< Judges 16 >

1 Ní ọjọ́ kan Samsoni lọ sí Gasa níbi tí ó ti rí obìnrin panṣágà kan. Ó wọlé tọ̀ ọ́ láti sun ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀ ní òru ọjọ́ náà.
And Samson went from there to Gaza, and saw a prostitute there, and went in to her.
2 Àwọn ará Gasa sì gbọ́ wí pé, “Samsoni wà níbí.” Wọ́n sì yí agbègbè náà ká, wọ́n ń ṣọ́ ọ ní gbogbo òru náà ní ẹnu-bodè ìlú náà. Wọn kò mira ní gbogbo òru náà pé ní “àfẹ̀mọ́júmọ́ àwa yóò pa á.”
And it was reported to the Gazites, saying, "Samson is here." They surrounded him, and lay in wait for him all night at the gate of the city, and were quiet all night, saying, "Wait until morning light, then we will kill him."
3 Ṣùgbọ́n Samsoni sùn níbẹ̀ di àárín ọ̀gànjọ́. Òun sì dìde ní ọ̀gànjọ́, ó fi ọwọ́ di àwọn ìlẹ̀kùn odi ìlú náà mú, pẹ̀lú òpó méjèèjì, ó sì fà wọ́n tu, pẹ̀lú ìdábùú àti ohun gbogbo tí ó wà lára rẹ̀. Ó gbé wọn lé èjìká rẹ̀ òun sì gbé wọn lọ sí orí òkè tí ó kọjú sí Hebroni.
Now Samson rested until midnight, but got up at midnight and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and pulled them up, bar and all, and put them on his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of the mountain that is overlooking Hebron, and set them down there.
4 Lẹ́yìn ìgbà díẹ̀, ó sì ní ìfẹ́ obìnrin kan ní àfonífojì Soreki, orúkọ ẹni tí í ṣe Dẹlila.
It came to pass afterward, that he fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
5 Àwọn ìjòyè Filistini sì lọ bá obìnrin náà, wọ́n sọ fún un wí pé, “Bí ìwọ bá le tàn án kí òun sì fi àṣírí agbára rẹ̀ hàn ọ́, àti bí àwa ó ti lè borí rẹ̀, kí àwa sì dè é kí àwa sì ṣẹ́gun rẹ̀. Ẹnìkọ̀ọ̀kan nínú wa yóò sì fún ọ ní ẹ̀ẹ́dẹ́gbẹ̀fà fàdákà.”
The lords of the Philistines came up to her, and said to her, "Entice him, and see in which his great strength lies, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will each give you eleven hundred pieces of silver."
6 Torí náà Dẹlila sọ fún Samsoni pé, “Sọ àṣírí agbára ńlá rẹ fún mi àti bí wọ́n ti le dè ọ́, àti bí wọ́n ṣe lè borí rẹ.”
Delilah said to Samson, "Please tell me where your great strength lies, and how you can be bound and subdued."
7 Samsoni dá a lóhùn wí pé, “Bí ẹnikẹ́ni bá fi okùn tútù méje tí ẹnìkan kò sá gbẹ dè mí, èmi yóò di aláìlágbára bí i gbogbo àwọn ọkùnrin yòókù.”
Samson said to her, "If they bind me with seven green cords that were never dried, then shall I become weak, and be as another man."
8 Àwọn olóyè Filistini sì mú okùn tútù méje tí ẹnikẹ́ni kò sá gbẹ wá fún Dẹlila òun sì fi wọ́n dè é.
Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green cords which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
9 Nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn tí sá pamọ́ sínú yàrá, òun pè pé, “Samsoni àwọn Filistini ti dé láti mú ọ.” Ṣùgbọ́n òun já àwọn okùn náà bí òwú ti í já nígbà tí ó bá wà lẹ́bàá iná. Torí náà wọn kò mọ àṣírí agbára rẹ̀.
Now she had an ambush waiting in the inner room. She said to him, "The Philistines are on you, Samson." He broke the cords, as a string of tow is broken when it touches the fire. So his strength was not known.
10 Dẹlila sì sọ fún Samsoni pé, ìwọ ti tàn mí; o sì purọ́ fún mi. Wá báyìí kí o sì sọ bí a ti ṣe le dè ọ́.
Delilah said to Samson, "Look, you have mocked me, and told me lies: now please tell me with which you might be bound."
11 Òun dáhùn pé, “Bí wọ́n bá lè fi okùn tuntun tí ẹnikẹ́ni kò tí ì lò rí dì mí dáradára, èmi yóò di aláìlágbára, èmi yóò sì dàbí àwọn ọkùnrin yòókù.”
He said to her, "If they only bind me with new ropes with which no work has been done, then shall I become weak, and be as another man."
