< Judges 13 >
1 Àwọn ọmọ Israẹli sì túnṣe ohun tí ó burú ní ojú Olúwa, Olúwa sì fi wọ́n lé àwọn ará Filistini lọ́wọ́ fún ogójì ọdún.
Again the Israelites did evil in the sight of the LORD, so He delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years.
2 Ọkùnrin ará Sora kan wà, orúkọ rẹ̀ a máa jẹ́ Manoa láti ẹ̀yà Dani. Aya rẹ̀ yàgàn kò sì bímọ.
Now there was a man from Zorah named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, whose wife was barren and had no children.
3 Angẹli Olúwa fi ara han obìnrin náà, ó sì wí fún un pé, “Bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé ìwọ yàgàn, ìwọ kò sì tí ì bímọ, ìwọ yóò lóyún, ìwọ yóò sì bí ọmọkùnrin kan.
The angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, “It is true that you are barren and have no children; but you will conceive and give birth to a son.
4 Báyìí rí i dájúdájú pé ìwọ kò mu wáìnì tàbí ọtí líle kankan àti pé ìwọ kò jẹ ohun aláìmọ́ kankan,
Now please be careful not to drink wine or strong drink, and not to eat anything unclean.
5 nítorí ìwọ yóò lóyún, ìwọ yóò sì bí ọmọkùnrin kan. Má ṣe fi abẹ kan orí rẹ̀, nítorí pé Nasiri, ẹni ìyàsọ́tọ̀ fún Ọlọ́run ni ọmọ náà yóò jẹ́ láti ọjọ́ ìbí rẹ̀. Òun ni yóò bẹ̀rẹ̀ ìdáǹdè àwọn ọmọ Israẹli kúrò ní ọwọ́ àwọn ará Filistini.”
For behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son. And no razor shall come over his head, because the boy will be a Nazirite to God from the womb, and he will begin the deliverance of Israel from the hand of the Philistines.”
6 Nígbà náà ni obìnrin náà tọ ọkọ rẹ̀ lọ, o sì sọ fún un wí pé, “Ènìyàn Ọlọ́run kan tọ̀ mí wá. Ó jọ angẹli Ọlọ́run, ó ba ènìyàn lẹ́rù gidigidi. Èmi kò béèrè ibi tí ó ti wá, òun náà kò sì sọ orúkọ rẹ̀ fún mi.
So the woman went and told her husband, “A man of God came to me. His appearance was like the angel of God, exceedingly awesome. I did not ask him where he came from, and he did not tell me his name.
7 Ṣùgbọ́n ó sọ fún mi wí pé, ‘Ìwọ yóò lóyún, ìwọ yóò sì bí ọmọkùnrin kan, fún ìdí èyí, má ṣe mu wáìnì tàbí àwọn ọtí líle mìíràn bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí ìwọ má ṣe jẹ ohunkóhun tí í ṣe aláìmọ́, nítorí pé Nasiri Ọlọ́run ni ọmọ náà yóò jẹ́ láti ọjọ́ ìbí rẹ̀ títí di ọjọ́ ikú rẹ̀.’”
But he said to me, ‘Behold, you will conceive and give birth to a son. Now, therefore, do not drink wine or strong drink, and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazirite to God from the womb until the day of his death.’”
8 Nígbà náà ni Manoa gbàdúrà sí Olúwa wí pé, “Háà Olúwa, èmi bẹ̀ ọ́, jẹ́ kí ènìyàn Ọlọ́run tí ìwọ rán sí wa padà tọ̀ wá wá láti kọ́ wa bí àwa yóò ti ṣe tọ́ ọmọ tí àwa yóò bí náà.”
Then Manoah prayed to the LORD, “Please, O Lord, let the man of God You sent us come to us again to teach us how to raise the boy who is to be born.”
9 Ọlọ́run fetí sí ohùn Manoa, angẹli Ọlọ́run náà tún padà tọ obìnrin náà wá nígbà tí ó wà ní oko ṣùgbọ́n ọkọ rẹ̀ Manoa kò sí ní ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀.
And God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the angel of God returned to the woman as she was sitting in the field; but her husband Manoah was not with her.
10 Nítorí náà ni obìnrin náà ṣe yára lọ sọ fún ọkọ rẹ̀ pé, “Ọkùnrin tí ó fi ara hàn mí ní ọjọ́sí ti tún padà wá.”
The woman ran quickly to tell her husband, “Behold, the man who came to me the other day has reappeared!”
11 Manoa yára dìde, ó sì tẹ̀lé aya rẹ̀, nígbà tí ó dé ọ̀dọ̀ ọkùnrin náà ó ní, “Ǹjẹ́ ìwọ ni o bá obìnrin yìí sọ̀rọ̀?” Ọkùnrin náà dáhùn pé, “Èmi ni.”
So Manoah got up and followed his wife. When he came to the man, he asked, “Are you the man who spoke to my wife?” “I am,” he said.
12 Manoa bi ọkùnrin náà pé, “Nígbà tí ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ bá ṣẹ kí ni yóò jẹ́ ìlànà fún ìgbé ayé àti iṣẹ́ ọmọ náà?”
