< Joshua 3 >
1 Ní kùtùkùtù òwúrọ̀, Joṣua àti gbogbo àwọn Israẹli sí kúrò ní Ṣittimu, wọ́n sì lọ sí etí odò Jordani, wọ́n sì pa ibùdó síbẹ̀ kí wọn tó kọjá.
Early the following morning Joshua and the Israelites set out from Shittim and arrived at the banks of the Jordan. There they all spent the night before crossing over.
2 Lẹ́yìn ọjọ́ kẹta àwọn olórí la àárín ibùdó já.
Three days later those in charge of the people went through the camp
3 Wọ́n sì pàṣẹ fún àwọn ènìyàn pé, “Nígbà tí ẹ bá rí àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, tí àwọn àlùfáà tí wọ́n jẹ́ ọmọ Lefi rù ú, nígbà náà ni ẹ̀yin yóò sí kúrò ní ipò yín, ẹ̀yin yóò sì máa tẹ̀lé e.
telling the people, “When you see the Ark of the Agreement of the Lord your God carried by the priests, the Levites, you must leave the place where you are and follow it.

That way you'll know which way to go, since you haven't been here before. Leave about 3,000 feet between you and the Ark. Don't go near it!”
5 Joṣua sì sọ fún àwọn ènìyàn pé, “Ẹ ya ara yín sí mímọ́, nítorí ní ọ̀la, Olúwa yóò ṣe ohun ìyanu ní àárín yín.”
Then Joshua said to the people, “Make sure you are pure, because tomorrow the Lord is going to do amazing things among you.”
6 Joṣua sọ fún àwọn àlùfáà pé, “Ẹ̀yin, ẹ gbé àpótí ẹ̀rí náà kí ẹ̀yin kí ó sì máa lọ ṣáájú àwọn ènìyàn.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n gbé e sókè, wọ́n sì ń lọ ní iwájú u wọn.
Joshua spoke to the priests, “Pick up the Ark of the Agreement and go before the people.” So they picked up the Ark of the Agreement and went ahead of the people.
7 Olúwa sì sọ fún Joṣua pé, “Òní yìí ni Èmi yóò bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí í gbé ọ ga ní ojú u gbogbo àwọn ará Israẹli, kí wọn lè mọ̀ pé Èmi wà pẹ̀lú rẹ gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ṣe wà pẹ̀lú Mose.
The Lord said to Joshua, “What I do today will confirm you as great leader in the sight of all the Israelites, so that they'll realize that just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.
8 Sọ fún àwọn àlùfáà tí ó ru àpótí ẹ̀rí náà, ‘Nígbà tí ẹ bá dé etí omi Jordani, ẹ lọ kí ẹ sì dúró nínú odò náà.’”
Tell the priests carrying the Ark of the Agreement, ‘When you get to the edge of the Jordan, take a few steps into the water and then stop.’”
9 Joṣua sì sọ fún àwọn ọmọ Israẹli pé, “Ẹ súnmọ́ ibí kí ẹ̀yin kí ó sì fetí sí ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín.
So Joshua said to the Israelites, “Come here and listen to what the Lord your God has to say to you.
10 Èyí ni ẹ̀yin yóò fi mọ̀ pé Ọlọ́run alààyè wà ní àárín yín àti pé dájúdájú yóò lé àwọn ará Kenaani, àwọn ará Hiti, Hifi, Peresi, Girgaṣi, Amori àti Jebusi jáde níwájú u yín.
This is how you will know that the living God is right here with you,” he told them. “You can be sure that he will drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites.
11 Àpótí májẹ̀mú Olúwa gbogbo ayé ń gòkè lọ sí Jordani ṣáájú u yín.
Just watch—the Ark of the Agreement of the Lord of all the earth will cross in front of you through the Jordan.
12 Ǹjẹ́ nísinsin yìí, ẹ mú ọkùnrin méjìlá nínú àwọn ẹ̀yà Israẹli, ẹnìkan nínú ẹ̀yà kọ̀ọ̀kan.
Choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one per tribe.
13 Bí àwọn àlùfáà tí ó ru àpótí Olúwa, Olúwa gbogbo ayé bá ti ẹsẹ̀ bọ odò Jordani, omi tí ń ti òkè sàn wá yóò gé kúrò yóò sì gbá jọ bí òkìtì kan.”
The moment the priests carrying the Ark step into the water the river will stop flowing and the water will pile up.”

So the people broke camp and set out to cross the Jordan, with the priests carrying the Ark ahead of them.
15 Odò Jordani sì máa ń wà ní kíkún ní gbogbo ìgbà ìkórè. Ṣùgbọ́n bí àwọn àlùfáà tí ó ru àpótí ẹ̀rí ti dé odò Jordani tí ẹsẹ̀ wọn sì kan etí omi,
As it was harvest season, the Jordan was full of water, overflowing its banks. But at the very moment the priests carrying the Ark stepped into the water, the river stopped flowing.
16 omi tí ń ti òkè sàn wá dúró. Ó sì gbá jọ bí òkìtì ní òkèèrè, ní ìlú tí a ń pè ní Adamu, tí ó wà ní tòsí Saretani; nígbà tí omi tí ń sàn lọ sínú Òkun aginjù (ti o túmọ̀ sí Òkun Iyọ̀) gé kúrò pátápátá. Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni àwọn ènìyàn kọjá sí òdìkejì ní ìdojúkọ Jeriko.
The water piled up a long way upstream, at the town of Adam, near Zarethan, while downstream no more water flowed into the Dead Sea. So the people crossed over, opposite Jericho.
17 Àwọn àlùfáà tí ó ru àpótí ẹ̀rí Olúwa sì dúró ṣinṣin lórí ilẹ̀ gbígbẹ ní àárín Jordani, nígbà tí gbogbo àwọn ọmọ Israẹli ń kọjá títí gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè náà fi rékọjá nínú odò Jordani lórí ilẹ̀ gbígbẹ.
The priests carrying the Ark stood on the dried-up riverbed of the Jordan as all the people went by, staying there until everyone had crossed over on dry ground.
