< Joshua 11 >
1 Nígbà tí Jabini ọba Hasori gbọ́ nǹkan wọ̀nyí, ó ránṣẹ́ sí Jobabu ọba Madoni, sí ọba Ṣimroni àti Akṣafu,
When Jabin, king of Hazor, heard this, he sent a message to Jobab, king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Akshaph.
2 àti sí àwọn ọba ìhà àríwá tí wọ́n wà ní orí òkè ní aginjù, gúúsù ti Kinnereti, ní ẹsẹ̀ òkè ìwọ̀-oòrùn àti ní Nafoti Dori ní ìwọ̀-oòrùn;
He also sent the message to the kings who were in the northern hill country, in the Jordan River valley south of Kinnereth, in the lowlands, and in Naphoth Dor to the west.
3 sí àwọn ará Kenaani ní ìlà-oòrùn àti ìwọ̀-oòrùn; sí àwọn Amori, Hiti, Peresi àti Jebusi ní orí òkè; àti sí àwọn Hifi ní ìsàlẹ̀ Hermoni ní agbègbè Mispa.
He also sent a message to the Canaanites to the east and west, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites in the hill country, and the Hivites by Mount Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
4 Wọ́n sì jáde pẹ̀lú gbogbo ogun wọn àti ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ẹṣin àti kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun ńlá, wọ́n sì pọ̀, gẹ́gẹ́ bí iyanrìn etí òkun.
All their armies came out with them, a great number of soldiers, in number like the sand on the seashore. They had a great number of horses and chariots.
5 Gbogbo àwọn ọba yìí pa ọmọ-ogun wọn pọ̀, wọ́n sì pa ibùdó sí ibi omi Meromu láti bá Israẹli jà.
All these kings met at the appointed time, and they camped at the waters of Merom to wage war with Israel.
6 Olúwa sì sọ fún Joṣua pé, “Má ṣe bẹ̀rù wọn, nítorí ní àkókò yìí ní ọ̀la, gbogbo wọn ni èmi yóò fi lé Israẹli lọ́wọ́ ní pípa. Ìwọ yóò já iṣan ẹ̀yìn ẹṣin wọn, ìwọ yóò sì sun kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun wọn.”
Yahweh said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid in their presence, because tomorrow at this time I am giving them all to Israel as dead men. You will hamstring their horses, and you will burn their chariots.”
7 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Joṣua àti gbogbo àwọn ọmọ-ogun rẹ̀ yọ sí wọn ní òjijì ní ibi omi Meromu, wọ́n sì kọlù wọ́n,
Joshua and all the men of war came. They arrived suddenly at the waters of Merom, and attacked the enemy.
8 Olúwa sì fi wọ́n lé Israẹli lọ́wọ́. Wọ́n ṣẹ́gun wọn, wọ́n sì lépa wọn ní gbogbo ọ̀nà títí dé Sidoni ńlá, sí Misrefoti-Maimu, àti sí àfonífojì Mispa ní ìlà-oòrùn, títí tí kò fi ku ẹnìkankan sílẹ̀.
Yahweh gave the enemy into the hand of Israel, and they struck them and pursued them to Sidon, Misrephoth Maim, and to the Valley of Mizpah to the east. They struck them until not even one survivor of them was left.
9 Joṣua sì ṣe sí wọn gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ: Ó sì já iṣan ẹ̀yìn ẹsẹ̀ ẹṣin wọn ó sì sun kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun wọn.
Joshua did to them just as Yahweh told him. He hamstrung the horses and burned the chariots.
10 Ní àkókò náà Joṣua sì padà sẹ́yìn, ó sì ṣẹ́gun Hasori, ó sì fi idà pa ọba rẹ̀. (Hasori tí jẹ́ olú fún gbogbo àwọn ìlú wọ̀nyí kó tó di àkókò yí.)
Joshua turned back at that time and captured Hazor. He struck its king with the sword. (Hazor had been head of all these kingdoms.)
11 Wọ́n sì fi idà pa gbogbo àwọn ènìyàn tí ó wà ní ibẹ̀. Wọ́n sì pa wọ́n run pátápátá, wọn kò sì fi ohun alààyè kan sílẹ̀; ó sì fi iná sun Hasori fúnra rẹ̀.
They struck with the sword every living creature that was there, and he set them apart to be destroyed, so there was not any living creature left alive. Then he burned Hazor.
12 Joṣua sì kó gbogbo àwọn ìlú ọba àti ọba wọn, ó sì fi idà pa wọ́n. Ó sì run gbogbo wọn, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Mose ìránṣẹ́ Olúwa ti pàṣẹ.
