí ẹ fi fún ni.
Heal the sick, cleanse lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
9 “Ẹ má ṣe mú wúrà tàbí fàdákà tàbí idẹ sínú àpò ìgbànú yín,
Take no gold, silver, or copper in your belts.
10 ẹ má ṣe mú àpò fún ìrìnàjò yín, kí ẹ má ṣe mú ẹ̀wù méjì, tàbí bàtà, tàbí ọ̀pá; oúnjẹ oníṣẹ́ yẹ fún un.
Take no knapsack for your journey, no extra tunic, sandals, or staffs, for the worker is worthy of his food.
11 Ìlúkílùú tàbí ìletòkíletò tí ẹ̀yin bá wọ̀, ẹ wá ẹni ti ó bá yẹ níbẹ̀ rí, níbẹ̀ ni kí ẹ sì gbé nínú ilé rẹ̀ títí tí ẹ̀yin yóò fi kúrò níbẹ̀.
Whenever you enter a town or village, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there until you leave that place.
12 Nígbà tí ẹ̀yin bá sì wọ ilé kan, ẹ kí i wọn.
As you enter the house, greet the people who live there.
13 Bí ilé náà bá sì yẹ, kí àlàáfíà yín kí ó bà sórí rẹ̀; ṣùgbọ́n bí kò bá yẹ, kí àlàáfíà yín kí ó padà sọ́dọ̀ yín.
If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 Bí ẹnikẹ́ni tí kò bá sì gbà yín, tàbí tí kò gba ọ̀rọ̀ yín, ẹ gbọn eruku ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ yín sílẹ̀ tí ẹ bá ń kúrò ní ilé tàbí ìlú náà.
If anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you go out from that house or town.
15 Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín, yóò sàn fún ìlú Sodomu àti Gomorra ní ọjọ́ ìdájọ́ ju àwọn ìlú náà lọ.
Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.
16 “Mò ń rán yín lọ gẹ́gẹ́ bí àgùntàn sáàrín ìkookò. Nítorí náà, kí ẹ ní ìṣọ́ra bí ejò, kí ẹ sì ṣe onírẹ̀lẹ̀ bí àdàbà.
“Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves, so be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves.
17 Ẹ ṣọ́ra lọ́dọ̀ àwọn ènìyàn nítorí wọn yóò fi yín le àwọn ìgbìmọ̀ ìgbèríko lọ́wọ́ wọn yóò sì nà yín nínú Sinagọgu.
But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and flog you in their synagogues.
18 Nítorí orúkọ mi, a ó mú yín lọ síwájú àwọn baálẹ̀ àti àwọn ọba, bí ẹlẹ́rìí sí wọn àti àwọn aláìkọlà.
For my sake you will even be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.
19 Nígbà tí wọ́n bá mú yín, ẹ má ṣe ṣàníyàn ohun tí ẹ ó sọ tàbí bí ẹ ó ṣe sọ ọ́. Ní ojú kan náà ni a ó fi ohun tí ẹ̀yin yóò sọ fún yín.
When they hand you over, do not be anxious about how to speak or what to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour.
20 Nítorí pé kì í ṣe ẹ̀yin ni ó sọ ọ́, bí kò ṣe Ẹ̀mí Baba yín tí ń sọ̀rọ̀ nípasẹ̀ yín.
For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
21 “Arákùnrin yóò sì fi arákùnrin fún pípa. Baba yóò fi àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ fún ikú pa. Àwọn ọmọ yóò ṣọ̀tẹ̀ sí òbí wọn, wọn yóò sì mú kí a pa wọ́n.
Brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child, and children will rise up against their parents and have them put to death.
22 Gbogbo ènìyàn yóò sì kórìíra yín nítorí mi, ṣùgbọ́n gbogbo ẹni tí ó bá dúró ṣinṣin dé òpin ni a ó gbàlà.
You will be hated by all because of my name, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
23 Nígbà tí wọn bá ṣe inúnibíni sì i yín ní ìlú kan, ẹ sálọ sì ìlú kejì. Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín, ẹ̀yin kò tì í le la gbogbo ìlú Israẹli já tán kí Ọmọ Ènìyàn tó dé.
When they persecute you in one town, flee to another, for truly I say to you, you will certainly not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
24 “Akẹ́kọ̀ọ́ kì í ju olùkọ́ rẹ̀ lọ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ kì í ju ọ̀gá rẹ̀ lọ.
“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor is a servant above his master.
