< Joel 2 >
1 Ẹ fun ìpè ní Sioni, ẹ sì fún ìpè ìdágìrì ní òkè mímọ́ mi. Jẹ́ kí àwọn ará ilẹ̀ náà wárìrì, nítorí tí ọjọ́ Olúwa ń bọ̀ wá, nítorí ó kù sí dẹ̀dẹ̀.
Blow ye a trumpet in Zion, And shout ye in My holy hill, Tremble do all inhabitants of the earth, For coming is the day of Jehovah, for [it is] near!
2 Ọjọ́ òkùnkùn àti ìrọ́kẹ̀kẹ̀, ọjọ́ ìkùùkuu àti òkùnkùn biribiri. Bí ọyẹ́ òwúrọ̀ ti í la bo orí àwọn òkè ńlá: àwọn ènìyàn ńlá àti alágbára; ya dé, ti kó ti ì sí irú rẹ̀ rí, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni irú rẹ̀ kì yóò sí mọ́ lẹ́yìn rẹ̀, títí dé ọdún ìran dé ìran.
A day of darkness and thick darkness, A day of cloud and thick darkness, As darkness spread on the mountains, A people numerous and mighty, Like it there hath not been from of old, And after it there is not again — till the years of generation and generation.
3 Iná ń jó níwájú wọ́n; ọwọ́ iná sì ń jó lẹ́yìn wọn. Ilẹ̀ náà dàbí ọgbà Edeni níwájú wọn, àti lẹ́yìn wọn bí ahoro ijù; nítòótọ́, kò sì sí ohun tí yóò bọ́ lọ́wọ́ wọn.
Before it consumed hath fire, And after it burn doth a flame, As the garden of Eden [is] the land before it, And after it a wilderness — a desolation! And also an escape there hath not been to it,
4 Ìrí wọn dàbí ìrí àwọn ẹṣin; wọ́n ń sáré lọ bí àwọn ẹlẹ́ṣin ogun.
As the appearance of horses [is] its appearance, And as horsemen, so they run.
5 Bí ariwo kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun ni wọn ń fo ní orí òkè bí ariwo ọ̀wọ́-iná tí ń jó koríko gbígbẹ, bí akọni ènìyàn tí a kójọ fún ogun.
As the noise of chariots, on the tops of the mountains they skip, As the noise of a flame of fire devouring stubble, As a mighty people set in array for battle.
6 Ní ojú wọn, àwọn ènìyàn yóò jẹ ìrora púpọ̀: gbogbo ojú ní yóò ṣú dudu.
From its face pained are peoples, All faces have gathered paleness.
7 Wọn yóò sáré bi àwọn alágbára; wọn yóò gùn odi bí ọkùnrin ológun; olúkúlùkù wọn yóò sì rìn lọ ní ọ̀nà rẹ̀, wọn kì yóò sì yà kúrò ni ọ̀nà wọn.
As mighty ones they run, As men of war they go up a wall, And each in his own ways they do go, And they embarrass not their paths.
8 Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ẹnìkan kì yóò kọlu ẹnìkejì rẹ̀; olúkúlùkù wọn yóò rìn ní ọ̀nà rẹ̀, nígbà tí wọn bá sì ṣubú lù idà wọn kì yóò gbọgbẹ́.
And each his brother they press not, Each in his way they go on, If by the missile they fall, they are not cut off.
9 Wọn yóò sáré síwá sẹ́yìn ní ìlú; wọn yóò súré lórí odi, wọn yóò gùn orí ilé; wọn yóò gbà ojú fèrèsé wọ̀ inú ilé bí olè.
In the city they run to and fro, On the wall they run, Into houses they go up by the windows, They go in as a thief.
10 Ayé yóò mì níwájú wọn; àwọn ọ̀run yóò wárìrì; oòrùn àti òṣùpá yóò ṣókùnkùn, àwọn ìràwọ̀ yóò sì fà ìmọ́lẹ̀ wọn sẹ́yìn.
At their face trembled hath the earth, Shaken have the heavens, Sun and moon have been black, And stars have gathered up their shining.
11 Olúwa yóò sì bú ramúramù jáde níwájú ogun rẹ̀: nítorí ibùdó rẹ̀ tóbi gidigidi; nítorí alágbára ní òun, tí n mú ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀ ṣẹ; nítorí ọjọ́ Olúwa tóbi ó sì ní ẹ̀rù gidigidi; ara ta ni ó lè gbà á?
And Jehovah hath given forth His voice before His force, For very great [is] His camp, For mighty [is] the doer of His word, For great [is] the day of Jehovah — very fearful, And who doth bear it?
