< Jude 1 >
1 Juda, ìránṣẹ́ Jesu Kristi àti arákùnrin Jakọbu, Sí àwọn tí a pè, olùfẹ́ nínú Ọlọ́run Baba, tí a pamọ́ fún Jesu Kristi:
To those who, having received the call, have been loved by God the Father and protected by Jesus Christ, From Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and the brother of James.
2 Kí àánú, àlàáfíà àti ìfẹ́ kí ó máa jẹ́ tiyín ní ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀.
May mercy, peace, and love be yours in ever increasing measure.
3 Ẹ̀yin ọ̀rẹ́ mi tòótọ́, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé èmí ní ìtara láti kọ̀wé sí i yín nípa ìgbàlà tí í ṣe ti gbogbo ènìyàn, n kò gbọdọ̀ má kọ̀wé sí yín, kí ń sì gbà yín ní ìyànjú láti máa jà fitafita fún ìgbàgbọ́, tí a ti fi lé àwọn ènìyàn mímọ́ lọ́wọ́ ní ẹ̀ẹ̀kan ṣoṣo.
Dear friends, while I was making every effort to write to you about our common salvation, I felt that I must write to you at once to encourage you to fight in defense of the faith that has once for all been entrusted to the keeping of Christ’s people.
4 Nítorí àwọn ènìyàn kan ń bẹ tí wọ́n ń yọ́ wọlé, àwọn ẹni tí a ti yàn láti ìgbà àtijọ́ sí ẹ̀bi yìí, àwọn aláìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run, tí ń yí oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Ọlọ́run wa padà sí wọ̀bìà, tí wọn sì ń sẹ́ Olúwa wa kan ṣoṣo náà, àní, Jesu Kristi Olúwa.
For there have crept in among you certain godless people, whose sentence has long since been pronounced, and who make the mercy of God an excuse for profligacy, and disown our only lord and master, Jesus Christ.
5 Nítòótọ́, ẹ ti mọ nǹkan wọ̀nyí ní ẹ̀ẹ̀kan rí, mo fẹ́ rán an yín létí pé, lẹ́yìn tí Olúwa ti gba àwọn kan là láti ilẹ̀ Ejibiti wá, lẹ́yìn náà ni ó run àwọn tí kò gbàgbọ́.
Now I want to remind you – but you already know it all – that, though the Lord delivered the people from Egypt, yet he afterward destroyed those who refused to believe in him;
6 Àti àwọn angẹli tí kò tọ́jú ipò ọlá wọn, ṣùgbọ́n tí wọn fi ipò wọn sílẹ̀, àwọn tí ó pamọ́ sínú ẹ̀wọ̀n àìnípẹ̀kun ní ìsàlẹ̀ òkùnkùn de ìdájọ́ ọjọ́ ńlá nì. (aïdios )
and that even those angels, who did not keep to their appointed spheres, but left their proper homes, have been kept by him for the judgment of the great day in everlasting chains and black darkness. (aïdios )
7 Àní bí Sodomu àti Gomorra, àti àwọn ìlú agbègbè wọn, ti fi ara wọn fún àgbèrè ṣíṣe, tí wọ́n sì ń tẹ̀lé ará àjèjì lẹ́yìn, àwọn ni ó fi lélẹ̀ bí àpẹẹrẹ, àwọn tí ó ń jìyà iná àìnípẹ̀kun. (aiōnios )
Like Sodom and Gomorrah and the towns near them, which gave themselves up to fornication, and fell into unnatural vice, these angels now stand out as a warning, undergoing, as they are, punishment in eternal fire. (aiōnios )
8 Bákan náà ni àwọn wọ̀nyí ń sọ ara wọn di èérí nínú àlá wọn, wọ́n ń gan ìjòyè, wọn sì ń sọ̀rọ̀ búburú sí àwọn ọlọ́lá.
Yet in the same way these people, too, cherishing vain dreams, pollute our human nature, reject control, and malign the celestial beings.
9 Ṣùgbọ́n Mikaeli, olórí àwọn angẹli, nígbà tí ó ń bá Èṣù jiyàn nítorí òkú Mose, kò sọ ọ̀rọ̀-òdì sí i; ṣùgbọ́n ó wí pé, “Olúwa bá ọ wí.”
Yet even Michael, the archangel, when, in his dispute with the devil, he was arguing about the body of Moses, did not venture to charge him with maligning, but said merely ‘The Lord rebuke you!’
10 Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn wọ̀nyí n sọ̀rọ̀-òdì sí ohun gbogbo ti kò yé wọn: ṣùgbọ́n ohun gbogbo tí wọn mọ̀ nípa èrò ara ni, bí ẹranko tí kò ní ìyè, nípasẹ̀ nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni wọ́n di ẹni ìparun.
But these people malign whatever they do not understand; while they use such things as they know by instinct (like the animals that have no reason) for their own corruption.
11 Ègbé ni fún wọn! Nítorí tí wọ́n ti rìn ní ọ̀nà Kaini, wọ́n sì fi ìwọra súré sínú ìṣìnà Balaamu nítorí ère, wọn ṣègbé nínú ìṣọ̀tẹ̀ Kora.
Alas for them! They walk in the steps of Cain; led astray by Balaam’s love of gain, they plunge into sin, and meet their ruin through rebellion like Korah.
