< Luke 6 >

1 Ní ọjọ́ ìsinmi kejì, Jesu ń kọjá láàrín oko ọkà; àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ sì ń ya ìpẹ́ ọkà, wọ́n sì ń jẹ ẹ́.
Now it happened on the second chief Sabbath that he was going through the grain fields. His disciples plucked the heads of grain, and ate, rubbing them in their hands.
2 Àwọn kan nínú àwọn Farisi sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ki lo de tí ẹ̀yin fi ń ṣe èyí tí kò yẹ láti ṣe ní ọjọ́ ìsinmi?”
But some of the Pharisees said to them, "Why do you do that which is not lawful on the Sabbath day?"
3 Jesu sì dá wọn lóhùn pé, “Ẹ̀yin kò kà nípa ohun tí Dafidi ṣe, nígbà tí ebi ń pa òun tìkára rẹ̀ àti àwọn tí ó wà lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀;
Jesus, answering them, said, "Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he, and those who were with him;
4 bi ó ti wọ ilé Ọlọ́run lọ, tí ó sì mú àkàrà ìfihàn tí ó sì jẹ ẹ́, tí ó sì fi fún àwọn tí ń bẹ lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú; tí kò yẹ fún un láti jẹ, bí kò ṣe fún àwọn àlùfáà nìkan ṣoṣo?”
how he entered into the house of God, and took and ate the show bread, and gave also to those who were with him, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests alone?"
5 Ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ọmọ Ènìyàn ni Olúwa Ọjọ́ Ìsinmi.”
He said to them, "The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath."
6 Ní ọjọ́ ìsinmi mìíràn, ó wọ inú Sinagọgu lọ, ó sì ń kọ́ni, ọkùnrin kan sì ń bẹ níbẹ̀ tí ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ̀ rọ.
It also happened on another Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught. There was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
7 Àwọn akọ̀wé àti àwọn Farisi ń ṣọ́ ọ, bóyá yóò mú un láradá ní ọjọ́ ìsinmi; kí wọn lè rí ọ̀nà láti fi ẹ̀sùn kàn án.
The scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against him.
8 Ṣùgbọ́n ó mọ èrò inú wọn, ó sì wí fún ọkùnrin náà tí ọwọ́ rẹ̀ rọ pé, “Dìde, kí o sì dúró láàrín.” Ó sì dìde dúró.
But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man who had the withered hand, "Rise up, and stand in the middle." He arose and stood.
9 Nígbà náà ni Jesu wí fún wọn pé, “Èmi bi yín léèrè, Ó ha tọ́ láti máa ṣe rere ni ọjọ́ ìsinmi, tàbí láti máa ṣe búburú? Láti gba ọkàn là, tàbí láti pa á run?”
Then Jesus said to them, "I ask you, is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to destroy it?"
10 Nígbà tí ó sì wo gbogbo wọn yíká, ó wí fún ọkùnrin náà pé, “Na ọwọ́ rẹ.” Ó sì ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀: ọwọ́ rẹ̀ sì padà bọ̀ sípò gẹ́gẹ́ bí èkejì.
He looked around at them all, and said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." He did, and his hand was restored.
11 Wọ́n sì kún fún ìbínú gbígbóná; wọ́n sì bá ara wọn rò ohun tí àwọn ìbá ṣe sí Jesu.
But they were filled with rage, and talked with one another about what they might do to Jesus.
12 Ni ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọjọ́ wọ̀n-ọn-nì, Jesu lọ sí orí òkè láti gbàdúrà, ó sì fi gbogbo òru náà gbàdúrà sí Ọlọ́run.
It happened in these days, that he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.
13 Nígbà tí ilẹ̀ sì mọ́, ó pe àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀; nínú wọn ni ó sì yan méjìlá, tí ó sì sọ ní aposteli:
When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:
14 Simoni (ẹni tí a pè ní Peteru) àti Anderu arákùnrin rẹ̀, Jakọbu, Johanu, Filipi, Bartolomeu,
Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; and James and John; and Philip and Bartholomew;
15 Matiu, Tomasi, Jakọbu ọmọ Alfeu, Simoni tí a ń pè ní Sealoti,
and Matthew and Thomas; and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon, who was called the Zealot;
16 Judea arákùnrin Jakọbu, àti Judasi Iskariotu tí ó di ọ̀dàlẹ̀.
and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
17 Ó sì bá wọn sọ̀kalẹ̀, ó sì dúró ní pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀, pẹ̀lú ọ̀pọ̀ àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀, àti ọ̀pọ̀ ìjọ ènìyàn, láti gbogbo Judea, àti Jerusalẹmu, àti agbègbè Tire àti Sidoni, tí wọ́n wá láti gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀, àti láti gba ìmúláradá kúrò nínú ààrùn wọn;
He came down with them, and stood on a level place, with a large crowd of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon,
18 àti àwọn tí ara wọn kún fún ẹ̀mí àìmọ́ ni ó sì mú láradá.
who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured.