12 “Ǹjẹ́ nítorí náà nísinsin yìí,” ni Olúwa wí, “Ẹ fi gbogbo ọkàn yín yípadà sí mi, àti pẹ̀lú àwẹ̀, àti pẹ̀lú ẹkún, àti pẹ̀lú ọ̀fọ̀.”
And also now — an affirmation of Jehovah, Turn ye back unto Me with all your heart, And with fasting, and with weeping, And with lamentation.
13 Ẹ sì fa ọkàn yín ya, kì í sì í ṣe aṣọ yín, ẹ sì yípadà sí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, nítorí tí o pọ̀ ní oore-ọ̀fẹ́, ó sì kún fun àánú, ó lọ́ra láti bínú, ó sì ṣeun púpọ̀, ó sì ronúpìwàdà láti ṣe búburú.
And rend your heart, and not your garments, And turn back unto Jehovah your God, For gracious and merciful [is] He, Slow to anger, and abundant in kindness, And He hath repented concerning the evil.
14 Ta ni ó mọ̀ bí òun yóò yípadà, kí o sì ronúpìwàdà, kí ó sì fi ìbùkún sílẹ̀ lẹ́yìn rẹ̀— àní ọrẹ-jíjẹ àti ọrẹ mímu fún Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín?
Who knoweth — He doth turn back, Yea — He hath repented, And He hath left behind Him a blessing, A present and libation of Jehovah your God?
15 Ẹ fún ìpè ní Sioni, ẹ ya àwẹ̀ kan sí mímọ́, ẹ pe àjọ tí ó ni ìrònú.
Blow ye a trumpet in Zion, Sanctify a fast — proclaim a restraint.
16 Ẹ kó àwọn ènìyàn jọ, ẹ ya ìjọ sí mímọ́; ẹ pe àwọn àgbàgbà jọ, ẹ kó àwọn ọmọdé jọ, àti àwọn tí ń mú ọmú, jẹ kí ọkọ ìyàwó kúrò nínú ìyẹ̀wù rẹ̀. Kí ìyàwó sì kúrò nínú iyàrá rẹ̀.
Gather the people, sanctify an assembly, Assemble the aged, Gather infants and sucklings of the breasts, Go out let a bridegroom from his inner chamber, And a bride out of her closet.
17 Jẹ́ kí àwọn àlùfáà, àwọn ìránṣẹ́ Olúwa, sọkún láàrín ìloro àti pẹpẹ. Sí jẹ́ kí wọn wí pé, “Dá àwọn ènìyàn rẹ sí, Olúwa. Má sì ṣe fi ìní rẹ fun ẹ̀gàn, tí yóò sì di òwe ní àárín àwọn kèfèrí. Èéṣe tí wọn yóò fi wí láàrín àwọn ènìyàn pé, ‘Ọlọ́run wọn ha da?’”
Between the porch and the altar weep let the priests, ministrants of Jehovah, And let them say: 'Have pity, O Jehovah, on Thy people, And give not Thy inheritance to reproach, To the ruling over them of nations, Why do they say among peoples, Where [is] their God?'
18 Nígbà náà ní Olúwa yóò jowú fún ilẹ̀ rẹ̀, yóò sì káàánú fún ènìyàn rẹ̀.
And let Jehovah be zealous for His land, And have pity on His people.
19 Nítòótọ́, Olúwa yóò dá wọn lóhùn, yóò sì wí fun àwọn ènìyàn rẹ̀ pé: “Wò ó èmi yóò rán ọkà, àti ọtí wáìnì tuntun, àti òróró sí i yín, a ó sì fi wọn tẹ́ yín lọ́rùn; Èmi kì yóò sì fi yín ṣe ẹ̀gàn mọ́ láàrín àwọn aláìkọlà.
Let Jehovah answer and say to His people, 'Lo, I am sending to you the corn, And the new wine, and the oil, And ye have been satisfied with it, And I make you no more a reproach among nations,
20 “Ṣùgbọ́n èmi yóò lé ogun àríwá jìnnà réré kúrò lọ́dọ̀ yín, èmi yóò sì lé e lọ sí ilẹ̀ tí ó ṣá, tí ó sì di ahoro, pẹ̀lú ojú rẹ̀ sí Òkun ìlà-oòrùn, àti ẹ̀yìn rẹ̀ sí ìwọ̀-oòrùn Òkun. Òórùn rẹ̀ yóò sì gòkè, òórùn búburú rẹ̀ yóò sì gòkè.” Nítòótọ́ ó ti ṣe ohun ńlá.
And the northern I put far off from you, And have driven him unto a land dry and desolate, With his face unto the eastern sea, And his rear unto the western sea, And come up hath his stink, And come up doth his stench, For he hath exerted himself to work.
21 Má bẹ̀rù, ìwọ ilẹ̀; jẹ́ kí inú rẹ̀ dùn kí o sì yọ̀, nítorí Olúwa ti ṣe ohun ńlá.
Do not fear, O land! joy and rejoice, For Jehovah hath exerted Himself to work.