12 Dẹlila sì mú àwọn okùn tuntun, ó fi wọ́n dì í. Nígbà tí àwọn ọkùnrin Filistini ti fi ara pamọ́ sínú yàrá, òun kígbe sí i pé, “Samsoni àwọn Filistini dé láti mú ọ,” òun sì já okùn náà kúrò ní ọwọ́ rẹ̀ bí òwú.
So Delilah took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said to him, "The Philistines are on you, Samson." The ambush was waiting in the inner room. He broke them off his arms like a thread.
13 Dẹlila sì tún sọ fún Samsoni pé, “Títí di ìsinsin yìí ìwọ sì ń tún tàn mí, o sì tún purọ́ fún mi. Sọ fún mi ọ̀nà tí wọ́n fi le dè ọ́.” Samsoni dá a lóhùn pé, “Bí ìwọ bá hun ìdí irun méjèèje tí ó wà ní orí mi pẹ̀lú okùn, tí ó sì le dáradára kí o sì fi ẹ̀mú mú un mọ́lẹ̀, èmi yóò di aláìlágbára bí àwọn ọkùnrin yòókù.” Nígbà tí òun ti sùn, Dẹlila hun àwọn ìdí irun méjèèje tí ó wà ní orí rẹ̀,
Delilah said to Samson, "Until now, you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me how you might be bound." He said to her, "If you weave the seven braids on my head with the fabric and fasten them with the pin, then I will be weak as another man."
14 ó sì fi ìhunṣọ dè wọ́n. Ó sì tún pè é pé, “Samsoni àwọn Filistini dé láti mú ọ.” Òun sì jí ní ojú oorun, ó sì fa ìdè ìhunṣọ náà tu pẹ̀lú ohun gbogbo tí wọ́n fi kàn án mọ́lẹ̀.
So while he slept, Delilah took the seven braids on his head, and wove them with the fabric, and she fastened it with the pin, and said to him, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson." And he awoke from his sleep, and pulled away the pin of the loom and the fabric.
15 Dẹlila sì sọ fún un pé, “Èéṣe tí ìwọ fi wí pé, ‘Èmi fẹ́ràn rẹ,’ nígbà tí ìwọ kò fi ọkàn tán mi. Èyí ni ìgbà kẹta tí ìwọ ti tàn mí jẹ, tí ìwọ kò sì sọ àṣírí ibi tí agbára ńlá rẹ gbé wà fún mi.”
She said to him, "How can you say, 'I love you,' when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies."
16 Ó sì ṣe nígbà tí ó fi ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ rọ̀ ọ́ ní ojoojúmọ́ pẹ̀lú ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ títí dé bi pé ó sú dé òpin ẹ̀mí rẹ̀.
It happened, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, that his soul was troubled to death.
17 Òun sì sọ ohun gbogbo tí ó wà ní ọkàn rẹ̀ fún un. Ó ní, “Abẹ kò tí ì kan orí mi rí, nítorí pé Nasiri, ẹni ìyàsọ́tọ̀ fún Ọlọ́run ni mo jẹ́ láti ìgbà ìbí mi wá. Bí a bá fá irun orí mi, agbára mi yóò fi mí sílẹ̀, èmi yóò sì di aláìlágbára bí àwọn ọkùnrin yòókù.”
He told her all his heart, and said to her, "No razor has ever come on my head; for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will go from me, and I will become weak, and be like any other man."
18 Nígbà tí Dẹlila rí i pé ó ti sọ ohun gbogbo fún òun tan, Dẹlila ránṣẹ́ sí àwọn ìjòyè Filistini pé, “Ẹ wá lẹ́ẹ̀kan sí i, ó ti sọ ohun gbogbo fún mi.” Torí náà àwọn olóyè Filistini padà, wọ́n sì mú owó ìpinnu náà lọ́wọ́.
When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, "Come up this once, for he has told me all his heart." Then the lords of the Philistines went up to her, and brought the money in their hands.
19 Òun sì mú kí Samsoni sùn lórí itan rẹ̀, òun sì pe ọkùnrin kan láti fá àwọn ìdì irun orí rẹ̀ méjèèje, òun sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ṣẹ́gun rẹ̀. Agbára rẹ̀ sì fi í sílẹ̀ lọ.
She made him sleep on her knees; and she called for a man, and shaved off the seven locks of his head; and he began to weaken, and his strength went from him.
20 Òun pè é wí pé, “Samsoni àwọn Filistini dé láti mú ọ.” Òun jí ní ojú oorun rẹ̀, ó sì sọ pé, “Èmi yóò jáde lọ bí í ti àtẹ̀yìnwá, kí èmi sì gba ara mi, kí n di òmìnira.” Ṣùgbọ́n òun kò mọ̀ pé Olúwa ti fi òun sílẹ̀.
She said, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson." He awoke out of his sleep, and said, "I will go out as at other times, and shake myself free." But he didn't know that the LORD had departed from him.
