< John 15 >

1 “Èmi ni àjàrà tòótọ́, Baba mi sì ni olùṣọ́gbà.
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard.
2 Gbogbo ẹ̀ka nínú mi tí kò bá so èso, òun a mú kúrò, gbogbo ẹ̀ka tí ó bá sì so èso, òun a wẹ̀ ẹ́ mọ́, kí ó lè so èso sí i.
He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit, He prunes to make it even more fruitful.
3 Ẹ̀yin mọ́ nísinsin yìí nítorí ọ̀rọ̀ tí mo ti sọ fún yín.
You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
4 Ẹ máa gbé inú mi, èmi ó sì máa gbé inú yín. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀ka kò ti lè so èso fún ara rẹ̀ bí kò ṣe pé ó ba ń gbé inú àjàrà, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ẹ̀yin, bí kò ṣe pé ẹ bá ń gbé inú mi.
Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.
5 “Èmi ni àjàrà, ẹ̀yin ni ẹ̀ka. Ẹni tí ó ń gbé inú mi, àti èmi nínú rẹ̀, òun ni yóò so èso lọ́pọ̀lọ́pọ̀, nítorí ní yíya ara yín kúrò lọ́dọ̀ mi, ẹ kò lè ṣe ohun kan.
I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.
6 Bí ẹnìkan kò bá gbé inú mi, a gbé e sọnù gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ̀ka, a sì gbẹ; wọn a sì kó wọn jọ, wọn a sì sọ wọ́n sínú iná, wọn a sì jóná.
If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned.
7 Bí ẹ̀yin bá ń gbé inú mi, tí ọ̀rọ̀ mi bá sì gbé inú yín, ẹ ó béèrè ohunkóhun tí ẹ bá fẹ́, a ó sì ṣe é fún yín.
If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
8 Nínú èyí ní a yìn Baba mi lógo pé, kí ẹ̀yin kí ó máa so èso púpọ̀; ẹ̀yin ó sì jẹ́ ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn mi.
This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples.
9 “Gẹ́gẹ́ bí Baba ti fẹ́ mi, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni èmi sì fẹ́ yín, ẹ dúró nínú ìfẹ́ rẹ̀.
As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love.
10 Bí ẹ̀yin bá pa òfin mi mọ́, ẹ ó dúró nínú ìfẹ́ mi; gẹ́gẹ́ bí èmi ti pa òfin Baba mi mọ́, tí mo sì dúró nínú ìfẹ́ rẹ̀.
If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.
11 Nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni mo ti sọ fún yín, kí ayọ̀ mi kí ó lè wà nínú yín, àti kí ayọ̀ yín kí ó lè kún.
I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
12 Èyí ni òfin mi, pé kí ẹ̀yin kí ó fẹ́ràn ara yín, gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ti fẹ́ràn yín.
This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
13 Kò sí ẹnìkan tí ó ní ìfẹ́ tí ó tóbi ju èyí lọ, pé ẹnìkan fi ẹ̀mí rẹ̀ lélẹ̀ nítorí àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ rẹ̀.
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ọ̀rẹ́ mi ni ẹ̀yin ń ṣe, bí ẹ bá ṣe ohun tí èmi pàṣẹ fún yín.
You are My friends if you do what I command you.
15 Èmi kò pè yín ní ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ mọ́; nítorí ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ kò mọ ohun tí olúwa rẹ̀ ń ṣe, ṣùgbọ́n èmi pè yín ní ọ̀rẹ́ nítorí ohun gbogbo tí mo ti gbọ́ láti ọ̀dọ̀ Baba mi wá, mo ti fihàn fún yín.
No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from My Father I have made known to you.
16 Kì í ṣe ẹ̀yin ni ó yàn mí, ṣùgbọ́n èmi ni ó yàn yín, mo sì fi yín sípò, kí ẹ̀yin kí ó lè lọ, kí ẹ sì so èso, àti kí èso yín lè dúró; kí ohunkóhun tí ẹ bá béèrè lọ́wọ́ Baba ní orúkọ mi, kí ó lè fi í fún yín.
You did not choose Me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will remain—so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.
17 Nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni mo pàṣẹ fún yín pé, kí ẹ̀yin kí ó fẹ́ràn ara yín.
This is My command to you: Love one another.
18 “Bí ayé bá kórìíra yín, ẹ mọ̀ pé, ó ti kórìíra mi ṣáájú yín.
If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first.
19 Ìbá ṣe pé ẹ̀yin ń ṣe ti ayé, ayé ìbá fẹ́ yin bi àwọn tirẹ̀; gẹ́gẹ́ bi o ṣe ri tí ẹ̀yin kì ń ṣe ti ayé, ṣùgbọ́n èmi ti yàn yín kúrò nínú ayé, nítorí èyí ni ayé ṣe kórìíra yín.
If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.
20 Ẹ rántí ọ̀rọ̀ tí mo ti sọ fún yín pé, ‘Ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ kò tóbi ju olúwa rẹ̀ lọ.’ Bí wọ́n bá ti ṣe inúnibíni sí mi, wọ́n ó ṣe inúnibíni sí yín pẹ̀lú: bí wọ́n bá ti pa ọ̀rọ̀ mi mọ́, wọ́n ó sì pa tiyín mọ́ pẹ̀lú.
Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well.
21 Ṣùgbọ́n gbogbo nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni wọ́n yóò ṣe sí yín, nítorí orúkọ mi, nítorí tí wọn kò mọ ẹni tí ó rán mi.
But they will treat you like this because of My name, since they do not know the One who sent Me.
22 Ìbá ṣe pé èmi kò ti wá kí n sì ti bá wọn sọ̀rọ̀, wọn kì bá tí ní ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí wọ́n di aláìríwí fún ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn.
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.
23 Ẹni tí ó bá kórìíra mi, ó kórìíra Baba mi pẹ̀lú.
Whoever hates Me hates My Father as well.
24 Ìbá ṣe pé èmi kò ti ṣe iṣẹ́ wọ̀n-ọn-nì láàrín wọn tí ẹlòmíràn kò ṣe rí, wọn kì bá tí ní ẹ̀ṣẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí wọ́n sì rí, wọ́n sì kórìíra èmi àti Baba mi.
If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father.
25 Ṣùgbọ́n èyí rí bẹ́ẹ̀ kí ọ̀rọ̀ tí a kọ nínú òfin wọn kí ó lè ṣẹ pé, ‘Wọ́n kórìíra mi ní àìnídìí.’
But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated Me without reason.’
26 “Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí Olùtùnú náà bá dé, ẹni tí èmi ó rán sí yín láti ọ̀dọ̀ Baba wá, àní Ẹ̀mí òtítọ́ nì, tí ń ti ọ̀dọ̀ Baba wá, òun náà ni yóò jẹ́rìí mi.
When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father—He will testify about Me.
27 Ẹ̀yin pẹ̀lú yóò sì jẹ́rìí mi, nítorí tí ẹ̀yin ti wà pẹ̀lú mi láti ìpilẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wá.
And you also must testify, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