Joshua captured all the cities of these kings. He also captured all their kings and struck them with the edge of the sword. He completely destroyed them with the edge of the sword, just as Moses the servant of Yahweh had commanded.
13 Síbẹ̀ Israẹli kò sun ọ̀kankan nínú àwọn ìlú tó wà lórí òkè kéékèèké, àyàfi Hasori nìkan tí Joṣua sun.
Israel did not burn any of the cities built on mounds, except Hazor. It alone Joshua burned.
14 Àwọn ará Israẹli sì kó gbogbo ìkógun àti ohun ọ̀sìn ti ìlú náà fún ara wọn. Wọ́n sì fi idà pa gbogbo ènìyàn títí wọ́n fi run wọ́n pátápátá, kò sí ẹni tí ó wà láààyè.
The army of Israel took all the plunder from these cities along with the livestock for themselves. They killed every human being with the edge of the sword until all were dead. They left alive no creature that breathed.
15 Bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún Mose ìránṣẹ́ rẹ̀, bẹ́ẹ̀ ní Mose pàṣẹ fún Joṣua, Joṣua sì ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀. Kò fi ọ̀kankan sílẹ̀ láìṣe nínú gbogbo ohun tí Olúwa pàṣẹ fún Mose.
Just as Yahweh had commanded his servant Moses, in the same way, Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did it. He left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Moses to do.
16 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Joṣua gba gbogbo ilẹ̀ náà: ilẹ̀ òkè, gbogbo gúúsù, gbogbo agbègbè Goṣeni, ẹsẹ̀ òkè ti ìwọ̀-oòrùn, aginjù àti àwọn òkè àti pẹ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ Israẹli,
Joshua took all that land, the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of Goshen, the foothills, the Jordan River valley, the hill country of Israel, and the lowlands.
17 láti òkè Halaki títí dé òkè Seiri, sí Baali-Gadi ní àfonífojì Lebanoni ní ìsàlẹ̀ òkè Hermoni. Ó sì mú gbogbo ọba wọn, ó sì kọlù wọ́n, ó sì pa wọ́n.
From Mount Halak near Edom, and going north as far as Baal Gad in the valley near Lebanon below Mount Hermon, he captured all their kings and killed them.
18 Joṣua sì bá gbogbo àwọn ọba wọ̀nyí jagun ní ọjọ́ pípẹ́.
Joshua waged war for a long time with all the kings.
19 Kò sí ìlú kan tí ó bá àwọn ará Israẹli ṣe àdéhùn àlàáfíà, àyàfi àwọn ará Hifi tí wọ́n ń gbé ní Gibeoni, gbogbo wọn ló bá a jagun.
Not one city made peace with the army of Israel except the Hivites who lived in Gibeon. Israel captured all the rest of the cities in battle.
20 Nítorí Olúwa fúnra rẹ̀ ní ó sé ọkàn wọn le, kí wọn kí ó lè bá Israẹli jagun, kí òun lè pa wọ́n run pátápátá, kí wọn má sì ṣe rí ojúrere, ṣùgbọ́n kí ó lè pa wọ́n, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún Mose.
For it was Yahweh who hardened their hearts so they would wage war against Israel, so that he might completely destroy them without mercy, just as he had instructed Moses.
21 Ní àkókò náà ni Joṣua lọ tí ó sì run àwọn ará Anaki kúrò ní ilẹ̀ òkè, láti Hebroni, Debiri, àti ní Anabu, àti gbogbo ilẹ̀ Juda, àti kúrò ní gbogbo ilẹ̀ òkè Israẹli. Joṣua sì run gbogbo wọn pátápátá àti ìlú wọn.
Then Joshua came at that time and he destroyed the Anakim. He did this in the hill country, at Hebron, Debir, Anab, and in all the hill country of Judah, and in all the hill country of Israel. Joshua completely destroyed them and their cities.
22 Kò sí ará Anaki kankan tí ó ṣẹ́kù ní ilẹ̀ Israẹli: bí kò ṣe ní Gasa, Gati àti Aṣdodu.
None of the Anakim were left in the land of Israel except at Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod.
23 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ní Joṣua sì gba gbogbo ilẹ̀ náà, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa ti pàṣẹ fún Mose, ó sì fi fún Israẹli ní ilẹ̀ ìní gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìpín wọn nípa ẹ̀yà wọn. Ilẹ̀ náà sì sinmi ogun.
So Joshua captured the whole land, just as Yahweh said to Moses. Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel, assigned to each of their tribes. Then the land had rest from the wars.
