< Luke 16 >
1 Ó sì wí fún àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ pẹ̀lú pé, “Ọkùnrin ọlọ́rọ̀ kan wà, tí ó ní ìríjú kan; òun náà ni wọ́n fi sùn ún pé, ó ti ń fi ohun ìní rẹ̀ ṣòfò.
He was saying now also to the disciples (of him: *k*) A man certain there was rich who had a manager, and he was accused unto him as wasting the possessions of him.
2 Nígbà tí ó sì pè é, ó wí fún un pé, ‘Èéṣe tí èmi fi ń gbọ́ èyí sí ọ? Ṣírò iṣẹ́ ìríjú rẹ; nítorí ìwọ kò lè ṣe ìríjú mi mọ́.’
And having called him he said to him; What [is] this I hear concerning you? do give the account of the stewardship of you; not for (you are able *N(k)O*) any longer to manage.
3 “Ìríjú náà sì wí nínú ara rẹ̀ pé, ‘Èwo ni èmi ó ṣe? Nítorí tí olúwa mi gba iṣẹ́ ìríjú lọ́wọ́ mi: èmi kò le ṣiṣẹ́ oko, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ojú ń tì mí láti ṣagbe.
Said then within himself the manager; What shall I do, for the master of me is taking away the management from me? To dig not I am able, to beg I am ashamed.
4 Mo mọ èyí tí èmi yóò ṣe, nígbà tí a bá mú mi kúrò níbi iṣẹ́ ìríjú, kí àwọn ènìyàn le gbà mí sínú ilé wọn.’
I know what I may do so that when I may have been removed (from *no*) the management they may receive me into the homes (of them. *NK(o)*)
5 “Ó sì pe àwọn ajigbèsè olúwa rẹ̀ sọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀, ó sì wí fún èkínní pé, ‘Èló ni ìwọ jẹ olúwa mi?’
And having called to [him] one each of the debtors of the master his own he was saying to the first; How much owe you to the master of me?
6 “Ó sì wí pé, ‘Ẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀rún òsùwọ̀n òróró.’ “Ó sì wí fún un pé, ‘Mú ìwé rẹ, sì jókòó nísinsin yìí, kí o sì kọ àádọ́ta lé ní irinwó.’
(then *NK(o)*) he said; A hundred baths of oil. (then *N(k)O*) he said to him; do take your (the bills *N(k)O*) and having sat down soon do write fifty.
7 “Nígbà náà ni ó sì bi ẹnìkejì pé, ‘Èló ni ìwọ jẹ?’ “Òun sì wí pé, ‘Ẹgbẹ̀rún òsùwọ̀n alikama.’ “Ó sì wí fún un pé, ‘Mú ìwé rẹ, kí o sì kọ ẹgbẹ̀rin.’
Then to another he said; You yourself now how much owe? And he said; A hundred cors of wheat. (and *k*) He says to him; do take your (bills *N(k)O*) and do write eighty.
8 “Olúwa rẹ̀ sì yin aláìṣòótọ́ ìríjú náà, nítorí tí ó fi ọgbọ́n ṣe é, àwọn ọmọ ayé yìí sá à gbọ́n ní ìran wọn ju àwọn ọmọ ìmọ́lẹ̀ lọ. (aiōn )
And praised the master the manager unrighteous because shrewdly he had acted, For the sons of the age this more shrewd than the sons of the light in the generation their own are. (aiōn )
9 Èmi sì wí fún yín, ẹ fi ọrọ̀ ayé yìí yan ọ̀rẹ́ fún ara yín pé, nígbà tí o ba lọ, kí wọn kí ó le gbà yín sí ibùjókòó wọn títí ayé. (aiōnios )
and I myself to you say; for yourselves do make friends by the wealth of unrighteousness, that when (it may fail *N(K)O*) they may receive you into the eternal dwellings. (aiōnios )
10 “Ẹni tí ó bá ṣe olóòtítọ́ nínú ohun kínkínní, ó ṣe olóòtítọ́ ní púpọ̀ pẹ̀lú: ẹni tí ó bá sì ṣe aláìṣòótọ́ ní ohun kínkínní, ó ṣe aláìṣòótọ́ ní ohun púpọ̀ pẹ̀lú.
