< Joshua 1 >

1 Lẹ́yìn ikú u Mose ìránṣẹ́ Olúwa, Olúwa sọ fún Joṣua ọmọ Nuni, olùrànlọ́wọ́ ọ Mose,
Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
2 “Mose ìránṣẹ́ mi ti kú. Nísinsin yìí, ìwọ àti gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí, ẹ múra láti kọjá odò Jordani lọ sí ilẹ̀ tí Èmi ó fi fún wọn fún àwọn ará Israẹli.
Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, to the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3 Èmi yóò fún un yín ní gbogbo ibi tí ẹ bá fi ẹsẹ̀ ẹ yín tẹ̀, gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ti ṣe ìlérí fún Mose.
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given to you, as I said to Moses.
4 Ilẹ̀ ẹ yín yóò fẹ̀ láti aginjù Lebanoni, àti láti odò ńlá, ti Eufurate—gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè Hiti títí ó fi dé Òkun Ńlá ní ìwọ̀-oòrùn.
From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea toward the setting of the sun, shall be your land.
5 Kì yóò sí ẹnikẹ́ni tí yóò le è dúró níwájú rẹ ní ọjọ́ ayé è rẹ gbogbo. Bí mo ti wà pẹ̀lú u Mose, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Èmi yóò wà pẹ̀lú rẹ, Èmi kì yóò fi ọ́ sílẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Èmi kì yóò kọ̀ ọ́.
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6 “Jẹ́ alágbára kí o sì mú àyà le, nítorí ìwọ ni yóò ṣe amọ̀nà àwọn ènìyàn wọ̀nyí, láti lè jogún ilẹ̀ tí mo ti búra fún àwọn baba ńlá a wọn láti fi fún wọn.
Be strong and of a good courage: for to this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them.
7 Jẹ́ alágbára, kí o sì mú àyà le gidigidi. Kí o sì ṣọ́ra láti pa gbogbo òfin tí Mose ìránṣẹ́ mi fún ọ mọ́, má ṣe yà kúrò nínú u rẹ̀ sí ọ̀tún tàbí sí òsì, kí ìwọ kí ó lè ṣe rere níbikíbi tí ìwọ bá ń lọ.
Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper wherever thou goest.
8 Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ìwé òfin yìí kúrò ní ẹnu rẹ, máa ṣe àṣàrò nínú u rẹ̀ ní ọ̀sán àti ní òru, kí ìwọ kí ó lè ṣọ́ra láti ṣe gbogbo nǹkan tí a kọ sí inú u rẹ̀. Nígbà náà ni yóò dára fún ọ, ìwọ yóò sì ní àṣeyọrí.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate in it day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written in it: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9 Èmi kò ha ti pàṣẹ fún ọ bí? Jẹ́ alágbára kí o sì mú àyà le. Má ṣe bẹ̀rù, má sì ṣe rẹ̀wẹ̀sì, nítorí pé Olúwa à rẹ yóò wà pẹ̀lú rẹ ní ibikíbi tí ìwọ bá ń lọ.”
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee wherever thou goest.
10 Báyìí ni Joṣua pàṣẹ fún olórí àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀,
Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11 “Ẹ la ibùdó já, kí ẹ sì sọ fún àwọn ènìyàn, ‘Ẹ pèsè oúnjẹ yín sílẹ̀. Ní ìwòyí ọ̀túnla, ẹ̀yin yóò la Jordani yìí kọjá, láti gba ilẹ̀ tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín fi fún un yín láti ní.’”
Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare provisions; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.
12 Ṣùgbọ́n Joṣua sọ fún àwọn ará a Reubeni, àwọn ará Gadi àti fún ìdajì ẹ̀yà Manase pé,
And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spoke Joshua, saying,
13 “Rántí àṣẹ tí Mose ìránṣẹ́ Olúwa pa fún yín: ‘Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín á fún yin ní ìsinmi, òun yóò sì fún un yín ní ilẹ̀ yìí.’
Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.
14 Àwọn ìyàwó yín, àwọn ọmọ yín àti àwọn ẹran ọ̀sìn yín lè dúró ní ilẹ̀ tí Mose fún un yin ní ìlà-oòrùn Jordani; ṣùgbọ́n gbogbo àwọn jagunjagun un yín, pẹ̀lú ìhámọ́ra ogun gbọdọ̀ kọjá síwájú àwọn arákùnrin yín. Ẹ̀yin yóò sì rán àwọn arákùnrin yín lọ́wọ́
Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
15 títí Olúwa yóò fi fún wọn ní ìsinmi, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe fún un yín, àti títí tí àwọn pẹ̀lú yóò fi gba ilẹ̀ náà tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín fi fún wọn. Lẹ́yìn náà, ẹ̀yin lè padà sí ilẹ̀ ìní in yín, tí Mose ìránṣẹ́ Olúwa fi fún un yin ní agbègbè ìlà-oòrùn ti Jordani.”
Until the LORD shall have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return to the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD’S servant gave you on this side of Jordan toward the sunrising.
And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and wherever thou sendest us, we will go.
17 Gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwa ti gbọ́rọ̀ sí Mose nínú ohun gbogbo, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwa yóò máa gbọ́ tìrẹ. Kí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ wà pẹ̀lú rẹ, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ṣe wà pẹ̀lú u Mose.
According as we hearkened to Moses in all things, so will we hearken to thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
18 Ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá tàpá sí ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ, tí kò sì ṣe ìgbọ́ràn sí ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ nínú ohun gbogbo tí ìwọ yóò pàṣẹ fún wọn, pípa ni a ó pa á. Kí ìwọ sá à ṣe gírí, kí ó sì mú àyà le!”
Every one that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken to thy words in all that thou commandest him, shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