22 Ẹ má bẹ̀rù, ẹranko igbó, nítorí pápá oko aginjù ń rú. Nítorí igi ń so èso rẹ̀, igi ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ àti àjàrà ń so èso ọ̀rọ̀ wọn.
Do not fear, O cattle of the field! For sprung forth have pastures of a wilderness, For the tree hath borne its fruit, Fig-tree and vine have given their strength!
23 Ẹ jẹ́ kí inú yín dùn, ẹ̀yin ọmọ Sioni, ẹ sì yọ̀ nínú Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, nítorí ó ti fi àkọ́rọ̀ òjò fún yín bí ó ti tọ́, Òun ti mú kí òjò rọ̀ sílẹ̀ fún un yín, àkọ́rọ̀ àti àrọ̀kúrò òjò ní oṣù kìn-ín-ní.
And ye sons of Zion, joy and rejoice, In Jehovah your God, For He hath given to you the Teacher for righteousness, And causeth to come down to you a shower, Sprinkling and gathered — in the beginning.
24 Àwọn ilẹ̀ ìpakà yóò kún fún ọkà; àti ọpọ́n wọn nì yóò sàn jáde pẹ̀lú ọtí wáìnì tuntun àti òróró.
And full have been the floors [with] pure corn, And overflown have the presses [with] new wine and oil.
25 “Èmi yóò sì mú ọdún wọ̀nyí ti eṣú jẹ run padà fún un yín. Èyí tí eṣú agénijẹ àti eṣú jewéjewé ọwọ́ eṣú agénijẹ àti kòkòrò ajẹnirun mìíràn ti fi jẹ àwọn ogun ńlá mi tí mo rán sí àárín yín.
And I have recompensed to you the years That consume did the locust, the cankerworm, And the caterpillar, and the palmer-worm, My great force that I did send against you.
26 Ẹ̀yin yóò ni ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ láti jẹ, títí ẹ̀yin yóò fi yó ẹ ó sì yín orúkọ Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, ẹni tí ó fi ìyanu bá yín lò; ojú kì yóò sì ti àwọn ènìyàn mi láéláé.
And ye have eaten, eating and being satisfied, And have praised the name of Jehovah your God, Who hath dealt with you wonderfully, And not ashamed are My people to the age.
27 Ẹ̀yin yóò sì mọ̀ pé, èmi wà láàrín Israẹli, àti pé; Èmi ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, àti pé kò sí ẹlòmíràn, ojú kì yóò sì ti àwọn ènìyàn mí láéláé.
And ye have known that in the midst of Israel [am] I, And I [am] Jehovah your God, and there is none else, And not ashamed are My people to the age.
28 “Yóò sì ṣe níkẹyìn ọjọ́, èmi yóò tú nínú Ẹ̀mí mí sí ara ènìyàn gbogbo; àwọn ọmọ yín ọkùnrin àti àwọn ọmọ yín obìnrin yóò máa sọtẹ́lẹ̀, àwọn arúgbó yín yóò máa lá àlá, àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin yín yóò máa ríran.
And it hath come to pass afterwards, I do pour out My Spirit on all flesh, And prophesied have your sons and your daughters, Your old men do dream dreams, Your young men do see visions.
29 Àti pẹ̀lú sí ara àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ ọkùnrin, àti sí ara àwọn ọmọ ọ̀dọ̀ obìnrin, ní èmi yóò tú ẹ̀mí mí jáde ní ọjọ́ wọ̀n-ọn-nì.
And also on the men-servants, and on the maid-servants, In those days I do pour out My Spirit.
30 Èmi yóò sì fi iṣẹ́ ìyanu hàn ní ọrun àti ní ayé, ẹ̀jẹ̀ àti iná, àti ọ̀wọ́n èéfín.
And I have given wonders in the heavens, and in the earth, Blood and fire, and columns of smoke.
31 A á sọ oòrùn di òkùnkùn, àti òṣùpá di ẹ̀jẹ̀, kí ọjọ́ ńlá àti ọjọ́ ẹ̀rù Olúwa tó dé.
The sun is turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, Before the coming of the day of Jehovah, The great and the fearful.
32 Yóò sí ṣe, ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó ba ké pè orúkọ Olúwa ní a ó gbàlà, nítorí ní òkè Sioni àti ní Jerusalẹmu ní ìgbàlà yóò gbé wà, bí Olúwa ti wí, àti nínú àwọn ìyókù tí Olúwa yóò pè.
And it hath come to pass, Every one who calleth in the name of Jehovah is delivered, For in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there is an escape, As Jehovah hath said, And among the remnants whom Jehovah is calling!