The [one] faithful with very little also with much faithful is, and the [one] with very little unrighteous also with much unrighteous is.
11 Ǹjẹ́ bí ẹ̀yin kò bá ti jẹ́ olóòtítọ́ nínú ọrọ̀ ayé yìí, ta ni yóò fi ọ̀rọ̀ tòótọ́ fún yín?
If therefore in the unrighteous wealth faithful not you have been, the true [riches] who to you will entrust?
12 Bí ẹ̀yin kò bá sì ti jẹ́ olóòtítọ́ nínú ohun tí í ṣe ti ẹlòmíràn, ta ni yóò fún yín ní ohun tí í ṣe ti ẹ̀yin tìkára yín?
And if in that which [is] of another faithful not you have been, that which ([is] yours *NK(O)*) who to you will give
13 “Kò sì í ẹnìkan tí ó lè sin ọ̀gá méjì. Òun yóò yà kórìíra ọ̀kan tí yóò fẹ́ràn èkejì, tàbí kí ó fi ara mọ́ ọ̀kan kí ó sì yan èkejì ní ìpọ̀sí. Ẹ̀yin kò lè sin Ọlọ́run àti owó papọ̀.”
No servant is able to two masters to serve; either for the one he will hate and the other he will love, or to one he will be devoted and the other he will despise. Not you are able God to serve and money.
14 Àwọn Farisi, tí wọ́n ní ojúkòkòrò sì gbọ́ gbogbo nǹkan wọ̀nyí, wọ́n sì yọ ṣùtì sí i.
Were listening to now these things all (and *k*) the Pharisees lovers of money being and they were ridiculing Him.
15 Ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ẹ̀yin ni àwọn tí ń dá àre fún ara yín níwájú ènìyàn; ṣùgbọ́n Ọlọ́run mọ ọkàn yín, nítorí ohun ti a gbéga lójú ènìyàn, ìríra ni níwájú Ọlọ́run.
And He said to them; You yourselves are those justifying themselves before men, but God knows the hearts of you for that which among men [is] exalted an abomination before God (is. *k*)
16 “Òfin àti àwọn wòlíì ń bẹ títí di ìgbà Johanu, Láti ìgbà náà wá ni a ti ń wàásù ìròyìn ayọ̀ ìjọba Ọlọ́run, olúkúlùkù sì ń fi ipá wọ inú rẹ̀.
The law and the prophets [were] (until *N(k)O*) John; from that time the kingdom of God is evangelised [about], and everyone into it forces his way.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n ó rọrùn fún ọ̀run òun ayé láti kọjá lọ, ju kí èyí tí ó kéré jù nínú òfin kí ó yẹ.
Easier for however it is the heaven and the earth to pass away than of the law one stroke of a pen to fail.
18 “Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá kọ aya rẹ̀ sílẹ̀, tí ó sì gbé ẹlòmíràn ní ìyàwó, ó ṣe panṣágà: ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá sì gbé, ẹni tí ọkọ rẹ̀ kọ̀sílẹ̀ ní ìyàwó náà, ó ṣe panṣágà.
Everyone who is putting away the wife of him and marrying another commits adultery, And (everyone *k*) who separated her from a husband marrying commits adultery.
19 “Ǹjẹ́ ọkùnrin ọlọ́rọ̀ kan wà, tí ó ń wọ aṣọ elése àlùkò àti aṣọ àlà dáradára, a sì máa jẹ dídùndídùn lójoojúmọ́.
A man now certain there was rich and he was clothed in purple and fine linen making good cheer every day in splendor.
20 Alágbe kan sì wà tí à ń pè ní Lasaru, tí wọ́n máa ń gbé wá kalẹ̀ lẹ́bàá ọ̀nà ilé rẹ̀, ó kún fún ooju,
A poor man now certain (was *k*) named Lazarus (who *k*) had been laid at the gate of him full of sores
21 Òun a sì máa fẹ́ kí a fi èérún tí ó ti orí tábìlì ọlọ́rọ̀ bọ́ sílẹ̀ bọ́ òun, àwọn ajá sì wá, wọ́n sì fá a ní ooju lá.
and desiring to be fed from (crumbs *KO*) that falling from the table of the rich man; but even the dogs coming were licking the sores of him.