Then Manoah asked, “When your words come to pass, what will be the boy’s rule of life and mission?”
13 Angẹli Olúwa náà dáhùn wí pé, “Aya rẹ gbọdọ̀ ṣe gbogbo ohun tí mo ti sọ fún un
So the angel of the LORD answered Manoah, “Your wife is to do everything I told her.
14 kò gbọdọ̀ jẹ ohunkóhun tí ó bá ti inú èso àjàrà jáde wá, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kò gbọdọ̀ mu wáìnì tàbí àwọn ọtí líle mìíràn tàbí jẹ ohunkóhun tí ó bá jẹ́ aláìmọ́. Ó ní láti ṣe ohun gbogbo tí mo ti pàṣẹ fún un.”
She must not eat anything that comes from the vine, nor drink any wine or strong drink, nor eat anything unclean. She must do everything I have commanded her.”
15 Manoa sọ fún angẹli Olúwa náà pé, “Jọ̀wọ́ dára dúró títí àwa yóò fi pèsè ọ̀dọ́ ewúrẹ́ kan fún ọ.”
“Please stay here,” Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, “and we will prepare a young goat for you.”
16 Angẹli Olúwa náà dá Manoa lóhùn pé, “Bí ẹ̀yin tilẹ̀ dá mi dúró, èmi kì yóò jẹ ọ̀kankan nínú oúnjẹ tí ẹ̀yin yóò pèsè. Ṣùgbọ́n tí ẹ̀yin bá fẹ́ ẹ pèsè ọrẹ ẹbọ sísun, kí ẹ sì fi rú ẹbọ sí Olúwa.” (Manoa kò mọ̀ pé angẹli Olúwa ní i ṣe.)
And the angel of the LORD replied, “Even if I stay, I will not eat your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the LORD.” For Manoah did not know that it was the angel of the LORD.
17 Manoa sì béèrè lọ́wọ́ angẹli Olúwa náà pé, “Kí ni orúkọ rẹ, kí àwa bá à lè fi ọlá fún ọ nígbà tí ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ bá ṣẹ?”
Then Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, “What is your name, so that we may honor you when your word comes to pass?”
18 Ṣùgbọ́n angẹli Olúwa náà dáhùn pé, “Èéṣe tí ìwọ ń béèrè orúkọ mi? Ìyanu ni, ó kọjá ìmọ̀.”
“Why do you ask my name,” said the angel of the LORD, “since it is beyond comprehension?”
19 Lẹ́yìn náà ni Manoa mú ọ̀dọ́ ewúrẹ́, pẹ̀lú ẹbọ ọkà, ó sì fi rú ẹbọ lórí àpáta kan sí Olúwa. Nígbà tí Manoa àti ìyàwó dúró tí wọn ń wò Olúwa ṣe ohun ìyanu kan.
Then Manoah took a young goat and a grain offering and offered them on a rock to the LORD. And as Manoah and his wife looked on, the LORD did a marvelous thing.
20 Bí ẹ̀là ahọ́n iná ti là jáde láti ibi pẹpẹ ìrúbọ náà sí ọ̀run, angẹli Olúwa gòkè re ọ̀run láàrín ahọ́n iná náà. Nígbà tí wọ́n rí ìṣẹ̀lẹ̀ yìí, Manoa àti aya rẹ̀ wólẹ̀ wọ́n sì dojúbolẹ̀.
When the flame went up from the altar to the sky, the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame. When Manoah and his wife saw this, they fell facedown to the ground.
21 Nígbà tí angẹli Olúwa náà kò tún fi ara rẹ̀ han Manoa àti aya rẹ̀ mọ́, Manoa wá mọ̀ pé angẹli Olúwa ni.
And when the angel of the LORD did not appear again to Manoah and his wife, Manoah realized that it had been the angel of the LORD.
22 Manoa sọ fún aya rẹ̀ pé, “Dájúdájú àwa yóò kú nítorí àwa ti fi ojú rí Ọlọ́run.”
“We are going to die,” he said to his wife, “for we have seen God!”
23 Ṣùgbọ́n ìyàwó rẹ̀ dáhùn pé, “Bí Olúwa bá ní èrò àti pa wá kò bá tí gba ẹbọ sísun àti ọrẹ ọkà wa, tàbí fi gbogbo nǹkan wọ̀nyí hàn wá tó sọ nǹkan ìyanu yìí fún wa.”
But his wife replied, “If the LORD had intended to kill us, He would not have accepted the burnt offering and the grain offering from our hands, nor would He have shown us all these things or spoken to us this way.”
24 Obìnrin náà sì bí ọmọkùnrin kan, ó sì sọ orúkọ rẹ̀ ní Samsoni. Ọmọ náà dàgbà Olúwa sì bùkún un.
So the woman gave birth to a son and named him Samson. The boy grew, and the LORD blessed him.
25 Ẹ̀mí Olúwa sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí ru sókè nígbà tí ó wà ní Mahane-Dani ní agbede-méjì Sora àti Eṣtaoli.
And the Spirit of the LORD began to stir him at Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