25 Ó tọ́ fún akẹ́kọ̀ọ́ láti dàbí olùkọ́ rẹ̀ àti fún ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ láti rí bí ọ̀gá rẹ̀. Nígbà tí wọ́n bá pe baálé ilé ní Beelsebulu, mélòó mélòó ni ti àwọn ènìyàn ilé rẹ̀!
It is sufficient for a disciple to be like his teacher and for a servant to be like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household!
26 “Nítorí náà, ẹ má ṣe bẹ̀rù wọn, nítorí kò sí ohun tó ń bọ̀ tí kò ní í fi ara hàn, tàbí ohun tó wà ní ìkọ̀kọ̀ tí a kò ní mọ̀ ni gbangba.
“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known.
27 Ohun tí mo bá wí fún yín ní òkùnkùn, òun ni kí ẹ sọ ní ìmọ́lẹ̀. Èyí tí mo sọ kẹ́lẹ́kẹ́lẹ́ sì etí yín ni kí ẹ kéde rẹ́ lórí òrùlé.
What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim on the housetops.
28 Ẹ má ṣe bẹ̀rù àwọn tí ó le pa ara nìkan; ṣùgbọ́n tí wọn kò lè pa ẹ̀mí. Ẹ bẹ̀rù Ẹni tí ó le pa ẹ̀mí àti ara run ní ọ̀run àpáàdì. (Geenna )
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul, but rather fear him who can destroy both the soul and the body in hell. (Geenna )
29 Ológoṣẹ́ méjì kọ́ ni à ń tà ní owó idẹ wẹ́wẹ́ kan? Síbẹ̀ kò sí ọ̀kan nínú wọn tí yóò ṣubú lu ilẹ̀ lẹ́yìn Baba yin.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's consent.
30 Àti pé gbogbo irun orí yín ni a ti kà pé.
And even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Nítorí náà, ẹ má ṣe fòyà; ẹ̀yin ní iye lórí ju ọ̀pọ̀ ológoṣẹ́ lọ.
So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
32 “Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá jẹ́wọ́ mi níwájú ènìyàn, òun náà ni èmi yóò jẹ́wọ́ rẹ̀ níwájú Baba mi ní ọ̀run.
“Therefore everyone who acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.
33 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí ó bá sẹ́ mí níwájú àwọn ènìyàn, òun náà ni èmi náà yóò sọ wí pé n kò mọ̀ níwájú Baba mi ní ọ̀run.
But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.
34 “Ẹ má ṣe rò pé mo mú àlàáfíà wá sí ayé, Èmi kò mú àlàáfíà wá bí kò ṣe idà.
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35 Nítorí èmi wá láti ya “‘ọmọkùnrin ní ipa sí baba rẹ̀, ọmọbìnrin ní ipa sí ìyá rẹ̀, àti aya ọmọ sí ìyakọ rẹ.
For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
36 Ará ilé ènìyàn ni yóò sì máa ṣe ọ̀tá rẹ̀.’
And a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.
37 “Ẹni tí ó bá fẹ́ baba rẹ̀ tàbí ìyá rẹ̀ jù mí lọ, kò yẹ ní tèmi, ẹni tí ó ba fẹ́ ọmọkùnrin tàbí ọmọbìnrin rẹ̀ jù mí lọ, kò yẹ ní tèmi.
Whoever loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; whoever loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 Ẹni tí kò bá gbé àgbélébùú rẹ̀ kí ó tẹ̀lé mi kò yẹ ní tèmi.
And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
39 Ẹni tí ó bá wa ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ yóò sọ ọ́ nù, ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí ó bá sọ ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ nú nítorí tèmi ni yóò rí i.
Whoever finds his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
40 “Ẹni tí ó bá gbà yín, ó gbà mí, ẹni tí ó bá sì gbà mí gba ẹni tí ó rán mi.
“Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.
41 Ẹni tí ó ba gba wòlíì, nítorí pé ó jẹ́ wòlíì yóò jẹ èrè wòlíì, ẹni tí ó bá sì gba olódodo nítorí ti ó jẹ́ ènìyàn olódodo, yóò jẹ èrè olódodo.
Whoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward; whoever receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward.
42 Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá fi ago omi tútù fún ọ̀kan nínú àwọn onírẹ̀lẹ̀ wọ̀nyí mu nítorí tí ó jẹ́ ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn mi, lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín, kò ní pàdánù èrè rẹ̀.”
And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he will certainly not lose his reward.”