22 “Ó sì ṣe, alágbe kú, a sì ti ọwọ́ àwọn angẹli gbé e lọ sí oókan àyà Abrahamu: ọlọ́rọ̀ náà sì kú pẹ̀lú, a sì sin ín;
It came to pass that then to die the poor man and to be carried away he by the angels into the bosom (*k*) of Abraham; Died then also the rich man and was buried.
23 Ní ipò òkú ni ó gbé ojú rẹ̀ sókè, ó ń bẹ nínú ìjìyà oró, ó sì rí Abrahamu ní òkèrè, àti Lasaru ní oókan àyà rẹ̀. (Hadēs )
And in Hades having lifted up the eyes of him, being in torment he sees (*k*) Abraham from afar and Lazarus in the bosom of him. (Hadēs )
24 Ó sì ké, ó wí pé, ‘Baba Abrahamu, ṣàánú fún mi, kí o sì rán Lasaru, kí ó tẹ orí ìka rẹ̀ bọ omi, kí ó sì fi tù mí ní ahọ́n; nítorí èmi ń joró nínú ọ̀wọ́n iná yìí.’
And he himself having cried out said; Father Abraham, do have mercy on me and do send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of the finger of him in water and may cool the tongue of mine, for I am suffering in flame this.
25 “Ṣùgbọ́n Abrahamu wí pé, ‘Ọmọ, rántí pé, nígbà ayé rẹ, ìwọ ti gba ohun rere tìrẹ, àti Lasaru ohun búburú, ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí ara rọ̀ ọ́, ìwọ sì ń joró.
Said then Abraham; Child, do remember that you did fully receive (you yourself *k*) the [things] good of you in the lifetime of you, and Lazarus likewise the [things] harmful. Now however (here *N(k)O*) he is comforted, you yourself now are suffering.
26 Àti pẹ̀lú gbogbo èyí, a gbé ọ̀gbun ńlá kan sí agbede-méjì àwa àti ẹ̀yin, kí àwọn tí ń fẹ́ má ba á le rékọjá láti ìhín lọ sọ́dọ̀ yín, kí ẹnikẹ́ni má sì le ti ọ̀hún rékọjá tọ̀ wá wá.’
And (besides *N(k)O*) all these things between us and you a chasm great has been fixed so that those desiring to pass (from here *N(k)O*) to you not may be able nor (those *k*) from there to us they shall pass.
27 “Ó sì wí pé, ‘Ǹjẹ́ mo bẹ̀ ọ́, baba, kí ìwọ kí ó rán Lasaru lọ sí ilé baba mi,
He said then; I implore you then father, that you may send him to the house of the father of mine —
28 nítorí mo ní arákùnrin márùn-ún; kí ó lè rò fún wọn kí àwọn kí ó má ba á wá sí ibi oró yìí pẹ̀lú.’
I have for five brothers — so that he may warn to them that not also they themselves may come to place this of torment.
29 “Abrahamu sì wí fún un pé, ‘Wọ́n ní Mose àti àwọn wòlíì; kí wọn kí ó gbọ́ tiwọn.’
Says (however *no*) (to him *ko*) Abraham; They have Moses and the prophets; they should listen to them.
30 “Ó sì wí pé, ‘Bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́, Abrahamu baba; ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹnìkan bá ti inú òkú tọ̀ wọ́n lọ, wọn ó ronúpìwàdà.’
And he said; No, father Abraham, but if one from [the] dead shall go to them, they will repent.
31 “Ó sì wí fún un pé, ‘Bí wọn kò bá gbọ́ ti Mose àti ti àwọn wòlíì, a kì yóò yí wọn ní ọkàn padà bí ẹnìkan tilẹ̀ ti inú òkú dìde.’”
He said however to him; If to Moses and the prophets not they listen, (not even *N(k)O*) if one out from [the] dead shall rise will they be persuaded.