19 Gbogbo ìjọ ènìyàn sì ń fẹ́ láti fọwọ́ kàn án, nítorí tí àṣẹ ń jáde lára rẹ̀, ó sì mú gbogbo wọn láradá.
All the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all.
20 Nígbà tí ó sì gbé ojú rẹ̀ sókè sí àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀, ó ní: “Alábùkún fún ni ẹ̀yin òtòṣì, nítorí tiyín ni ìjọba Ọlọ́run.
He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said, "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God.
21 Alábùkún fún ni ẹ̀yin tí ebi ń pa nísinsin yìí; nítorí tí ẹ ó yóò. Alábùkún fún ni ẹ̀yin tí ń sọkún nísinsin yìí: nítorí tí ẹ̀yin ó rẹ́rìn-ín.
Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
22 Alábùkún fún ni ẹ̀yin, nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn bá kórìíra yín, tí wọ́n bá yà yín kúrò nínú ẹgbẹ́ wọn, tí wọ́n bá gàn yín, tí wọ́n bá ta orúkọ yín nù bí ohun búburú, nítorí Ọmọ Ènìyàn.
Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man's sake.
Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for look, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.
24 “Ègbé ni fún ẹ̀yin ọlọ́rọ̀ nítorí ẹ ti gba ìtùnú yín.
"But woe to you who are rich. For you have received your consolation.
25 Ègbé ni fún ẹ̀yin tí ó yó, nítorí ebi yóò pa yín, Ègbé ni fún ẹ̀yin tí ń rẹ́rìn-ín nísinsin yìí, nítorí tí ẹ̀yin ó ṣọ̀fọ̀, ẹ̀yin ó sì sọkún.
Woe to you, you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
26 Ègbé ni fún yín, nígbà tí gbogbo ènìyàn bá ń sọ̀rọ̀ yín ní rere, nítorí bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ ni àwọn baba wọn ṣe sí àwọn wòlíì èké.
Woe when all people speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.
27 “Ṣùgbọ́n mo wí fún ẹ̀yin tí ń gbọ́ mi, ẹ fẹ́ àwọn ọ̀tá yín, ṣoore fún àwọn tí ó kórìíra yín.
"But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 Súre fún àwọn tí ń fi yín ré, sì gbàdúrà fún àwọn tí ń kẹ́gàn yín.
bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
29 Ẹni tí ó bá sì lù ọ́ ní ẹ̀rẹ̀kẹ́ kan, yí kejì sí i pẹ̀lú; àti ẹni tí ó gba agbádá rẹ, má ṣe dá a dúró láti gba ẹ̀wù àwọ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ rẹ pẹ̀lú.
To the person who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from the person who takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt either.
30 Sì fi fún gbogbo ẹni tí ó tọrọ lọ́dọ̀ rẹ; lọ́dọ̀ ẹni tí ó sì kó ọ ní ẹrù, má sì ṣe padà béèrè.
Give to everyone who asks you, and do not ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.
31 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀yin sì ti fẹ́ kí ènìyàn ṣe sí yín, kí ẹ̀yin sì ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ sí wọn pẹ̀lú.
And as you would like people to do to you, you also do the same to them.
32 “Ǹjẹ́ bí ẹ̀yin bá fẹ́ àwọn tí ó fẹ́ yín, ọpẹ́ kí ni ẹ̀yin ní? Àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ń fẹ́ àwọn tí ó fẹ́ wọn.
If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
33 Bí ẹ̀yin sì ṣoore fún àwọn tí ó ṣoore fún yín, ọpẹ́ kín ni ẹ̀yin ní? Àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ń ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́.
If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
34 Bí ẹ̀yin bá fi fún ẹni tí ẹ̀yin ń retí láti rí gbà padà, ọpẹ́ kín ni ẹ̀yin ní? Àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ń yá ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀, kí wọn lè gba ìwọ̀n bẹ́ẹ̀ padà.
If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much.
35 Ṣùgbọ́n kí ẹ̀yin fẹ́ àwọn ọ̀tá yín kí ẹ sì ṣoore, kí ẹ̀yin sì yá ẹlòmíràn, kí ẹ̀yin má ṣe retí láti rí nǹkan gbà padà; èrè yín yóò sì pọ̀, àwọn ọmọ Ọ̀gá-ògo ni a ó sì máa pè yín: nítorí tí ó ṣe rere fún aláìmoore àti fún ẹni búburú.
