< John 2 >
1 Ní ọjọ́ kẹta, wọn ń ṣe ìgbéyàwó kan ní Kana ti Galili. Ìyá Jesu sì wà níbẹ̀.
And the third day a wedding occurred in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2 A sì pe Jesu àti àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ sí ibi ìgbéyàwó náà.
And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the wedding.
3 Nígbà tí wáìnì sì tán, ìyá Jesu wí fún un pé, “Wọn kò ní wáìnì mọ́.”
And having lacked wine the mother of Jesus says to him, They have no wine.
4 Jesu fèsì pé, “Arábìnrin ọ̀wọ́n, èéṣe tí ọ̀rọ̀ yìí fi kàn mí? Àkókò mi kò tí ì dé.”
And Jesus says to her, What is with me and with thee, woman? My hour is not yet here.
5 Ìyá rẹ̀ wí fún àwọn ìránṣẹ́ náà pé, “Ẹ ṣe ohunkóhun tí ó bá wí fún yín.”
His mother says to the helpers, Whatever he may say to you, do.
6 Ìkòkò òkúta omi mẹ́fà ni a sì gbé kalẹ̀ níbẹ̀, irú èyí tí àwọn Júù máa ń fi ṣe ìwẹ̀nù, èyí tí ọ̀kọ̀ọ̀kan wọn gbà tó ìwọ̀n ogún sí ọgbọ̀n jálá.
Now there were six stone water pots laying there in accordance with the purification of the Jews, containing two or three measures each.
7 Jesu wí fún àwọn ìránṣẹ́ náà pé, “Ẹ pọn omi kún ìkòkò wọ̀nyí.” Wọ́n sì pọn omi kún wọn títí dé etí.
Jesus says to them, Fill the water pots with water. And they filled them until over.
8 Lẹ́yìn náà ni ó wí fún wọn pé, “Ẹ bù jáde lára rẹ̀ kí ẹ sì gbé e tọ alábojútó àsè lọ.” Wọ́n sì gbé e lọ;
And he says to them, Draw out now, and carry to the feast-ruler. And they carried.
9 alábojútó àsè náà tọ́ omi tí a sọ di wáìnì wò. Òun kò sì mọ ibi tí ó ti wá, ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ìránṣẹ́ tí ó bu omi náà wá mọ̀. Alábojútó àsè sì pe ọkọ ìyàwó sí apá kan,
And when the feast-ruler tasted the water that became wine, and had not known from where it was (but the helpers who drew the water had known), the feast-ruler called the bridegroom,
10 Ó sì wí fún un pé, “Olúkúlùkù a máa kọ́kọ́ gbé wáìnì tí ó dára jùlọ kalẹ̀; nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn bá sì mu ún yó tan, nígbà náà ní wọn a mú èyí tí kò dára tó bẹ́ẹ̀ wá; ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ ti pa wáìnì dáradára yìí mọ́ títí ó fi di ìsinsin yìí.”
and says to him, Every man sets out the good wine first, and when they drank much, then the lesser. Thou have kept the good wine until now.
11 Èyí jẹ́ àkọ́ṣe iṣẹ́ àmì, tí Jesu ṣe ní Kana ti Galili. Ó sì fi ògo rẹ̀ hàn; àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ sì gbà á gbọ́.
This is the beginning of the signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and he manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.
12 Lẹ́yìn èyí, ó sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí Kapernaumu, Òun àti ìyá rẹ̀ àti àwọn arákùnrin rẹ̀, àti àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀, wọ́n sì gbé ibẹ̀ ní ọjọ́ pípẹ́.
After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers and his disciples. And they remained there not many days.
13 Àjọ ìrékọjá àwọn Júù sì súnmọ́ etílé, Jesu sì gòkè lọ sí Jerusalẹmu,
And the Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 Ó sì rí àwọn tí n ta màlúù, àti àgùntàn, àti àdàbà, àti àwọn onípàṣípàrọ̀ owó nínú tẹmpili wọ́n jókòó:
And he found sitting in the temple those who sell oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers.
15 Ó sì fi okùn tẹ́ẹ́rẹ́ ṣe pàṣán, ó sì lé gbogbo wọn jáde kúrò nínú tẹmpili, àti àgùntàn àti màlúù; ó sì da owó àwọn onípàṣípàrọ̀ owó nù, ó si ti tábìlì wọn ṣubú.
And having made a whip from cords, he drove all out from the temple, both the sheep and the oxen. And he poured out the coins of the moneychangers, and turned over their tables.
16 Ó sì wí fún àwọn tí ń ta àdàbà pé, “Ẹ gbé nǹkan wọ̀nyí kúrò níhìn-ín; ẹ má ṣe sọ ilé Baba mi di ilé ọjà títà.”
And he said to those who sell the doves, Take these things from here. Make not my Father's house a house of merchandise.
17 Àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ sì rántí pé, a ti kọ ọ́ pé, “Ìtara ilé rẹ jẹ mí run.”
And his disciples remembered that it is written, Zeal for thy house will consume me.
18 Nígbà náà ní àwọn Júù dáhùn, wọ́n sì bi í pé, “Àmì wo ni ìwọ lè fihàn wá, tí ìwọ fi ń ṣe nǹkan wọ̀nyí?”
The Jews therefore answered, and said to him, What sign do thou show us since thou do these things?
19 Jesu dáhùn ó sì wí fún wọn pé, “Ẹ wó tẹmpili yìí palẹ̀, Èmi ó sì tún un kọ ní ọjọ́ mẹ́ta.”
Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Nígbà náà ní àwọn Júù wí pé, “Ọdún mẹ́rìndínláàádọ́ta ni a fi kọ́ tẹmpili yìí, ìwọ ó ha sì tún un kọ ní ọjọ́ mẹ́ta?”
The Jews therefore said, This temple was forty-six years being built, and will thou raise it up in three days?
21 Ṣùgbọ́n òun ń sọ ti tẹmpili ara rẹ̀.
But that man spoke about the temple of his body.
22 Nítorí náà nígbà tí ó jíǹde kúrò nínú òkú, àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ rántí pé, ó ti sọ èyí fún wọn, wọ́n sì gba Ìwé Mímọ́, àti ọ̀rọ̀ tí Jesu ti sọ gbọ́.
When therefore he was raised from the dead his disciples remembered that he spoke this, and they believed the scripture and the word that Jesus said.
23 Nígbà tí ó sì wà ní Jerusalẹmu, ní àjọ ìrékọjá, lákokò àjọ náà, ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn gba orúkọ rẹ̀ gbọ́ nígbà tí wọ́n rí iṣẹ́ àmì tí ó ṣe.
Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover during the feast, many believed in his name seeing his signs that he did.
24 Ṣùgbọ́n Jesu kò gbé ara lé wọn, nítorí tí ó mọ gbogbo ènìyàn.
But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew all men,
25 Òun kò sì nílò ẹ̀rí nípa ènìyàn, nítorí tí o mọ̀ ohun tí ń bẹ nínú ènìyàn.
and because he had no need that any man should testify about man, for he himself knew what was in man.
