And it came to pass, when the angels had departed from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even to Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known to us.
16 Wọ́n sì wá lọ́gán, wọ́n sì rí Maria àti Josẹfu, àti ọmọ ọwọ́ náà, ó dùbúlẹ̀ nínú ibùjẹ ẹran.

And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name [was] Simeon; and the same man [was] just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 A sì ti fihàn án láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ náà wá pé, òun kì yóò rí ikú, kí ó tó rí Kristi Olúwa.

A light to enlighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

(And a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
36 Ẹnìkan sì ń bẹ, Anna wòlíì, ọmọbìnrin Penueli, nínú ẹ̀yà Aṣeri: ọjọ́ ogbó rẹ̀ pọ̀, ó ti bá ọkọ gbé ní ọdún méje láti ìgbà wúńdíá rẹ̀ wá;
And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher: she was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity;
37 Ó sì ṣe opó títí ó fi di ẹni ọdún mẹ́rìnlélọ́gọ́rin, ẹni tí kò kúrò ní tẹmpili, ṣùgbọ́n ó ń fi àwẹ̀ àti àdúrà sin Ọlọ́run lọ́sàn án àti lóru.
And she [was] a widow of about eighty four years, who departed not from the temple, but served [God] with fastings and prayers night and day.

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
47 Ẹnu sì ya gbogbo àwọn tí ó gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ fún òye àti ìdáhùn rẹ̀.
And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said to him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
49 Ó sì dáhùn wí fún wọn pé, “Èéṣe tí ẹ̀yin fi ń wá mi kiri? Ẹ̀yin kò mọ̀ pé èmi kò lè ṣàìmá wà níbi iṣẹ́ Baba mi?”
And he said to them, How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
50 Ọ̀rọ̀ tí o sọ kò sì yé wọn.
And they understood not the saying which he spoke to them.
51 Ó sì bá wọn sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí Nasareti, sì fi ara balẹ̀ fún wọn, ṣùgbọ́n ìyá rẹ̀ pa gbogbo nǹkan wọ̀nyí mọ́ nínú ọkàn rẹ̀.
And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
52 Jesu sì ń pọ̀ ní ọgbọ́n, sì ń dàgbà, ó sì wà ní ojúrere ní ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run àti ènìyàn.
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
