< Judges 17 >

1 Nígbà náà ni ọkùnrin kan tí orúkọ rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Mika láti agbègbè òkè Efraimu
And there was a man of the hill country of Ephraim, whose, name, was Micah.
2 sọ fún ìyá rẹ̀ pé, “Ẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀fà ṣékélì fàdákà èyí tí wọ́n jí mọ́ ọ lọ́wọ́, àti nípa èyí tí mo gbọ́ tí ìwọ ń ṣẹ́ èpè. Kíyèsi fàdákà náà wà ní ọ̀dọ̀ mi, èmi ni mo kó o.” Nígbà náà ni ìyá rẹ̀ dáhùn pé, “Kí Olúwa bùkún ọ ọmọ mi!”
And he said unto his mother—The eleven hundred pieces of silver that were taken by thee, when, thou, didst utter a curse, and didst also say in my hearing, Lo! the silver, is with me! I took it. Then said his mother, Blessed, be my son by Yahweh.
3 Nígbà tí ó da ẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀fà ṣékélì fàdákà náà padà fún ìyá rẹ̀, ìyá rẹ̀ dáhùn pé, “Èmi ti fi òtítọ́ inú ya sílífà náà sọ́tọ̀ sí Olúwa fún ọmọ mi láti fi dá ère dídá àti ère gbígbẹ́. Èmi yóò dá a padà fún ọ.”
And, when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said—I had, hallowed, the silver unto Yahweh out of mine own hand, for my son, to make a graved (molten) image, now, therefore, I will restore it unto thee.
4 Nítorí náà òun dá sílífà náà padà fún ìyá rẹ̀, ìyá rẹ̀ sì mú igba ṣékélì fàdákà, ó sì fún alágbẹ̀dẹ fàdákà ẹni tí ó fi wọ́n rọ ère fínfín àti ère dídà. Wọ́n sì kó wọn sí ilé Mika.
But he restored the silver to his mother, —so his mother took two hundred pieces of silver, and gave it to the silversmith, who made thereof a graved (molten) image, and it was in the house of Micah.
5 Ọkùnrin náà, Mika sì ní ojúbọ kan. Òun sì ra ẹ̀wù efodu kan, ó sì ṣe àwọn ère kan, ó sì fi ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ ọkùnrin ṣe àlùfáà rẹ̀.
Now, the man Micah, had a house of gods, —and he made an ephod, and teraphim, and installed one of his sons, who became his priest.
6 Ní ọjọ́ wọ̀n-ọn-nì àwọn ọmọ Israẹli kò ní ọba; olúkúlùkù ṣe bí ó ti rò pé ó tọ́ ní ojú ara rẹ́.
In those days, there was no king in Israel, —every man did, that which was right in his own eyes.
7 Ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin kan sì ti Bẹtilẹhẹmu ti Juda wá, tí í ṣe ìdílé Juda, ẹni tí í ṣe ẹ̀yà Lefi, òun sì ṣe àtìpó níbẹ̀,
And there was a young man out of Bethlehem-judah, of the family of Judah, —he, being a Levite, and, he, being a sojourner there.
8 ọkùnrin náà sì ti ìlú Bẹtilẹhẹmu ti Juda lọ, láti ṣe àtìpó ní ibikíbi tí ó bá rí. Ní ojú ọ̀nà àjò rẹ̀, ó dé ilẹ̀ Mika nínú àwọn ilẹ̀ òkè Efraimu.
So the man took his journey out of the city, out of Bethlehem-judah, to sojourn, wheresoever he could find [a home], —and he came into the hill country of Ephraim, as far as the house of Micah, in pursuing his journey.
9 Mika bi í pé, “Níbo ni ó ti ń bọ̀?” Ó dáhùn pé, “Ọmọ Lefi ni mí láti Bẹtilẹhẹmu Juda, mo sì ń wá ibi tí èmi yóò máa gbé.”
And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him—A Levite, am I, from Bethlehem-judah, and, I, am taking my journey to sojourn, wheresoever I can find [a home].
10 Mika sì sọ fún un wí pé, “Dúró lọ́dọ̀ mi kí ìwọ sì jẹ́ baba mi àti àlùfáà fún mi, èmi ó sì máa fún ọ ní ṣékélì mẹ́wàá fàdákà ní ọdọọdún, pẹ̀lú aṣọ àti oúnjẹ rẹ̀.”
And Micah said unto him—Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and, I, will give thee ten pieces of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and thy sustenance. So the Levite went.
11 Ọmọ Lefi náà sì gbà láti máa bá a gbé, ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin náà sì dàbí ọ̀kan nínú àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀.
And the Levite was content to dwell with the man, —and the young man became to him, as one of his sons.
12 Nígbà náà ni Mika ya ará Lefi náà sí mímọ́, ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin náà sì di àlùfáà rẹ̀, ó sì ń gbé ilé rẹ̀.
And Micah installed the Levite, and the young man became his priest, —and remained in the house of Micah.
13 Mika sì wí pé, “Báyìí, èmi mọ̀ pé Olúwa yóò ṣe mi ní oore nítorí pé mo ní ọmọ Lefi ní àlùfáà mi.”
Then said Micah—Now, I know that Yahweh will do me good, —seeing I have a Levite as my priest.