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
36 Ǹjẹ́ kí ẹ̀yin ní àánú, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Baba yín sì ti ní àánú.
Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful.
37 “Ẹ má ṣe dá ni lẹ́jọ́, a kì yóò sì dá yín lẹ́jọ́: ẹ má ṣe dá ni lẹ́bi, a kì yóò sì dá yín lẹ́bi: ẹ dáríjì, a ó sì dáríjì yín.
Do not judge, and you won't be judged. Do not condemn, and you won't be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
38 Ẹ fi fún ni, a ó sì fi fún yín; òsùwọ̀n dáradára, àkìmọ́lẹ̀, àti àmìpọ̀, àkúnwọ́sílẹ̀, ni a ó wọ́n si àyà yín: nítorí òsùwọ̀n náà tí ẹ̀yin fi wọ́n, òun ni a ó padà fi wọ́n fún yín.”
"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you."
39 Ó sì pa òwe kan fún wọn wí pé, “Afọ́jú ha lè ṣe amọ̀nà afọ́jú bí? Àwọn méjèèjì kọ́ ni yóò ṣubú sínú ihò bí?
He spoke a parable to them. "Can the blind guide the blind? Won't they both fall into a pit?
40 Ẹni tí a ń kọ́ kì í ju olùkọ́ rẹ̀ lọ: ṣùgbọ́n olúkúlùkù ẹni tí a bá kọ dáradára, yóò dàbí olùkọ́ rẹ̀.
A disciple is not above the teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.
41 “Èétiṣe tí ìwọ fi ń wo ẹ̀rún igi tí ń bẹ ní ojú arákùnrin rẹ, ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ kò kíyèsi ìtì igi tí ń bẹ ní ojú ara rẹ?
And why do you see the speck of chaff that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
42 Tàbí ìwọ ó ti ṣe lè wí fún arákùnrin rẹ pé, ‘Arákùnrin, jẹ́ kí èmi yọ ẹ̀rún igi tí ń bẹ lójú rẹ,’ nígbà tí ìwọ tìkára rẹ kò kíyèsi ìtì igi tí ń bẹ lójú rẹ? Ìwọ àgàbàgebè, kọ́kọ́ yọ ìtí igi jáde kúrò lójú ara rẹ ná, nígbà náà ni ìwọ ó sì tó ríran gbangba láti yọ èérún igi tí ń bẹ lójú arákùnrin rẹ kúrò.
Or how can you tell your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck of chaff that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite. First remove the log from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck of chaff that is in your brother's eye.
43 “Nítorí igi rere kì í so èso búburú; bẹ́ẹ̀ ni igi búburú kì í so èso rere.
For there is no good tree that brings forth rotten fruit; nor again a rotten tree that brings forth good fruit.
44 Olúkúlùkù igi ni a ń fi èso rẹ̀ mọ̀ ọn; nítorí lórí ẹ̀gún òṣùṣú, ènìyàn kì í ká èso ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni lórí ẹ̀gún ọ̀gàn a kì í ká èso àjàrà.
For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.
45 Ènìyàn rere láti inú yàrá ìṣúra rere ọkàn rẹ̀ ní mú ohun rere jáde wá; àti ènìyàn búburú láti inú ìṣúra búburú ọkàn rẹ̀ ní í mú ohun búburú jáde wá: nítorí láti inú ẹ̀kúnrẹ́rẹ́ ọkàn ní ẹnu ti máa sọ jáde.
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
46 “Nítorí náà, èéṣe tí ẹ̀yin ń pè mí ní, ‘Olúwa, Olúwa,’ tí ẹ̀yin kò sì ṣe ohun tí mo wí?
"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?
47 Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó tọ̀ mí wá, tí ó sì ń gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ mi, tí ó sì ń ṣe é, èmi yóò fi ẹni tí ó jọ hàn yín.
Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I will show you who he is like.
48 Ó jọ ọkùnrin kan, tí ó kọ́ ilé, tí ó sì wa ilẹ̀ jìn, tí ó sì fi ìpìlẹ̀ sọlẹ̀ lórí àpáta, nígbà tí kíkún omi sì dé, ìgbì omi kọlu ilé náà, kò sì lè mì ín nítorí tí a fi ìpìlẹ̀ rẹ̀ sọlẹ̀ lórí àpáta.
He is like someone building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it had been well built.
49 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí ó gbọ́, tí kò sì ṣe é, ó dàbí ọkùnrin tí ó kọ́ ilé sí orí ilẹ̀ láìní ìpìlẹ̀; nígbà tí ìgbì omi kọlù ú, lọ́gán, ó sì wó; wíwó ilé náà sì pọ̀ púpọ̀.”
But he who hears, and does not do, is like someone who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great."