21 Nígbà náà ni àwọn Filistini mú un, wọ́n yọ ojú rẹ̀ méjèèjì wọ́n sì mú un lọ sí Gasa. Wọ́n fi ṣẹ́kẹ́ṣẹkẹ̀ idẹ dè é, wọ́n sì fi sí ibi iṣẹ́ ọlọ lílọ̀ nínú ilé túbú.
The Philistines seized him, and gouged out his eyes. And they brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with bronze shackles, and he ground at the mill in the prison.
22 Ṣùgbọ́n irun orí rẹ̀ bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí í tún hù lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí wọ́n ti fá a.
However the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaved.
23 Àwọn ìjòyè, àwọn ará Filistini sì péjọpọ̀ láti ṣe ìrúbọ ńlá sí Dagoni ọlọ́run wọn àti láti ṣe ayẹyẹ wọ́n wí pé, ọlọ́run wa ti fi Samsoni ọ̀tá wa lé wa lọ́wọ́.
The lords of the Philistines gathered them together to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon, and to celebrate; for they said, "Our god has delivered Samson our enemy into our hand."
24 Nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn rí Samsoni wọ́n yin ọlọ́run wọn wí pé, “Ọlọ́run wa ti fi ọ̀tá wa lé wa lọ́wọ́. Àní ẹni tí ó ti run ilẹ̀ wa ẹni tí ó ti pa ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ nínú wa.”
When the people saw him, they praised their god; for they said, "Our god has delivered our enemy and the destroyer of our country, who has slain many of us, into our hand."
25 Nígbà tí inú wọn dùn gidigidi tí wọ́n ń yọ ayọ̀ ńlá, wọ́n pariwo pé, ẹ mú Samsoni wá kí ó wá dá wa lára yá. Wọ́n sì pe Samsoni jáde láti ọgbà ẹ̀wọ̀n náà, òun sì ń ṣeré fún wọn. Nígbà tí wọ́n mú un dúró láàrín àwọn òpó.
And it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, "Call for Samson, that he may entertain us." So they called for Samson out of the prison; and he performed before them. And they were striking him. And they set him between the pillars;
26 Samsoni sọ fún àwọn ìránṣẹ́ tí ó di ọwọ́ rẹ̀ mú pé, “Ẹ fi mí si ibi tí ọwọ́ mi yóò ti le tó àwọn òpó tí ó gbé tẹmpili dúró mú, kí èmi lè fẹ̀yìn tì wọ́n.”
and Samson said to the boy who held him by the hand, "Allow me to feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean on them." And the boy did so.
27 Ní àsìkò náà, tẹmpili yìí kún fún àwọn ọkùnrin àti obìnrin; gbogbo àwọn ìjòyè Filistini wà níbẹ̀, ní òkè ilé náà, níbi tí ẹgbẹ̀rún mẹ́ta àwọn ọkùnrin àti obìnrin tí ń wòran Samsoni bí òun ti ń ṣeré.
Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there. And there were on the roof about three thousand men and women watching while Samson performed.
28 Nígbà náà ni Samsoni ké pe Olúwa wí pé, “Olúwa Olódùmarè, rántí mi. Háà Ọlọ́run jọ̀wọ́ fi agbára fún mi lẹ́ẹ̀kan yìí sí i, kí èmi lè gbẹ̀san lára àwọn Filistini nítorí àwọn ojú mi méjèèjì.”
Samson called to the LORD, and said, "Lord GOD, please remember me, and please strengthen me only this once, God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes."
29 Samsoni sì na ọwọ́ mú àwọn òpó méjèèjì tí ó wà láàrín gbùngbùn, orí àwọn tí tẹmpili náà dúró lé, ó fi ọwọ́ ọ̀tún mú ọ̀kan àti ọwọ́ òsì mú èkejì, ó fi ara tì wọ́n,
Samson took hold of the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and leaned on them, the one with his right hand, and the other with his left.
30 Samsoni sì wí pé, “Jẹ́ kí èmi kú pẹ̀lú àwọn Filistini!” Òun sì fi agbára ńlá tì wọ́n, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ilé náà wó lu àwọn ìjòyè àti gbogbo àwọn tí ó wà nínú rẹ̀. Báyìí ni ó pa ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ nígbà ikú rẹ̀ ju ìgbà ayé rẹ̀ lọ.
Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines." He bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell on the lords, and on all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than those who he killed in his life.
31 Nígbà náà ni àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀ àti gbogbo ìdílé baba rẹ̀ ní àpapọ̀ gòkè lọ wọ́n sì gbé e, wọ́n gbé e padà wá, wọ́n sì sin ín sí agbede-méjì Sora àti Eṣtaoli, sínú ibojì Manoa baba rẹ̀. Òun ti ṣe àkóso Israẹli ní ogún ọdún.
Then his brothers and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the burial site of Manoah his father. He judged Israel twenty years.