12 Àwọn wọ̀nyí ní ó jẹ́ àbàwọ́n nínú àsè ìfẹ́ yín, nígbà tí wọ́n ń bá yín jẹ àsè, àwọn olùṣọ́-àgùntàn ti ń bọ́ ara wọn láìbẹ̀rù. Wọ́n jẹ́ ìkùùkuu láìrọ òjò, tí a ń ti ọwọ́ afẹ́fẹ́ gbá kiri; àwọn igi aláìléso ní àkókò èso, wọ́n kú lẹ́ẹ̀méjì, a sì fà wọ́n tú tigbòǹgbò tigbòǹgbò.
These are the people who are blots on your ‘love-feasts,’ when they feast together and provide without scruple for themselves alone. They are clouds without rain, driven before the winds; they are leafless trees without a vestige of fruit, dead through and through, torn up by the roots;
13 Wọ́n jẹ́ ìjì líle ti ń ru ní ojú omi Òkun, ti ń hó ìfófó ìtìjú wọn jáde; alárìnkiri ìràwọ̀, àwọn tí a pa òkùnkùn biribiri mọ́ dè láéláé. (aiōn )
they are wild sea waves, foaming with their own shame; they are ‘wandering stars,’ for which the blackest darkness has been reserved for ever. (aiōn )
14 Àwọn wọ̀nyí pẹ̀lú ni Enoku, ẹni keje láti ọ̀dọ̀ Adamu, sọtẹ́lẹ̀ nípa wọn pé, “Kíyèsi i, Olúwa ń bọ̀ pẹ̀lú ẹgbẹẹgbẹ̀rún ní ọ̀nà ẹgbẹ̀rún àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ mímọ́,
To these people, as to others, Enoch, the seventh in descent from Adam, declared – ‘See! The Lord has come with his hosts of holy ones around him,
15 láti ṣe ìdájọ́ gbogbo ènìyàn, láti dá gbogbo àwọn aláìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run lẹ́bi ní ti gbogbo iṣẹ́ àìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run wọn, ti wọ́n ti fi àìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run ṣe, àti ní ti gbogbo ọ̀rọ̀ líle tí àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣẹ̀ aláìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run ti sọ sí i.”
to execute judgment on all people, and to convict all godless people of all their godless acts, which in their ungodliness they have committed, and of all the harsh words which they have spoken against him, godless sinners that they are!’
16 Àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí ní àwọn ti ń kùn, àwọn aláròyé, ti ń rìn nípa ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ ara wọn; wọn ń gbéraga nípa ara wọn, wọ́n sì ń ṣátá àwọn ènìyàn mìíràn fún èrè ara wọn.
These people are always murmuring, and complaining of their lot; they follow where their passions lead them; they have arrogant words on their lips; and they flatter others for the sake of what they can get from them.
17 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin olùfẹ́, ẹ rántí àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ tí a ti sọ ṣáájú láti ọwọ́ àwọn aposteli Olúwa wa Jesu Kristi.
But you should, dear friends, recall what was foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 Bí wọn ti wí fún yín pé, “Nígbà ìkẹyìn àwọn ẹlẹ́gàn yóò wà, tí wọn yóò máa rìn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ àìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run ti ara wọn.”
how they used to say to you – ‘As time draws to an end, there will be scoffers, who will be led by their godless passions.’
19 Àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí ni àwọn ẹni tí ń ya ara wọn sí ọ̀tọ̀, àwọn ẹni ti ara, tí wọn kò ni Ẹ̀mí.
These are the people – animal and unspiritual – who cause divisions.
20 Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ̀yin, olùfẹ́, ti ẹ ń gbé ara yín ró lórí ìgbàgbọ́ yín tí ó mọ́ jùlọ, ti ẹ ń gbàdúrà nínú Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́.
But you must, dear friends, build up your characters on the foundation of your most holy faith, pray under the guidance of the Holy Spirit,
21 Ẹ máa pa ara yín mọ́ nínú ìfẹ́ Ọlọ́run, bí ẹ̀yin ti ń retí àánú Olúwa wa Jesu Kristi tí yóò mú yín dé ìyè àìnípẹ̀kun. (aiōnios )
and keep within the love of God, while waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, to bring you to eternal life. (aiōnios )
22 Ẹ máa ṣàánú fún àwọn tí ń ṣe iyèméjì.
To some show pity, because they are in doubt. ‘Drag them out of the fire,’ and save them.
23 Ẹ máa gba àwọn ẹlòmíràn là, nípa fífà wọ́n yọ kúrò nínú iná; kí ẹ sì máa ṣàánú pẹ̀lú ìbẹ̀rù kí ẹ sì kórìíra ẹ̀wù tí ara ti sọ di èérí.
To others show pity, but with caution, hating the clothing polluted by their touch.
24 Ǹjẹ́ mo fi yín lé ẹni tí o lè pa yín mọ́ kúrò nínú ìkọ̀sẹ̀, tí o sì lè mú yín wá síwájú ògo rẹ̀ láìlábùkù pẹ̀lú ayọ̀ ńlá lọ́wọ́—
To him who is able to guard you from falling, and to bring you into his glorious presence, blameless and rejoicing –
25 tí Ọlọ́run ọlọ́gbọ́n nìkan ṣoṣo, Olùgbàlà wa, ní ògo àti ọláńlá, ìjọba àti agbára, nípasẹ̀ Jesu Kristi Olúwa wa, kí gbogbo ayé tó wà, nísinsin yìí àti títí láéláé! Àmín. (aiōn )
to the one God, our Savior, be ascribed, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, glory, majesty, power, and dominion, as it was before time began, is now, and will be for all time to come. Amen. (aiōn )
